Developer 4A Games has officially announced Metro 2039 , the fourth entry in the post-apocalyptic shooter series based on the book franchise of the same name. You can watch the reveal trailer below. This new entry takes the action back to the dark and claustrophobic metro tunnels underneath Russia, and the studio is being extremely open about how much Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has altered both life for the 4A Games (based in Ukraine) and the game itself. In a pre-brief for Metro 2039, attended by multiple outlets such as VGC , 4A Games detailed a bit of the ethos behind the new entry. As teased earlier in the week, Metro 2039 has been fully unveiled as a "harrowing" singleplayer horror-shooter that – following the roaming Metro Exodus – takes the FPS series back to the ruins of a nuclear-ravaged Moscow.
