- T-Minus 30 Launches! - 26 August 2021
Build a city, assemble a space fleet, and flee the Earth, all in 30 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBPdjvK7dyk In T-Minus 30, you explore a post-apocalyptic environment and scavenge its resources to build enough rockets to save a small pocket of humanity. You start with a tiny settlement, where you till, irrigate, and farm the land to feed your people. As you expand, you exploit natural resources to build homes and roadways. You seek remnants of ancient civilization, mining ancient skyscrapers for their plastics and scavenging metal from the husks of automobiles you find in long-abandoned junkyards. With those resources, you can either go high tech, building up solar farms and hydroponics labs to stock sleek generational ships that each rescue thousands of evacuees, or stay low-tech, brute-forcing your population off the Earth by building massive numbers of 1960s era rocketry.…

- The criminal who killed 9.5 billion people in Elegy for a Dead World - 14 November 2018
Oh! We survived yesterday ! But what worlds are here to greet us on Post-Apocalypse Day as we stagger, blinking, into the light? Elegy for a Dead World is what happens when a story starts too late. When no hero appears to defeat the evil aliens, to assassinate the corrupted president, to warn the world about the impending natural catastrophe. All that remains is silence, ruins, and a morbid curiosity to know how it all went down. The game lets you walk through the ruins of three different planets, but you can’t interact with the environment in any way. Those worlds are already dead: no NPCs to rescue, no quests to complete, no monsters to kill. There s nothing to do but write about what you see. You can go freeform, and write whatever (and whenever) you want. Or you can choose a starting prompt, and let the game fill the ruins with phrases to tweak and complete. After completing y…

- Write Em Up: Elegy For A Dead World Released - 10 December 2014
“Wander around weird worlds looking at stuff then write about that” sounds like my job, but it’s also Elegy for a Dead World . Trapped on distant and dead alien worlds inspired by Romantic poets, our intrepid explorer wanders around, wondering what happened there and how they once were. Then we write little notes for other players to read, sharing our visions. Our John quite liked the build he played back when it was Kickstarting . Elegy launched today, costing about a tenner. …
- Hands On: Elegy For A Dead World - 17 October 2014
Elegy For A Dead World is undeniably quite a diversion for the developers Dejobaan Games, they behind AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! A Reckless Disregard for Gravity and Drunken Robot Pornography. It’s an extremely sedate concept, that aims to turn anyone into a storyteller. …
- Ghost In The Shelley: Elegy For A Dead World - 1 October 2014
The Kickstarter page for Dejobaan’s Elegy For a Dead World gets straight to the point – “A game about writing fiction”, reads the subtitle – and the pitch video is short and sweet. It’s also captivating, bringing to my tired mind a vision of a single player take on Jason Rohrer’s Sleep is Death . The worlds of Elegy are pre-constructed and even the names of the worlds – Shelley, Keats and Byron – might well suggest themes and feelings. Your input will be to decide how every theme, sight and sound translates into worlds, as you construct a fictional history of each place based on your discoveries. The video explains all of this rather well. …

- Shelley They Can’t Be Serious: Elegy For A Dead World - 23 October 2013
That Dejobaan , always making intense games of sensory-overload and destabilising weirdness. The last thing they’d over do is make something calm and reflective. Something inspired by the Romantic poets, for instance. Perhaps something that’s about observing and note-taking. Something like Elegy For A Dead World. Oh. (more…)
