- Steam Delisting - 19 December 2025
The Backrooms Deluxe will be delisted from the Steam store on December 24th, in favor of the new game (The Backrooms Deluxe 2). If you bought any DLC or added this game to your library before it will be delisted, you will not lose it. All current owners of The Backrooms Deluxe will keep the game in their library.Originally, I wanted to just delist the game from search, as has been done for many other games, but I wasn't able to get Steam to allow that so my next best option is to delist the game.At some point, I will provide a build for the game in my Discord server that is entirely delinked from Steam and can be played on LAN.If you don't have the game in your library yet, you may add it for free if you wish to keep it after December 24th.

- Issues Fixed - Small Update - 21 February 2025
The issues with the game attempting to connect to the wrong server has been fixed. From now on, you won't be required to have an active connection to the servers, but the game will refuse to start if you are not connected to Steam. As a warning, I was forced to push previously unreleased content. Although it's minor changes, bugs still may occur. Please report any in the Discord server or in the community hub for the game. I apologize for the issues with the game.

The servers have gone down again. It's like this game is haunting me to go back and update it! Issue will be fixed within a day or so. I apologize sincerely for the issue. From the next update onwards, a connection to the server won't be necessary to play on Steam P2P lobbies or singleplayer.

IT'S FREE!! I am just as excited as you are to tell you The Backrooms Deluxe is now FREE!!! All of the levels present until 2.0 are now free, with the only exception being Level 9 which was added in 2.1, which is only available in the new DLC. Some features are locked behind the DLC, such as 8-player multiplayer lobbies, and challenges. The rest, however, is free! Have fun!

The Backrooms Deluxe is going FREE! You saw the title, we're making this game free upon the release of Liminality! But with that, come some changes to make sure people who already bought the game get a fair experience too. - Liminality - 1 August 2024
Liminality My new game Liminality is releasing, and The Backrooms Deluxe will get a huge update right after the game's release. The update will bring a ton of new changes, fixes and will revert the game to an enjoyable state which was taken away in older updates. Multiplayer will be temporarily disabled for a few days/weeks when that update drops. Liminality will currently have 2 chapters on release: Chapter 1: The Poolrooms Chapter 2: The Backrooms, with a twist Of course, there are many chapters planned for future free content updates, and even a DLC planned. In the official Discord server you will be able to vote for the new features added in polls, make suggestions and report bugs. Important The game has recently been on a decline because for a short period (8-9 hours) I had pushed a broken version that did not package correctly. I am extremely sorry for the issues, firstly the old version was reverted and now a patch fixing all your issues has been released. If you have made any reviews/videos about the game in this time period, I highly suggest you try it again. (make sure your version number is 1.0.2 or higher)
