- 1.0 - We made it! - 27 May 2026
It is what it says on the title. The only thing missing is the credits theme, which for now has a fitting placeholder and will come out in a future patch. Hope you guys have a great time and feel free to report any issues here or on the discussion threads. I want to do a live Q&A stream in the future to answer any questions people may have about the game. Now regarding post launch content, for now that's unlikely, I'll leave the details for later. Note that the version in game still says "rc0" that is a mistake and this is the 1.0 release. To check, all you need to do is check the filesize, the games total file size was 8.81 GB versus 8.78 GB from the previous version. Also the previous version had a bug where you were able to infinitely jump by pressing parry and jump at the same time, if you can't do that, then you know you're in the right version.
- Pre-release version, out now! (rc0) - 17 May 2026
The whole game is here, I’m not kidding. But we’re not out of early access yet, there’s still a few things missing which I will list below. > Final boss music is missing.> Ending music is missing.> Credits music is missing.> Rare story softlocks may occur. (please post about it if you find any)Known Issues:> A few minor visual bugs.> You can restart events you shouldn’t be able to. (IMPORTANT) if the menu icon says “---” plus the amount of resets, then that icon is bugged, resetting may cause a softlock. I’m really glad to be almost done with this project and I am excited for whatever I get to make next! Thank you everyone who decided to participate in the Early Access program, the game would not be the same without you.
- Development Update, Story mode almost complete. - 25 March 2026
"Chapters" 6 & 7 & 8 (aka months of May, June and July) are finished and I will be starting to work on the final two months shortly. ︀︀June and July are sparse in events, but have major story developments alongside August and (maybe) September.I should note that August is quite content dense with September being (in spirit) the endgame.Once the story is complete, I will focus on the last feature: Arcade mode progression. What I'm thinking of is this:Vehicle unlocking remains the same as it is now.The arcade mode won't change, but a feature will be added instead.I'm thinking this feature will be unlocking concept art and lore pieces that can be accessed on the right side of the main menu.Completing a cup with a vehicle gives you 1 point and 1 more point is added for each difficulty up to special, where it counts the same as completing the tournament in beyond. (so, 3 or 4 points if you f…
- Note on chapters 4 and 5. - 5 March 2026
Chapter 4 and 5 are finished but they won’t be released just yet. As the story develops I see myself getting closer and closer to the finish line, but before we do that, I want to get rid of the “chapter” naming scheme I've been using so far. Chapters 4 and 5 will now be referred to as April and May as those are the in-game months that they represent in the actual story.I’m not very good at writing those sorts of updates so I’ll get straight to the point, there are only a few more months of the story to write and make content for, around june or july certain parts of the story will reach their peak and it will likely end by August. I previously wanted to feature the entire year but there’s just not enough content to fill it so the game will end before the in-game month of December.Depending on the in-game month, it takes about an average of a real life month or so to finish all content…
- Chapter 2 & 3 - Hotfix 1 - 8 January 2026
The two softlocks that would happen if you quit the game in the middle of a story event have been fixed. And all "Red Carnival" tracks have been added to single race and time trial menus.
- Story mode - Chapter 2 & 3 - Release! - 2 January 2026
Major update not> Your save file will be erased as usual but there are cheat codes to get you up to speed in the arcade mode.> There’s a cheat to skip the arcade mode tutorial, hold S, T, and U at the same time in the main menu until you hear a sound.> Chapters 2 and 3 have been added to the story mode. (February and March)> Multiple card and animated cutscenes.> Two new story events, a on foot stage and a racing event.> Racing event (March) takes place in a sudo open world exclusive to story mode and feature 3 new race tracks.> Story exclusive tracks have been added to tournament mode.> Note: The “Red Carnival” Tracks have not been added to single race mode yet, this is a known oversight and will be fixed in the future.> All vehicles and pilots have been added to the game, this area is considered complete.> Changes to story progress where certain activities will give you bonuses and so…
- Story Mode “Chapters 0 & 1” Update RELEASE! - 10 October 2025
With this update a lot has been included, here’s some patch notes:> Your save file will be wiped > Changes to internal systems and progression made it inevitable. > Your records will be wiped as well, since… > All major vehicles have had their stats adjusted very slightly.> Story mode is now available. > It works in a calendar system and features all events from 1st of December 2999, to 25 of January 3000 > The Story mode includes a lot of new features, here’s a few > Night races mode. ( adds a total of 6 tracks + reverse variants) > Story event races. ( total of 3 new tracks) > No-Go zones which totals 8 on-foot levels > All story exclusive racing content was added to the single races menu. > I’m still unsure of how to place those tracks into a tournament format so they only exist as single races for the time being. > Fully playable Shell (main character) third person gameplay, platfor…
- Unity security patch applied. - 3 October 2025
It's what it says on the title. If there are any issues with the game please reply here.On another note, I will only be applying the patch to the most up to date version of the game.Older versions are available but not supported, but you should be able to apply the patch yourself if you desire to play them.
- XF Extreme Formula - "Chapters" 0 & 1 - Trailer. - 22 September 2025
So, I've been calling them "Chapters" but a better word for them is "Months". The game uses a calendar system and you have to chose which activity you want to do in that day, as time progresses, the story moves forward and story events will happen. There will also be a few optional events you may be able to trigger by talking to other racers, the only one currently implemented is the "Night Race Invite" where you might be invited to a new race track or an illegal street race. The plan is to release the months of "December 2999" and most of, but not all of "January 3000". For January most of the month will be included right up until the final few days. The reason for this is that not all of the pilots have received their new models yet, and there is a planned story event where all of them should be present. Speaking of pilots, you can interact with them in the proving grounds, but for this…
- XF Extreme Formula - Radar Update - 15 December 2024
Last time when I said the next one would take a while, this isn’t the update I was talking about. To make a long story short, the feature I had planned was online play. Sadly the implementation proved a little too hard for my brain to wrap my head around it and I got me questioning if it was even a good idea. After consulting with the fans via twitter I’ve decided to pivot towards a more single player/local multiplayer experience, I’m not sure what that exactly means yet but what it does mean is that I’ve already started to work on Story Mode Exclusive content and will continue to do so from now on. Changes: > Radar has been added, you can now see if there are any racers behind you without having to look back. > The “look back” button has been moved to the dpad. > There is now an option to lock the fps on the graphics menu, but at the moment this feature may not work correctly. (still n…
- Split-Screen Multiplayer NOW AVAILABLE - 2 December 2024
Welcome to the world of local multiplayer! Yes, you heard it right, split-screen multiplayer has now become available for up to 2 players for Tournament and Single Race mode. How to access the local multiplayer: 1: In the settings menu go to the Player Input sub-menu. 2: If you have any controllers plugged in you should be able to assign then to whatever player wants to use them (note: The Keyboard is always assigned to Player 1) 3: In single race or tournament mode, in the Vehicle Selection Screen, simply press any button on a controller assigned to Player 2 and split-screen will be turned on. 4: First Player 1 selects their vehicle and then Player 2. INPORTANT: For newer players this is best experienced in single race mode instead of tournament mode, as your vehicle takes less damage and is able to re-spawn from out of bounds. It is also necessary to unlock said content in the single…
- XF Extreme Forumula - Split Screen Multiplayer: Beta Branch Release. - 30 November 2024
This is a bit of a tough update for me, I lack anyone to properly test it with so with my limited internal testing there’s only so much I can do so, in general, expect major bugs in this build. Further notes: > Lots of internal code was changed to make this mode work which means a few things might break, please feel free to report those but make sure to tell people this is about the beta build so they don’t th…
- XF Extreme Formula - Early Access v3 Update! - 25 November 2024
Mobinaria and The Kasei City tracks have new songs. All stages have preview animations now. There’s now a jingle for getting disqualified, don’t run out of fuel! A new mechanic has been added, the OVERDRIVE It works by holding the Y button on a controller, while engaging it your vehicle cannot accelerate for a brief moment and then it starts. The longer you stay in it the stronger it will be. This mode consumes a lot of fuel and some of your hull, using it is dangerous. Note that this mechanic is subject to change in the future. New combat option: Omni Directional Swipe Attack. Now pressing the analog stick + RB will do a swipe attack. To do a spin attack, simply let go of the analog stick. Note that the swipe attack has a longer cooldown then the spin and consumes a tad bit of O2. The white kestrel has 4 new variants, using parts from the story mode, they are balanced around the other…
- First Early Access Update, Tons of changes! - 4 November 2024
Thank you to everyone who has helped test the beta, I know the beta builds haven’t been betas for very long but due to IRL circumstances I wanted to get a real Early Access update as soon as it was absolutely possible. Current known issues that will be patched as soon as I can: > Windowed mode issues (genereally there seems to be something wrong with playing the game on windowed mode, I’m not sure what is causing it but I will be getting to it in the next patch hopefully in the next following weeks) > The soundtrack is still incomplete, some tracks are ready and not yet implemented while others are still in development. > Pilots are gone for now, they are all getting new models so I’ll be adding them back when they are done. > There's an issue exclusive to the Crosswinds vehicle that makes it so it will occasionally spin on collision with another vehicle, this is an oversight and will b…
- Beta branch update ROUND #2! - 3 November 2024
Again just like before, I wanted to grab some feedback before committing to the live version. Here are the changes: > Like before this will wipe your save file so be warned. > Tons of bugs that have been in my to-do list have been ironed out. > And more bugs found just yesterday have been squashed, hopefully we don’t get any more popping up. > You can now blow up other racers, depending on the vehicle’s hull it now may take 1 to 3 spin attacks to completely destroy an opponent. > With the previous statement in mind, you now take a lot more damage than before, meaning you are actually at some risk of blowing up yourself. And also, both features will be exclusive to arcade mode. > Wall collisions now take some O2 from your vehicle. > Normal and Intense have been rebalanced and Unfair has been renamed to Beyond.
- First Beta Branch Update - 1 November 2024
Beta branch update! How to access: To access the new version, right click the game in your library, go to properties and then “betas” from the drop down menu select the beta branch. So, why are we doing this? Personally I don’t view early access itself as a beta, I consider it an unfinished version of the game which I get people consider a beta but that’s not what I’m going for here, the version released on the public branch will be ideally bug free and as seamless as an experience as possible, therefore I will be doing beta branches to sort those issues out before they make it into early access. Currently there are a few bugs and mistakes in this beta that I will be adjusting in the next following days. Known Bugs List: > This beta will wipe your save data, I believe I coded it to delete everything if the version mismatches, but lap records and the proving grounds are stored in their o…
