• Weekend Playtest Schedule and Playtest Updates - 13 September 2024

  We're now live for the weekend! Our servers have held up decently well (after some initial hiccups) so we're opening up the playtest to automatically grant access to anyone who clicks the "Request Access" button on our steam page.   We're doing something a little crazy. We've been working on a new game prototype, and starting RIGHT NOW we're opening up playtesting for North American servers on Steam. We're so early with this thing that WE MIGHT NOT EVEN MAKE THIS GAME (and parts of it will be buggy and unfinished). Byte Breakers is 40-player platform fighter battle royale. It features the Omega Strikers characters you know and love in A NEW SETTING!! We aren't even totally sure whether we're making this game, so we're testing it with you to find out whether we should. It's giga early, there's not a lot of polish. There's bugs. Hell, some of the environments are literally default grayboxes. But we hope you can see the potential.   For all there have been attempts to lift the curtain of game development and show people how the sausage is made, game dev remains a pretty opaque thing. Initiatives like the Steam Early Access program help somewhat, by letting players give games a go while still being actively made and incorporating feedback, but it still feels like there's a disconnect.
