- Gravity Force 1.2 released - 20 November 2024
V.1.2 (2024-11-20) me: It's only math and C++, what could possibly go wrong? also me: ...well, crap. Added textures. I wanted one color per object. You wanted textures. Long story short: You get textures. Added full support for the immersive viewmode. Now you can "feel" the lack of maneuvering space Added own leaderboards for levels played in immersive mode (two per level: One for "default", one for "relaxed" each) Moved the difficulty switch from the main menu into the missions / races menu Moved the viewmode selectors from the Settings into the missions / races menu Did some cleanup work to the missions / races menu Removed the orthographic viewmode option from the settings Tweaked the lighting when in immersive mode Surely introduced a lot of new bugs we don't know about. For now Fixed some of the spelling and translation errors
- Gravity Force 1.1 released - 12 November 2024
V.1.1 (2024-11-11) This is a first update after the official launch. We've got a lot of valuable feedback from players that we carefully analyse and put to action. This will surely take some time, but here are the first things we could quickly implement. Some players told us about "strange" behavior of the game they took for bugs. It turns out we failed to make the HUD self explanatory enough. So we added some hints to the user when damages to the ship might inflict the flying behavior. Added warning messages that pop up when sub components of the ship get damaged Added warning sound when sub components of the ship get damaged Added some UI animation to make more clear what is going on More to come...
- Gravity Force is here! - 8 November 2024
What a ride! Gravity Force made it from The first Prototype (back then in UNITY) nearly to a game ready to release. Then Greedy John did his infamous stunt and ruined a whole community. May water run down his sleeves every time he washes his hands. How ever - now we are here. Gravity Force has been re-implemented line by line, this time in Unreal Engine. We are at Version 1.0. Have fun! Added a switch to choose between perspective, orthographic and "immersive" game mode Added a "tip of the day" section to the main menu where (hopefully) useful tips are displayed Added the "Mineshaft" level "Entropy". Now Entropynium is in the game... Added rotating signal lights to the homebase to make it a bit more distinguishable from the landing platform Added some missing localization data Added a white frame around checkboxes in the settings dialogue to increase visibility Re-aranged some elements…
- Beta 0.45 released! - 21 October 2024
UE Beta 0.45 (2024-10-21) Added the school gym mats... erm... I mean passive impact absorbers for the first training missions Fixed an error not displaying UTF-8 player names correctly in the leaderboards. That one was really annoying. Did even more minor bugfixes and tweaks "under the hood"
- Beta 0.43 released - 16 October 2024
UE Beta 0.43 (2024-10-17) Added the level Asteroids level Agoraphobia (actually added it in 0.42, but forgot to tell about it) Fixed the menu not remembering the selected level if the name contains blank characters Added a modal difficulty selector at startup of the game Experimented with reactive armor for the caves, also known as school gym mats. Will come soon. Reduced the number of entries displayed per page in the leaderboards Researched for the root cause of an error in the settings dialogue. Still in progress...
- Beta 0.42 released - 14 October 2024
UE Beta 0.42 (2024-10-14) Added a position indicator to the minimap. An often requested feature, so... here you are. Added a settings option to control the minimap update rate (as is it more "costly" than it should be on older machines) Fixed the magnets not affecting objects that where spawned before the magnet itself Fixed some problems with unicode characters in player names for the leaderboard. Not fully fixed yet, but working on it. Learned about a completely new way to totally mess up Unreal Engine project files Learned about another flaw in my backup strategy Learned about the importance of being really careful when setting up your version control And besides that: Gravity Force participates in the Steam Next Fest: https://store.steampowered.com/sale/nextfest
- Beta 0.41 released - 4 October 2024
UE Beta 0.41 (2024-10-04) Fixed a bug that made the game run in slow motion if set to too high frame rates Fixed a bug that led to vSync not working correctly. Now screen tearing should be a thing of the past Made the textbox for maxFPS unavailable when vSync is selected Added an option to enable / disable the FPS counter during gameplay Added language support for Czech Did some minor tewaks to the localization. Still a lot more work to be done here!
- Beta 0.40 released - 2 October 2024
UE Beta 0.40 (2024-10-02) Fixed the localization. Somehow the support for different languages got disabled during the 0.38 release. Strange. The engine exhaust now interacts with parts of the surrounding, mostly by blowing things around or torching them. Added an automatism to show and hide the mouse cursor. Removed the settings for custom screen resolutions (as they caused misterious, incomprehensible crashes on some systems) We had some trouble with the settings. Some users experienced crashes when changing the screen resolution. So we temporarily disabled this feature while we are working on a solution. And then we found out that - if you want to package a game that supports different languages - there are some additional checkboxes to tick. Well... guess who didn't do that. Long story short: Now you should be able to swith the game to English German Korean (Hangul) Japaneese Chinees…
- Beta 0.39 out now - 28 September 2024
UE Beta 0.39 (2024-09-28) Implemented the achievements "Streak Of 5", "Streak Of 10" and "Streak of 15" Implemented the achievement "Heavy Load" Realized way too late that the "Streak"-achievements could easily be achieved by simply repeating the Basic Flight Training 01 for 15 times Changed the "Streak" achievements so that you have to succeed in 5, 10 or 15 DIFFERENT missions in a row, without a single failure in between. Fixed a bug that sometimes made the mouse cursor be invisible in the main menu (which made the game look and feel like it has crashed) Fixed a bug that for some users made the Leaderboard not to be filled with entries Fixed a wrong date in the DevBlog Removed a debug function that caused the game (UE Beta 0.38) to crash if you pressed the keys 3 or 4 while in the main menu Removed another debug function that might have enabled cheating

- Beta 0.37 released - 19 September 2024
UE Beta 0.37 (2024-09-15) This is probably the last update before the OFFICIAL RELEASE of the DEMO version! Stay tuned! - Reduced the color of the menu background image to be more eye friendly - Had a longer dispute wether the name "Gravity Force" is legit, as - scientifficaly speaking - gravity is not a force! - Nearly had a heart attack as the game, the repository at Steam and the backup broke at the same time. Well... rebooting the dev PC did the trick - Tweaked the "send feedback" hotkey to make it take the player directly to the feedback thread - and not only to the discussion forum - Changed the design of the ingame UI buttons to not look *that* raw - Added customizable controls! A feature that has been asked for a lot - Fixed the settings menu. The menu button of the respectively selected menu area is now highlighted correctly - Added complete language support for additional coun…

- Beta 0.34 released - 29 August 2024
"Making a DEMO version is easy - just copy the game and remove all the stuff you don't want to ship with it." -- me "Boy was I wrong!" -- also me It was a lot of work, but now we are happy to announce that Gravity Force BETA 0.34 is out and ready to be playtested by the circle of hand selected testers. For thouse of you who are not on the playtesters list, but want to: Just wishlist the game. This gives the chance to be randomly selected for the next closed playtest. - Edited the texts of the failure and success panels. Well, they are short, but they get the point accross, I guess. - Tackled an issue where players with lower resolution can't see the "Start" button - Implemented cogwheels. Giant cogwheels. Because... why not? - Added a new "Mineshaft" level called "Locksmith" - Added a new "Mineshaft" level called "Rotary Valve" - Implemented the damage system! Now your ship will retalia…
