  • Reflections Of Myth & Valor: A Portrait Pack by Mike Sass Releasing April 29th - 11 April 2025

To celebrate Baldur’s Gate's 25th anniversary a while ago in 2023, we organized a Community Contest with O.G. artist Mike Sass to give our players the chance of a lifetime: to have their portraits transformed into the art style of Baldur’s Gate and added to the game. A lot of fans participated in the Contest, and all of you wanted Mike to draw more than just 2 portraits. We summoned a Djinni, and it granted your Wish (although the Djinni certainly took their time), with the Reflections Of Myth & Valor portrait pack coming to Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store on April 29th alongside free community portraits of the two Contest winners (separate download). Reflections Of Myth & Valor will allow you to customize your character’s look and feel with sixteen brand new portraits representing a huge variety of classes, subclasses, races, and alignments that the Baldur’s Gate games are known for.…

  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard did see Bioware take a "hard look at multiplayer", but eventually decide to stick to what it does best - 18 July 2024

Bioware has confirmed that it did indeed do a bit of a distracted boyfriend meme when it came to the idea of adding multiplayer elements to the game that's now known as Dragon Age: The Veilguard , but recovered after deciding it wanted to stick to its established strengths. This comes via an interview about the game from Game Informer , which takes on the tough task of following up the news that Bioware won't tell anyone whether the game features any virtual genitalia , something we're all still dying to know. Bioware general manager Gary McKay confirmed that, during the pre-prduction stage, the game's developers did experiment with a lot off different stuff. "At one point, it was multiplayer – we did a hard look at multiplayer, he revealed, "but we felt we really couldn't return to our roots." Read more

  • Don't worry, the next Baldur's Gate shouldn't be over 20 years away, even if it won't come from Larian - 17 April 2024

So, we've all had time to come to terms with the fact that Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian isn’t doing any DLC for the game, or a Baldur’s Gate 4, or anything to do with D&D in the near future , even if those things might once have been on the cards . The good news is that Wizards of the Coast, which controls the IP, already looks to be in talks with folks who aren't Larian about what the next game in the series might look like. Before you go and start getting ally hyped up, it sounds like it'll be a while until we actually see any new BG things actually materialise. Though, it's nice to know that you hopefully won't have aged over twenty years by the time they do arrive, assuming they, you know, actually do that. Speaking to PC Gamer , Eugene Evans, the senior vice president of digital strategy and licensing for Wizards of the Coast and parent company Hasbro - which owns the IP - offe…
