- Snaky Survivor Update: A Whole New Way to Play! - 31 January 2025
I've been working on a big update with lots of changes and new content! soul/health now plays a more interactive role, making strategy and exploration more important than ever. Levels are now organized in a map (with a minimap) You can choose which rooms to visit, but unlocking them costs a soul. New items added: keys, collectibles, and more! Think Binding of Isaac or Zelda, but minimalist. More Level Types Survival rooms โ Stay alive until time runs out. Enemy rooms โ Trick enemies into taking themselves out. Exploration rooms โ Navigate mazes to find the exit. Boss rooms โ Defeat the boss to clear the room. New Player Abilities Dodging is more important โ Use hazards to your advantage. Drop your soul mid-game โ Use it as bait to outsmart enemies. More movement tricks โ Dash, indirect attacks, bouncing, etc. (still experimenting!) - Update 0.4.4 - 19 November 2023
This is a regular update with few new features and changes. Enemies Collision Enemies collide with each other now. Depending on the strength of the enemy, when they collide with each other, some of them will destroy others. If enemies are the same kind, the general rule is that both will be destroyed. Saws, Lasers and Wall/Blocks cannot be destroyed. Rate Levels I want to start improving the level design, whenever you feel like it, you can rate levels now. Depending on the results, I will try to change levels to make them more interesting. Game Difficulty Since a couple of previous updates, the core mechanics changed and every time you start a level now, health is restored 100%. This change makes the game easier, compared to the original design so I decided to increase the difficulty. Levels will keep evolving in the upcoming weeks. - Autumn Update - 11 November 2023
I've been testing this new update for a couple of weeks and I'm very excited to finally share it with you all. This new changes are themed around Autumn; it was initially planned to be a Halloween themed updated but decided to spend more time polishing the content and adding more new stuff. Bomb There is a new bomb type of enemy, it will explode after few seconds and whatever that is in the area (Player or Soul) will get hurt. In addition, if you or maybe the lasers hits it, it will explode too and cause the same effect. Ghost/Bullet This new enemy appears at the edge of the screen and aims at the player when appearing. It will follow a path straight to the player but without re-aiming so it's not as deadly but can go through walls, which tries to force the player to change position wherever it is. Levels We have 15 new levels now, all of them featuring the new enemies in combination wiโฆ

Hello! I've decided to make few important changes about the core mechanics of the game. Lives as a currency Lives don't work as a currency anymore. Levels now begin with a specific amount of health (most of the time 100%) and you will just have to survive by the end of the level when the time is up. Once you clear a level, you can go to the next one or replay it to get better results. Continues Since lives don't work as a currency anymore, continues (stars) don't make sense so I removed them too. Levels can be played as many times as you want. Enemies damage With the previous changes, the game is now easier so in order to balance the difficulty, enemies are more dangerous now. Damage was increased for all the existing enemies. Level selector There is a new menu to select which level you want to play, just a regular level picker, which now allows you to replay levels if you want get a beโฆ

I know that this post comes a li'l bit late but... Snaky Survivor is OUT!! ๐๐ Guide a snake-like character as it gathers soul fragments to stave off hunger, weaving through hazardous obstacles in a race against time. The reason I took time to post the announcement here is because I was preparing something for you, to explain the game in more detail. I tried show you the most important features briefly and also added subtitles, in case things are not clear (I'm not too good at narrating stuff). - Snaky Survivor slithers into Early Access in ONE WEEK! - 8 September 2023
Snaky Survivor will release into Early Access next week, on September 14th, 2023! As you can see from the video, the basic mechanics are really simple: collect as much soul as you can and don't get hit by enemies. The amount of soul you collect will keep you alive but it will also serve other purposes: Move forward Each level has a price, which is paid in pieces of soul that you collect. Every time a level ends, you will decide whether you want to play one more time to collect more soul or you want to go to the next level. Prices start very low and keep increasing throughout the game. Bonus levels & Stars In case you fail a level, you will have the opportunity to play again, to do so you need stars. Stars are items that can be purchased using your soul (the same soul you collect) while playing bonus levels. Once you reach a bonus level, you'll have the chance to get stars, it will be upโฆ
