- Goofy Gorillas v2026.0 Patch Notes - The (metaphorical) Banana Market Boom! - 15 May 2026
It's the first update of 2026 (quite late, I know), and there's a lot of new content and changes to show! There have been some significant improvements made to Apocalypse, the Toybox & Shop's debut, the Refurbished map's new make-over, a gamemode tidy-up and much, much more! The New Toybox & Goofy Shop! It's the time where Bananas finally have their moment to shine! The Toybox & Shop makes their debut in this update, allowing players to use their hard-earned Bananas to purchase recolours for their weapons! This update introduces the first batch of cosmetics for all weapons (excluding the Magic Wand), featuring mainly some basic recolouring, all for a fairly affordable amount of Bananas! In the Apocalypse: Part 1 update, players could earn Bananas and many other items from playing Apocalypse, the newest gamemode. These items didn't have any immediate value, but now you can sell Apocalypse…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.7 Patch Notes - Apocalypse: Part 1 - 20 December 2025
Welp, it's definitely not the spooky season anymore so this update is slightly late... anyways... This update brings the first co-op/solo gamemode to Goofy, which will reward players with a new currency that will be used to buy cosmetics for weapons! Apocalypse! A zombie outbreak has occurred at Goofy Gorillas and those pesky zombies have broken into the storage room and stolen a bunch of Squeaky Hammers! Now, they want the survivors! Oh the horror... Fortunately for the survivors, they are equipped with weapons and will be able to find other weapons and other power-ups in various places around the new jungle gym. These will not be free, of course (not in this economy), so you'll have to earn cash by taking out the zombies in order to progress. Do beware, the zombies can be a little aggressive... So, New Jungle Gym? This new Apocalypse-exclusive jungle gym takes the shape of the existin…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.6 Patch Notes - Locked and Loaded! - 26 September 2025
This update features the next weapon added to the already stacked arsenal in Goofy, a revision to all current guns, Prop Hunt becoming available on the Refurbished map and a bunch of extra additions and changes! New Weapon: Goofy Revolver! It has been a while since a new weapon has been added to Goofy. This time, it's one of the most iconic type of guns - a revolver! But it's not just a revolver, it's the Goofy Revolver (of course)! This weapon really packs a punch, but with great power comes... a lot of recoil. The Goofy Revolver requires precision and stability, so don't expect to hit your shots while you're running or jumping! What would a revolver be without the iconic ricochet sounds? If silly ricochet sounds and serious firepower is what you want, then this is the weapon of choice for you. In addition to the new added weapon, the Goofy Rifle and Dualies now have damage dropoff. Ea…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.5 - The Case of the Mystical Easter Eggs! - 25 April 2025
New Easter Egg Challenge: Find Easter Eggs? The Ghoulish Gorilla is back again... and he has yet another project. This time, he is in need of some Easter eggs. At Easter. How convenient! He doesn't want any ordinary Easter eggs. No, of course not. That would be too boring and predictable. Instead, he wants Mystical Easter eggs! They can only be found once a certain riddle has been solved... To figure out how to complete the riddles, you'll need to venture to the Secret Den HQ, located somewhere within one of the jungle gyms. In the HQ, you will find a board that will give you a hint on what to do next. Once you've seen the hints, you'll need to get creative! Don't worry, it shouldn't be too difficult. Once all riddles have been solved and all Easter eggs have been collected, you'll be rewarded with some unique Easter-themed cosmetics! Other Notes - You can now choose which version of Di…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.4.3 Patch Notes - Prop Hunt "1.5" - 11 April 2025
This is a smaller update that aims to make Prop Hunt more balanced and overall more enjoyable for both the Hiders and the Hunters. - Hunters in Prop Hunt will now take damage when hitting props that aren't the Hiders. If they get eliminated, they will lose 5 points (negative points now possible). Stink Bombs are exempt from this, so they should be used to clear out large amounts of props without taking damage. - Hunters will fully refill their health if they eliminate a Hider prop. - Added a "?" that appears as a Hunter when a prop makes a taunt sound nearby. The "?" will not reveal the exact location of the prop. - Removed the holes in the metal gate at the bathroom entrance. - The taunt sound delay durations have been reduced. Some Other Notes - Made some adjustments to the slide momentum + added ability to look around while maintaining the sliding momentum. - Time Trials will now rec…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.4 Patch Notes - PROP HUNT! - 4 April 2025
Prop Hunt, the 10th Gamemode! Here it is, one of the goofiest gamemodes to exist, and it is finally here in Goofy! If you're unaware of how Prop Hunt works, there are two teams: The Hunters and The Props. The Props must hide away from the Hunters until the timer runs out to score points. They will also score points for outlasting other hiders. If a Prop gets caught, they will become one of the Hunters! So, what is a Prop? If there's an object around the jungle gym that seems small enough to be controlled, then you can probably become that object and turn into a Prop! Then you must blend into the environment in order to hide from the Hunters. At the start of the round, the initial Hunter will start off in the newly renovated bathroom and will have a selection of Squeaky Hammers, Goofy Rifles and Dualies to choose from. During this time, the other players will be able to quickly find a pr…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.3.3 Patch Notes - 21 March 2025
Update Notes - The Gravity arcade game has received some upgrades to make the gameplay more interesting and more enjoyable. - Made adjustments to the ambient occlusion used with SSGI. With SSGI enabled, the game should look less flat and have more depth. - During Weapons Race, players who are on the Stink Bomb finale will now automatically receive more Stink Bombs every 5 seconds. - Fixed an issue where the outdated Weapons Race order would still be visible on the UI when replaying the gamemode. - Changed the colours of the item pickups and the Tag timer pickups, so the item pickups appear more dangerous and Tag timers correspond more to its gamemode colour. - Moved the buttons to the left side on the Create Server menu. - Changed the Weapon Race default eliminations needed to advance to 3. - Added interactable hoops in the entrance area. - Fixed an issue where the star rooms and the ar…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.3 Patch Notes - On Your Marks, Get Set... - 14 March 2025
This update features the next gamemode added to Goofy, Weapons Race! Although this is not a mode that was heavily requested, the pieces behind the scenes were already 90% in place, allowing an iconic mode to be quickly added to the roster of gamemodes! New Gamemode: Weapons Race! Deathmatch just got even more stressful! The next gamemode added to Goofy is Weapons Race, where players must eliminate players with a selection of weapons in order to become victorious! The only thing that will be randomised in this gamemode is the order the weapons will be given to you. Once you eliminate enough players with the weapon you have, you'll progress to the next one! But beware, if you succumb to a Stink Bomb attack, or get taken out by a rogue Banana Peel, you will be set back a weapon! Once you have raced through all of the weapons, the final challenge is to eliminate a player with a Stink Bomb t…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.2.3 - NVIDIA DLSS 4 Update - 4 March 2025
If you are using an RTX graphics card, the game will have already assigned DLSS to be enabled by default. NVIDIA recently released DLSS 4, which provides greater visuals when using the upscaler compared to DLSS 3. This small patch has updated DLSS to the most recent version to take advantage of the improved quality, with DLAA now also being an option in-game for those who want to have higher quality visuals over performance. This update also allows those with 40 or 50 series RTX cards to use Frame Generation (2x with 40 series, up to 4x with 50 series), just in case your graphics card wasn't already overkill. Now we wait for AMD to release FSR 4... 🤞 sponge
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.2 Patch Notes - Team Deathmatch is here! - 21 February 2025
Deathmatch has been the go-to gamemode since the start... Well, here we are, Team Deathmatch joins the current roster of gamemodes in Goofy! The update also includes a revamped game over screen, character editor presets, some quality of life changes to items + gamemodes and much more! Enter, Team Deathmatch! You've heard of Deathmatch, but what about Team Deathmatch? Well, it's here and it's just as chaotic as the regular Deathmatch! Everyone will be assigned to one of two teams: The Cheeky Chimps, or The Goofy Gorillas! Whether you want to play as a tactical team or become an unstoppable force, you can decide how you want to win as a team (less likely to be tactical)! Before the game begins, the host is able to choose who will be on which team in the Game Settings alongside the other Deathmatch settings. Revamped Game Over Screen! Now that Team Deathmatch is here, the 3 podium spaces w…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.1 Patch Notes - 7 February 2025
Quick Reminder: If you aren't already aware, proximity chat is no longer broken! Why not give it a try? This update brings the audio immersion up to standard by changing how all sounds react in different types of spaces, so now you'll really sound like you're there! On top of that, there have been some additional tweaks to proximity chat and many other smaller changes, additions and tweaks! Update Notes - Changed the default mic input threshold value to 0.2 so that mics will have an easier time picking up audio. (If you are experiencing mics cutting out, try reducing this value in the Audio/Voice options.) - Changed the max microphone input gain value to 2. - Increased the audible radius of the proximity chat. - Added audio zones in every map to make all audio within the zones sound like they're reacting to the environment. For example, a long hallway having more echo/reverb than a smal…
- Goofy Gorillas v2025.0 Patch Notes - 27 January 2025
It's the first update of 2025! This update prioritises making the Goofy experience smoother and more accessible for everyone, fixing the proximity chat bugs and there's also one big change to Juggernaut too! A Step in the Right Direction for Performance! As Goofy Gorillas has been developed in UE5 for the last 2 years, it has been utilizing Nanite to allow for higher quality assets and UE5's unique way of creating high quality shadows. These features are limited to DX12, but more importantly, limited to those with higher-end systems. This update has reverted back to the traditional way of rendering, swapping Nanite out for the Level of Detail system and using the traditional shadows. The game should now perform much better for everyone. On top of this, for those who have a lower-end system, you can now opt into using DX11 by adding "-dx11" (without quotation marks) to the game's launch…
- Goofy Gorillas 2.33 Patch Notes - It's Christmas! - 19 December 2024
Santa has delivered everyone's gifts... but where? Despite having a busy schedule, Santa decided he had enough time to hide the gifts around the jungle gyms instead of leaving them in the entrance. How inconsiderate of him! There are 3 new cosmetics that can be claimed, two are found in random gifts and the last one after finding all of the gifts. Don't worry, the locations of the gifts are more forgiving than the Halloween wisps! However... not everyone will have the same hidden gift locations. Happy hunting! New jungle gym: The Complex! As the Refurbished map is seeing a lot more action recently and it has been a while since the Original map was released, I figured a new map was due. The Complex uses the same space as the Refurbished map, but the layout is way more open and has more room for parkour. This map is designed for faster-paced gameplay, so it fits well for Deathmatch, Tag,…
- Goofy Gorillas 1st Birthday! - 1 December 2024
It's the 1st of December, which is also coincidentally the 1st birthday of Goofy Gorillas! To celebrate this milestone in-game, there are a bunch of new cosmetic items that can be unlocked, but it wouldn't be a birthday celebration without a silly birthday hat, which is unlocked automatically for everyone! New attire: - Birthday Hat - White variants of the Forward/Backwards Cap (level 6) - Winter Hat (level 14) - Frog Hat (level 17) - Thief's Mask (level 22) On top of the new attire, everyone will be earning 2x Goofy Points throughout all of December! And of course, thank you to everyone that has been playing and supporting Goofy throughout 2024! It's truly an honour to have so many people enjoy what was meant to be just a passion project of mine, now it has transformed into a real nostalgic experience for many :) -sponge
- Goofy Gorillas 2.32 Patch Notes - 27 November 2024
The Holy Grail of Dodgeball Changes Dodgeballs have had a rough history in Goofy. From originally being almost useless if you missed your only throw, they are now an effective item as players can reclaim them from anywhere. One small issue with the Dodgeballs currently is that they are using actual physics in multiplayer... Let's just say that hitting players with these is not always guaranteed, but this new solution aims to solve it once and for all. When a Dodgeball is thrown, it will now use a similar system to how player collision works with just about every other item in the game, but the closest example would be the Boxing Glove dash. While the Dodgeball is thrown and above a velocity threshold, there will be continuous checks to see if any player was hit in that time. If someone was hit, the ball will bounce off from where it hit the player. For clients, it may still look a littl…
- Goofy Gorillas 2.31 - After Hours: Part II - 9 November 2024
Halloween has now been and gone... With 4 new magic spells and an easter egg puzzle that caused a collective meltdown within the community, the 2.3 update was pretty fun, but it was missing a pivotal addition that would have been perfect for the spooky season. Fortunately, many players really enjoy the creepy feel of Goofy with Infector: After Hours, even before and after the spooky season, so to continue on that trend, this update now adds Tag: After Hours to the current roster of gamemodes! More After Hours... Tag: After Hours will have the same rules as Tag, You're It, but the map will be plunged into darkness. The Flashlights are out for this gamemode and the original items are back! Each player will have a glowstick with a unique colour that's attached to their belt. The glowstick will always be on, so you won't be able to depend on the darkness too much, so keep moving! As a stand…
- Goofy Gorillas 2.3: Spells, Secrets & Spooky Stuff! - 31 October 2024
Halloween is here, and what's a better way to celebrate the spooky season than to bring magical powers to Goofy Gorillas (amongst other things too)! New Item: Magic Wand! When the Magic Wand is equipped, the players are granted with spells that they can choose from. Each spell serves their own purpose and have their own cooldown after being used. The New Wizardry Arsenal! Fireshot: A fast and fiery projectile that deals damage to targets that are directly hit. This spell has a short cooldown, but can only deal damage to one player at a time. Also causes a small knock-up. Plasma Strike: An electric projectile that creates a small burst on impact. Any targets directly hit, or targets hit within a short radius of the impact will be shocked. Slimeball: A heavy projectile that erupts on impact of a floor surface. The eruption creates a pool of hot acidic slime that deals instant damage and t…
- Goofy Gorillas 2.2.21 Patch Notes - 18 September 2024
This patch is to mainly address issues with the new proximity chat system and the reoccurring bug that's preventing friends from joining each other's sessions. - Made a slight change to the proximity chat upon joining a session, it should now detect which voice chat setting you're using i.e Push to Talk or Always On. - Removed the max players slider from the Create Session menu. The max player count will now be 10 for every session. The option to change how many players can join sessions, especially in a friends only session was unnecessary and was seemingly contributing to the ongoing bug. - Fixed some respawn locations for the gamemodes in the Original map. - Added confetti to the game over screen. - Made changes to the new bloom effects to make them weaker.
- Goofy Gorillas 2.2 Patch Notes - Original Jungle Gym Returns! - 7 September 2024
The Original Jungle Gym Returns! It has been a long time since the original map has seen any work, but now it is back and with a big make-over! This map has taken the foundation of the original and has built upon it so that it not only plays better and fits more styles of gameplay, it now features more landmark areas so that everywhere you go should feel unique and interesting, all while maintaining the nostalgia vibe the original was known for... and yes, the bowling is back too! This new map features a new time trial and a new Fruit Frenzy with separate high scores for each jungle gym. When you switch venues, the high scores list will show your personal best for the time trials within that venue. This map is now the new default map. To change to the Reburbished jungle gym, visit the Game Settings menu as the host. You'll see the list of currently available jungle gyms and a descriptio…
- Goofy Gorillas 2.11.2 Patch Notes - 11 August 2024
This patch is more of an emergency fix to some large frame rate drops caused by some features that's planned for a future update. The rest of the features from this patch were supposed to be included in the next large update, but I figured it would be cool to bring them in here. Notes - Disabled a WIP feature that caused the huge FPS drops. - The main menu backdrop has been changed to fit the theme of the game more accurately. - Most menus have had their colours tweaked so that they are more easily distinguishable between each other. - The Dodgeball reclaim system has been adjusted again as requested through feedback. The time to reclaim the Dodgeball has been halved. The Dodgeball will return automatically if not reclaimed at the end of the timer. - Renamed 'Lobby Details' to 'Game Settings'. - Renamed 'Settings' to 'Options'.
