- Devlog | August 2026 - 1 September 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! We know you’ve been waiting for the next major update for a while now, but it is very much in the works. Our goal is simple: we want this update to be as fun, stable, and polished as possible when it reaches everyone. And with the amount of new content we’re preparing (new islands, new systems, new enemies, new tools etc.) - this is not exactly a tiny patch we can simply send out into the wild. Tinkerlands is growing fast, and we want to make sure it grows in the right direction. That’s why we’d like to ask for your help and also give some of you a chance to try the update early. The Upcoming Community PlaytestWe’re planning to run a closed Community Playtest for some of the most dedicated and curious Tinkerlanders from our community. These players will be among the first to try the upcoming update and help us improve it before the public release. Their feedback wil…
- Devlog I July 2026 - 31 July 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! The next major update is getting closer and closer - just a little more patience, and we’ll finally be ready to show you much more. July was another busy month for the team: we kept polishing the game, improving visuals, and preparing new islands, events, enemies, and class content for the upcoming update. So, what’s new this month? Visual Upgrade: CausticsWe’ve been improving the visuals of the whole game here and there, and this month we wanted to show one of those upgrades: a new caustics effect in Coraline Fields. It’s a small detail, but the kind that makes the world feel more alive, more polished, and a little more magical. Water should sparkle. That’s just science. Probably.Musician ShredderHere’s a sneak peek at the Musician class using the new Shredder weapon. The Musician is all about bringing a different kind of energy to combat - less “quiet background b…
- Devlog I June 2026 - 1 July 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! It's 1st of July, so that means that June ends today when our monthly devlog drops! We've been working on so many things this month that we are very sure you are really going to love (ahem, bigger chests). But before we jump into the new stuff, we want to talk about something important. Our Recent Reviews are currently showing as Mixed. Not the most exciting achievement to unlock, we admit. We know Tinkerlands still has rough edges, and we’re not ignoring them. We read your reviews, bug reports, Discord messages, and suggestions, and we’re doing everything we can to improve the game. So here’s our small request: if you’ve played Tinkerlands, please consider leaving a review on Steam. It genuinely helps the game, helps new players understand what to expect, and helps us keep moving forward. And if you left feedback about what needs to be better - thank you as well! We’re…
- Devlog l May 2026 - 1 June 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! In May, we kept working on new content, but a big part of the month was also about improving the game based on your feedback. We read your reports and suggestions, and we’re making changes to smooth out the experience, fix pain points, and improve core systems. Here are the main things we focused on this month:Seamless Save/LoadWe’re working on an upgrade to the save/load system to make it 100% transparent to the player. It’s still a work in progress, but the good news is: it already has far fewer noticeable hiccups, and the overall flow feels much smoother. Pirate Outpost (WIP)The Pirate Outpost is still a rough WIP, but it’s coming together. You’ll find multiple buildings and NPCs there and each one will offer different Contracts, accept different token types, and provide their own unique services. In short: the pirates aren’t just “a shop”. They’re becoming a who…
- Devlog | April 2026 - 1 May 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! It’s getting hotter and hotter outside - and the same can be said about our development kitchen. April has been packed with big systems work, a juicy chunk of new content, and quality-of-life improvements based directly on your feedback. Here’s what we've been working this month: Fungal IslandWe said that longer gaps between updates would mean bigger updates and we really meant it. Here’s a sneak peek at a brand-new location: Fungal Island, along with its very own Lord. Expect new challenges and a chunk of fresh adventure content for explorers who like their islands… a little weird.ContractsOne of the next update’s major additions is Contracts. You’ll be able to buy contracts from the pirates, complete them, and earn tokens. Those tokens can then be spent in the Pirate Camp on unique items and services.Contracts come in many flavors - from straightforward errands to…

- Devlog | March 2026 - 1 April 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! Can you believe March is already over? Well, for us it's still March until we publish our monthly devlog. This month has been a weird one, while the team has been partially working on the next update, most of the development time has been spent on bugfixing and addressing community issues and feedback from the 'Towns & Dwellers' update. We created the 'experimental' branch and were able to fix a lot of issues thanks to your support. Then we pushed it to the public branch and fixed even more issues thanks to the new automated crash report tool. This month alone we've made over 300 changes, including: bugfixes, changes, new additions and balance. In exchange, we had to slow down the new update development during this month, but still, we've been working on the new update and we are now ready to share a sneak peek of one of the next update's changes: the Codex rework. The…
- Tinkerlands v0.3.3.0 - 17 March 2026
Hello everybody! You might've noticed that we've been updating Tinkerlands almost daily since the last announcement. We are doing that because now that we have the automated crash report, we are being able to catch issues that we weren't able before! We still have some reports on our backlogs for more obscure bugs that we are still investigating. But this patch addresses most of the reports we've received, at least the most common ones.Tinkerlands v0.3.3.0CHANGES- Network 'Rely' protocol is now disabled.- Crash Handler now includes the current world's mod list.- Crash Handler now includes an internal LOG for developer messages.- Reduced RAM usage in general.- \ Added a packet loss warning.BUGFIXES- \ World saving will no longer happen in the menu. - Tinkerlands v0.3.2.0 - 11 March 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! First of all, I want to give a huge thanks to everybody that took a minute to check out the 'experimental' branch. We've gather so much feedback and bugfixes. So much that we've done close to 100 bug fixes and changes in just a few days! We've heard your concerns, and we are taking steps into improving all the rough edges Tinkerlands has. So we are very happy to share that the new multiplayer protocol (that has been proven to work better) and the new collision systems are now being pushed to stable. Along with a lot of bugfixes and other cool changes, like the automated crash report tool.Let's take a quick look into the big ones:New Multiplayer ProtocolThis might sound like jargon to you, but this just means that we are using a different system to handle multiplayer (while still being the same for the player) that is more stable and more friendly with firewalls, VPNs…
- Devlog | February 2026 - 4 March 2026
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! February has been a busy one - especially after we posted our updated roadmap. The team’s been working hard, and now we’re ready to try something really important in the wild. We’re launching an Experimental branch to test a major multiplayer upgrade. Multiplayer can look perfect in the lab and fall apart in real-world conditions, so we want to validate stability where it matters most. And that's not all, the new Experimental branch also contains a new collision system that makes the world feel less cluttered, a new automatic crash report system and an overhauled ingame report tool. We've also updated our engine (GameMaker) to the latest available version, which should improve performance overall, but It's likely to introduce new bugs that we still need to find and fix.Experimental BranchAs said, the new experimental branch includes a lot of changes that might or migh…
- Tinkerlands v0.3.1.0 - 25 February 2026
Hello everybody! It took some time, but here's the first post-stable release update. We are currently focused on fixing all the issues that come up, and this update takes care of a big chunk of them. We have also been working on an interesting quality of life change that we will talk more about in the upcoming devlog, along with a new protocol for multiplayer that hopefully should work better than the one we currently have. As said, we'll discuss more about this in the upcoming devlog, along with an experimental branch so you can test the new changes. This update also includes a few changes and balance. Death Mask was a cool addition, but we've heard the complains that it might be a bit overtuned, so we are adding a penalty to it so it can still be used, but with more care. We've also started to revisit player mounts, in order to make them a bit more useful and unique between each other.…
- Tinkerlands' Roadmap for 2026 - 18 February 2026
Hello there, adventurers! We have some news to share.IntroSo far we've had two major updates that were developed each in a couple months without delays, excusing the 1 day delay recurring joke (we just don't think It's a good idea to release on Fridays). These updates contained a lot of new additions: full content islands, modding, rune system, pets, PVP, NPC friendship, mounts, weather, roof system, etc. We are now nearly the point of doubling the content we had on release, just 6 months after the early access was launched. But while we love what we do from the bottom of our hearts, this pace is taking a toll on the team. We are just a small team, with a lot of passion that wants to do a lot of things, but It's time to slowdown a little, so we can keep delivering content up to the quality that we are happy with. The current 3 month(ish) development schedule for each update just isn't en…
- "Towns & Dwellers" update is now available! - 2 February 2026
Heya, Tinkerlanders! It's been quite some time since we released the 'Towns & Dwellers' update on the unstable branch, and after a few patches and 100+ fixes and changes, we are ready to move it to the stable branch. However, we will always recommend making frequent backups — Tinkerlands is still in Early Access with so many changes happening quickly, so the chance that we introduce new bugs is never zero. New Trailer - the last two updates at a glanceWe’ve prepared a short, punchy trailer that showcases features from the last two major updates. Give it a look!A quick refresher: what’s inside “Towns & Dwellers”Day & Night Islands - a fresh journeyTwo new islands with their own progression, challenges, and story threads. So unless we get some critical bugs in this update, the next one will be the stable build. This update also brings a couple of new features, like swapping your equipment with a mannequin (this was a community suggestion), vases being now breakable with weapons or 11 new hairstyles. This time is mostly bug fixes and some game's balance (Cardion Shell users, please don't hate us).We still have a few issues in our backlog and while we are still working on them, the next patch will most likely come after the holidays. The whole team has been working very hard on this update and all the fixes and changes we've done in these days that the unstable build has been out (more than 100 different changes already!) and we really need some rest, and to pass some time with our families during the holidays. So unless anything major comes up after this update, see you after the holidays!Tinkerlands v0.3.0.3 (unstable)CHANGES- Fisherman's equipment now has a different name to avoid confussion with other items.- Resized the common teleport structure to avoid it destroying…

- “Towns & Dwellers” Update (v0.3.0.0) — Now Live on the Unstable Branch! - 1 December 2025
Ahoy, Tinkerlanders! The wait is over, v0.3.0.0 'Towns & Dwellers' update is ready to be played… on the unstable branch! Bear in mind that even when we've tried our best to catch and fix all issues, the QA we can do as a small team is nothing compared to thousands of players. That's the whole point of releasing the unstable branch before moving it to stable, so we can do a larger scale test to be sure that everything works as expected. While the game is in the unstable branch, we'll be doing daily patches to fix any issues that might arise. And while we try to keep up with all the bug reports that you send us, please forward all of them to either the Discord community, or the Bug Reports section in the Steam forums so we don't miss it. The build should be stable enough to play (to the point that we didn't have any issues during our test playthroughs) — We’ve fixed every problem we’ve been…
