- Public Beta Branch – Performance Update - 7 September 2026
Hi everyone. While we continue work on the next update, we’ve made a new build available on the optional public_beta branch on Steam. This build includes further work aimed at improving game performance. Our internal testing across a range of hardware has been very encouraging, but PC performance can vary considerably between different systems, so we’d like to test the update more widely before considering a full public release. If you’ve previously experienced poor performance in Mechanicus II, we’d particularly appreciate you trying the beta and letting us know whether you see an improvement, no meaningful change, or any new issues. For feedback and bug reports, please use our bug report form. Where relevant, please include your CPU, GPU, resolution, graphics settings and whether you’re using DirectX 11 or DirectX 12.To access the public beta:Right-click Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II in…
- Bug Fix Update Now Available - 6 August 2026

This includes fixes for several mission blockers, crashes and combat or skill-related problems, alongside a new setting intended to reduce CPU load on some systems. We know some players are still waiting for further improvements to performance and other technical issues, this update is not intended to address that. The broader optimisation work continues separately and we'll share updates on that as soon as we can.You can find the full list of changes below. - Performance Update – Unity Upgrade, New Graphics Settings and Bug Fixes - 24 June 2026
Hi everyone. Today, we’re releasing a major technical update for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, built around an upgrade to a newer version of Unity. Internal testing and feedback from the public beta of this build indicate that the upgrade improves baseline performance and optimisation across a wide range of hardware configurations. However, performance gains will vary depending on your system and settings, and we want to be clear that some players may see limited or no noticeable improvement from the engine upgrade alone. To provide greater control over performance, the update also introduces two new graphics settings: Mesh LOD Quality: Controls the level of detail used for 3D models at a distance. Reducing this setting may improve performance, particularly during larger or more visually demanding skirmishes. Background Effects: Controls the visual effects displayed in the backgrounds…
- Performance Update Available on Beta Branch - 12 June 2026
Hello everyone. As previously mentioned, the team is currently working on a performance-focused update for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II. This build includes a major engine update, with the aim of delivering meaningful performance and optimisation improvements. The build is still undergoing testing on our side. However, because PC performance can vary significantly depending on hardware, drivers, settings, Steam cache state and other system-specific factors, we also want to gather feedback from a wider range of real player setups before moving the update to the main live branch. For that reason, we’re making the upcoming performance update available through an optional public Steam beta branch. This will allow players who are currently experiencing performance issues, or who simply want to help test the build, to try it ahead of the full release and share feedback with us.Beta Branch Deta…
- We Hear You – Bug Fix Update and Ongoing Optimisation Work - 4 June 2026
First, thank you to everyone who has reported issues and shared feedback since the launch of Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II.We know we’ve been quiet since launch. That hasn’t been because we’re ignoring the issues being raised – it’s because the team has been focused on investigating, fixing and preparing updates as quickly as possible. We’re painfully aware that many players are experiencing performance issues, including lower than expected frame rates and unusually high GPU utilisation. Improving performance is a critical priority for us, and work is continuing on a more substantial optimisation update.Today’s update addresses a number of commonly reported bugs and includes a small FPS improvement for many players. However, we want to be clear that this update is not intended to resolve the main performance concerns raised by players. That work is ongoing and will require a further up…

- Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II Review - 20 May 2026
The first Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus had this really specific brutalist tactile energy to it. It was dense with lore, weird religious obsession, and tactical combat that felt surprisingly tense for a game about slow-moving robot priests stomping through tombs. Since then, I’ve fallen way deeper into Warhammer as a whole. Somewhere along the line, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader completely consumed my life for a while, and that definitely changed the way I looked at Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II going in. The expectations were a lot higher this time around. The scale is immediately bigger. You are not spending the entire game crawling through claustrophobic ruins anymore. This is a full planetary conflict now, with the Adeptus Mechanicus fighting against awakened Necron forces led by Vargard Nefershah. Being able to play both sides gives the sequel a lot more personality early on. The…

Rude cyborg vs. immortal robot strategy sequel Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II is releasing in Spring 2026, publishers Kasedo Games have announced. For anyone keeping track of the 40K XCOM-alike, that'll sound like a delay, considering it had previously mumbled something about launching in 2025. But then, we’d reached the dying days of December and it still didn’t have a specific date. Can one delay something that wasn’t dated to begin with? Read more

- Mechanicus II Releasing Spring 2026 - 15 December 2025
Mechanicus II is officially set to launch next spring. Since the Next Fest demo in October, we’ve been parsing every data-fragment of feedback, from long-time disciples of the Omnissiah and newly initiated alike. One of the most frequent requests was for the return of lingua technis, the distinctive machine-code language of the Machine God’s faithful that helped create the unique atmosphere of the original title. Given the demand, we’re committed to adding it as an optional setting at launch for anyone who prefers it over standard voiceovers. We’re also hard at work on performance optimisations and tightening up the moment-to-moment experience, particularly with regards to the speed of gameplay. Some of you noticed the animation speed-up settings in the demo, some didn’t – either way, it’s staying. On top of that, there’ll be an option for the Move action to be automatically selected whe…

- Thanks, Warhammer 40k Mechanicus 2, your Steam demo has Necron-pilled me - 3 October 2025
Warhammer XCOM is a hell of a pitch. It's such a good pitch that it's been done countless times already. Chaos Gate: Daemon Hunters. Mechanicus. Even the upcoming Menace is essentially a totally-not-Warhammer XCOM clone. Warhammer 40k Mechanicus 2 has the difficult task of improving on what has come before. It will inevitably be compared to it's predecessor first and foremost, but there is a pantheon of turn-based Warhammer games to surpass. Read the rest of the story... - Mechanicus 2 will have Space Marines, but you won't be able to play as them - 3 September 2025
Of all the upcoming Warhammer 40k games, Mechanicus 2 may be the one I'm most hyped about. While Dark Heresy is shaping up to be the perfect successor to Rogue Trader (keep your eyes peeled for more on that), I'm a secret Necron fanatic, so seeing those creepy skeletal monsters brought to life is far too exciting. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at Bulwark Studios' grimdark adventure at Gamescom, and it feels like a deeper, better-realized version of the first game, offering unique faction gameplay, epic battle scenes, and, as confirmed during my preview, Space Marines.
