  • Beasts of Fortune is released! - 6 August 2025

If you enjoyed High Strategy: Oradros, you might enjoy our newest game: Beasts of Fortune, which is out today.Beasts of Fortune is a roaming warband roguelike. You play as a band of mercenaries roaming an open world. Combat happens in an autobattler style. While traveling, you have to deal with terrain, weather, and regional conditions. Oh, and lots of enemies.Somewhat uniquely, possible units are procedurally generated each game. So you couldn't fall into a meta rut even if you wanted to.The game gets harder over time, and you have to keep up. But the game will never force a goal or quest on you: everything is optional, and you always have the freedom to do something else.

  • v1.0.3: Info Maps - 21 January 2024

Added info maps, for a data perspective on the world: Population: current and maximum. Happiness: lowest and average. Production: wealth and soldiers. Terrain, with any known army modifiers. Control. Special features: landmarks, defensible terrain, and job modifiers. City names. Population of each ancestry. Population of each sect.

  • v1.0.2b - 25 November 2023

Fixed a bug affecting map panning on some resolutions.

  • v1.0.2 - 6 October 2023

Fixed a bug where AI realms would sometimes forget to update their ritual policies. The question mark icon in the city details screen mentions how resource yields are calculated. Severe plagues run their course faster, while less deadly ones persist longer. Earthquakes are, on average, more deadly. AI realms are more hesitant to change their army composition. AI realms are more hesitant to attack when their army reserve is small. Successfully defending is more likely to prevent development loss from an attack.

  • Patch 1.0.1 - 2 September 2023

The Defend button now displays a highlight icon when there's something to defend, with the number of defendable towns displayed on it. The question mark icon in the Population menu now describes how the happiness distribution works. Attackable cities now display the exact amount of the adjacency effect on attacking cost. Defending follows the same rules, but an exact value can't be displayed in general, because it depends on who's attacking. Tentatively fixed a crash bug in the Population menu.
