- Development Being Suspended - 17 January 2025
As of 1/16/2025 This game’s development has been suspended indefinitely The Good News INFESTSTATION is not leaving Steam or ceasing to function. It will remain in your library and it will still be fully playable, both solo and with other players. We utilized peer-to-peer architecture for our multiplayer that does not rely on external services to work (the player who creates the crew lobby is the host of their own server). The Bad News After 11 content, gameplay improvement, and performance improvement updates, we have exhausted our financial runway and sales are insufficient to support the cost of operation for the studio, so the game’s development must be suspended indefinitely. It has been an exciting but difficult journey full of many surprises (good and bad) and challenges leading us to this point. Although we are saddened that INFESTSTATION was never able to grow into the game it w…
- Update 12: Seasonal Content Removed - 5 November 2024
Update 12 Nov 5, 2024 Halloween Seasonal Content has ended, so the two Halloween themed missions have been removed from the game. There are also a few minor bug fixes and tweaks, as well as some rebalanced threat spawn sets for each mission type, a fix to add sound and visual effects to the destruction of scrap barricades, and some balancing to make eggs less annoying when spawning in doorways. Gameplay Scrap barricades now have sound and visual effects when destroyed Non-Halloween missions have had their threat types rebalanced for a bit better diversity across missions and variety within them Eggs are now much less likely to spawn in doorways (and when they do, they will spawn in fewer numbers) and instead are now more likely to spawn as random clutches of eggs in missions with appropriate/associated threat types Art Changed a decal set for security doors to no longer appear metallic
- Update 11: Healing Stations - 18 October 2024
Update 11: Healing Stations Oct 18, 2024 Health Stations have been added to the game! This was one of the most requested features beside the end-of-mission summary screen (which came online in Update 8) and I’m excited to say it has finally made it into the game. Be on the lookout for functional Decontamination Stations that can show up in the game in place of the big explode-y ones (you’ll know them by their friendly green screen and lack of horrible flying sparks). It will drain 100 Data collection points from your collection pool each time you use it, but it will also fully restore your health! There have also been a few other fixes and improvements added as well, check out the notes below for the full changelist: Gameplay Added Decontamination Stations that can heal injured players for a cost of 100 data Jack-o-Lanterns are destructible and net some extra Data collection when destro…

- Update 9: September 18th - 18 September 2024
Update 9 Sep 18, 2024 With update 9, we have refactored the procedural level generator's room selection and prioritization for each of the missions, with the biggest impact coming on missions that feature a "branching" layout design, taking much better advantage of the various large and small POI rooms for a more interesting layout and more active rooms. The HUD also got some love, with the look getting pushed further towards a projected / AR / hologram style effect, with matching updates to the helmet interior that surrounds it. Some of the experimental missions also got updates to better spawn threats and spawn them with a bit more diversity in which types it chooses and when. Additionally, player icons will now show each player's proper facing direction on the Map Tool screen, not just the player holding the map! It's a small fix, but a big quality of life boost for helping other pla…
- Update 8: Sept 11, 2024 - 11 September 2024
Update 8 Sep 11, 2024 This update brings a mix of gameplay, quality of life, and art improvements. The most noticeable change is that there is now a "Mission Results" screen that is displayed after exiting a mission and before returning to the Lobby. This is an early step toward a more robust post-game for players, displaying which players lived or died, how much data was collected, and whether or not they completed the primary objective of getting the Crimson Core to the POD. NERVe - the visual representation of player health (and eventually a more complex representation of player stress/sanity) was also improved to more clearly and actively reflect how close a player is to death. Check the notes below for all the changes and improvements! Gameplay Health value now correctly controls amplitude of NERVe meter readout and generally improved the readability of the player’s health value on…

- Update 6: August 15th - 15 August 2024
Update 6: Aug 15, 2024 The big change in this update is that Lobbies are back!! Not only does this make it easier to get your group together and ready before heading into the POD, but it also eliminates a major vector for mission bugs by not allowing players to join after a mission has loaded and a level has been generated. Gameplay Added new hazard/trap spawns – cryo tanks and cryo crates Made keycard pickups a bit easier to spot Art Added more “mini POI” rooms to branching style maps New assets for cryo tank and cryo crates Several small fixes and adjustments to oddly aligned assets Stability & General Bugs Lobbies are back! - Update 5: August 12th - 12 August 2024
Update 5: Aug 12, 2024 Gameplay Fixed up a bunch of connecting rooms and smaller rooms that were not properly spawning atmospheric procedural elements, hazards, traps, and threats, which should lead to MUCH more activity happening outside of the main POI rooms Threats do a better job re-aligning themselves to face (and attack) the player when fighting them up-close Hazard Cleaner now has sound fx for when it is used/triggered to make it more clear that it’s doing something when used Crimson Rips will no longer block players, creatures, or weapon fire from going through them Art Adding more ‘micro POI rooms’ to levels with a “branching” layout type, to ensure those levels see more of the unique (and navigationally helpful) spaces that tend to be cut for being too large of a room size for this generator method Fixed a number of slightly floating procedurally generated assets in rooms Fixe…
