You made this happen! And now… the Steam Awards are here, and we'd love your help!If Cauldron has been one of your favorite incremental minigame-fueled RPG auto-battling fever dreams this year, we would be incredibly grateful if you nominated us for Sit Back and Relax! - Japanese, German, French and Brazilian Portuguese have been added to Cauldron! - 8 October 2025
Hi Everyone! The language update is now out, with Japanese, German, French or Brazilian Portuguese as new options! There are also a bunch of other updates and fixes in the patch.General Stuff:4 new languages! We now support French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese!LOTS of performance optimizations. While working on the Switch port, I reworked a ton of code, especially around drawing. So let me know if this new version is working better for you! Everything has been tweaked, essentially. Menus should be faster, battles that were slower because of all the damage numbers popping up should be faster, minigames, dialogue, EVERYTHING!Endgame Balance: (to make those last achievements a bit easier)Enemies with Vengeful Blast have their explosion damage capped at 100/50 for frontline/backline heroes.Replaced the final ice game meta-upgrade with a more GPU friendly one, so it shouldn’t ca…
- New languages available in playtest! - 29 September 2025
Hi folks! Autumn sale is upon us, and alongside that we have an update on languages. The game is now available to test in Japanese, German, French or Brazilian Portuguese! The language update also includes a bunch of bugfixes and performance updates, and it’s available NOW on the playtest branch. The reason for us first deploying it to a playtest branch rather than to the live version is that we still need to test and see if we’ve missed anything in the localization, or if other bugs have popped up. If you try it out and encounter anything that looks weird please let us know!! If you’re not sure how to access a beta branch, simply right click on Cauldron in your Steam library and follow the steps below. Allow the game to update, and after that it should read Cauldron . If you have any other issues don't hesitate to join our Discord and ask! Thank you for reading! https://store.steampowe…

We'll be adding French, German, Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese in the coming months!A Nintendo Switch version!Secondly, we are working on a Nintendo Switch port of Cauldron! - 1.0.25 out now! - 8 July 2025
1.0.25 out now! A few small changes/fixes: I've upgraded the save-checking to avoid the random issues people are having with their save files. If anyone has lost any data, feel free to reach out and I can try to help retrieve your files, or as a last resort - create you a custom save file! The recent update that requires controller "activation" is now a toggle found in the new "Controls" menu. It is defaulted to off, since it was causing some people's PS5 controllers to stop working I put a note in the mining meta-upgrade that you can steer bonus balls Dodge's skill hits now save correctly I changed diamond and multiplier upgrade scaling in the mining minigame to make grinding for late-game achievements slightly easier
- Patch 1.0.244 out now! - 4 July 2025
Just two fixes for Patch 1.0.244: Controllers now have to be "activated" by pressing either the action, back, or d-pad buttons. This is to avoid controller drift that players were experiencing from phantom devices picked up by GameMaker Full screen has been reworked to a sort of "fake" full screen, to avoid the game minimizing for some players when clicking away from the game. If either of these fixes cause issues (or don't fix the issues they're supposed to), please let me know either in Steam Discussions or over on the Discord! Thanks! Pete

Cauldron is getting better because of all of your input, so keep it coming!Steam Deck verificationFirst of all, Cauldron has been working well on Steam Deck since release, and about a week ago became Steam Deck verified! For anyone hoping to play on their favorite handheld device, now’s your chance! The Cauldron SoundtrackSecondly, we wanted to highlight that we released Cauldron's soundtrack on Steam, and also across a variety of streaming platforms yesterday. For those of you that simply can't get enough of Andrew’s music and want to support him, go check it out!The soundtrack is created by Andrew Moon, the songwriter behind indie prog-pop band Bored with Four, and Cauldron is…
- 1.0.23 patch notes - 20 June 2025
1.0.23 patch out now! Trying something new with the mouse cursor! This should hopefully get rid of the double cursor issue The mouse now auto-activates itself if it moves a certain distance, so you don't need to click an extra time if you're using a hybrid mouse/keyboard playstyle More window size options! Keeping window size set equal to resolution is best for image quality, but there's a setting in the Video - - --- Options menu to change this now to whatever you want! Fixed error in skill trees where if you pressed fast enough you could refund upgrades beyond 0, causing all sorts of weirdness Added the "auto-talent" visual to party upgrades in the Talent menu Fixed an issue where auto-talent was still on for heroes after refunding a skill tree entirely Mouse controls now work in final boss room Added icons to the map so you can see where Nyx is, as well as where the minigames are Fix…
- Patch 1.0.22 - hot fixes - 15 June 2025
A quick fix for the cursor issue, and some other stuff! - Manually redrawing the mouse in the overworld, since for some people it seems to disappear - Added a visual to the talent menu for heroes that have a preset build selected - Cart game collect wave now shoots 3x more often - Updated minigame instructions so they have current art
- Update 1.0.21 out now! - 13 June 2025
Some more quick fixes out now! Fixed a saving issue with the spirit upgrades for elemental abilities. They should now save correctly. Refund your spirit skill tree fully to reset them! Added some new controller buttons! I've been looking into creating a custom button-mapping system, but I don't think it will be easy. For now, I've added some extra controller buttons for the apple and fishing minigames (bumpers and triggers), and added the ability to open the map with M or start/select on a controller. If anyone has any other recommended buttons they'd want me to put in, let me know!) Fixed double mouse cursor Fixed skit with Cleanse and Plague Fixed an issue with selecting Nyx during autoplay in the ice game Fixed a bug where you could get more inventory space without brewing Enemies (and heroes) should no longer be able to get more than max hp Fixed a bug where Nyx would crash the game…
- v1.0.2 - Bug Fixes and Backup Saves! - 30 May 2025
Hey Everyone! I've been working hard to tackle all the bugs and suggestions you've all been bringing to me, and this patch should take care of a couple of the big ones! Keep the feedback coming, either here in the Steam Forums or over on the Discord! Patch Notes: Starting a new game mode with effects turned off shouldn't just show a black screen anymore, I beefed up the way that saving works, so the game now does better checking that the files are formatted correctly (and not blank). I also created a backup system for savesettings.SAV, since this file seemed to get corrupted the most when players lose power or the like. Auto Fishing should no longer hover at the bottom of the level Added version number to the title screen Apple game lasers don't get canceled when hitting fancy fliers anymore Henry's Brethren upgrade will now show up correctly in your first game mode Inventory should no…
- v1.0.1 - Bug Fixes! And a big thank you to everyone! - 26 May 2025
Hey Everyone! Wow, what a crazy few days! There have been so many new players and so much feedback flooding in! We're doing our best to stay on top of it all, especially the bugs. This update should hopefully take care of some of the bigger issues, but if not, don't hesitate to reach out! Playtest Branch Since we're a very small team with limited testing capabilities, we've set up a public testing branch here on Steam where we will be pushing new builds before rolling them out on for the live version of the game. This is accessible to everyone and allows users to test out their specific issues with the latest fixes (and also gives us a little buffer in case we break something new!). If you want to access the test branch, there are instructions in the Cauldron Discord in the Playtest section. I'll be posting the specific fixes in each version, and the planned upcoming fixes. Patch notes:…
- It's Finally Here! - 21 May 2025
Hey Everyone!! It's here! It's actually here! It feels a bit surreal to say that the game is *done*, especially after the long grind leading up to launch day. I can finally take a step back and look at what's been created, and I'm more excited than ever (and maybe a little nervous) to share Cauldron with the world! I just wanted to say thanks to the entire community that supported Cauldron during its development. This game would never have come this far without the suggestions and feedback from all the people who were willing to take a chance on my silly little game. Four years ago when I sat down to goof around in GameMaker, I never would have imagined that hobby project would someday turn into the game it is today. You've all been an enormous help, both as a source of feedback and as a source of motivation to keep improving the game. I'm incredibly grateful for all the support! Thank…
- Dev Diary #9: Less than a week to go!! - 15 May 2025
Hey Everyone! Less than a week to go! I still can't believe we're almost there. These last couple weeks I've been hard at work polishing up as much as I can before release, and Jared has been updating those last minute art assets. A lot has changed since I posted last, so I'll put a list below of the big stuff. If you want to join us for the release hype, check in on our discord below! Big numbers! One of the bigger updates has been balancing the minigame progress, especially after completing a few game modes. The Fishing and Mining games were lagging a bit in super-duper late game. Our beloved underwater friend, Henry, needed a little more oomph, so I gave him a bonus upgrade to help him keep up! (see below) Some Updates Since we’re almost at the finish line, there have been quite a few updates and fixes since last time, and there are still tweaks and polish being completed for launch.…
