  New starting weapon unlock system: acquire Serpent Coins from dismantling Idols. Spend those to open special Chests that will contain a weapon unlock to be used on any following runs. Default unlocks: bone, spear, staff, fist, pistol New weapon: staff -> cast all spells you have as it fires slow-moving stars at enemies.   Depth Each portal you enter will lead you deeper into madness. Depth affects several gameplay elements, unique areas are found at deeper levels. Idols Skeleton-made temples of idolatry that spawn more enemies. Portals remain closed as long as all Idols remain standing. The Totem skeleton points at the nearest Idol for you to dismantle. Idols may drop Brains or Arms. Shops Every now and then a Shop can be accessed from portals, where any unspent keys can be put to good use. A sacrifice can be made for a Life Chest as well.
