Hello everyone! We've been quiet for the past few months as we've been hard at work getting these last changes together. The game has been in development for almost a year and in that time has gone through several iterations, but we are proud to announce that Iron & Lead is now in full release! With the full release, you will have access to the full library of items and equipment and be able to explore the five different regions. Additionally, if you complete some secret challenges you might even be able to unlock some new tanks. - We're Back and With Some Changes! - 15 January 2024
Greetings, Gunners! We're back after the holidays and we've brought an exciting change to share! The Tank, She Moves! Throughout development, we felt like something was missing from the game, something to bring out a variety of playstyles and tactics. So, we opted to add new controls for driving the Abner Jack through the trenches. With the addition of movement, we're hoping to provide an interesting layer to the Iron & Lead experience. We’re working hard to make Iron & Lead the best it can be and we hope you all had a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Tank Upgrades: Last week we mentioned the coming upgrade system, and now we’re excited to share some more details! So let’s get into it! Spare… Parts? Turns out, when squids are blown to little pieces, they leave behind useful bits! Now, when you take down squids, they'll drop spare parts for you to collect. Gather enough, and the engineering team will offer you upgrades. You'll have three choices. If none suit you, you can trade them for spare parts for new options next time. Upgrades People, Upgrades! We’re planning on bringing a lot of upgrade options to add a little bit of adventure to each tour. - Upcoming Changes - 28 November 2023
Greetings gunners, We have some major changes we'll be rolling out in the coming weeks that we wanted to make you aware of. These changes will completely change the way you play Iron & Lead, and we look forward to hearing your feedback. Without further ado, let's get into the changes! Weapons overhaul The biggest change we're rolling out will be a complete overhaul of how the weapons work. As of right now, gunners are armed with the standard issue machine gun and can find ammo pickups for other guns as they defeat incoming enemies. We are currently reworking this system to allow gunners to choose their weapons before heading out. Each gun will be further rebalanced to accentuate a more diverse set of playstyles, allowing for a more unique experience with each tour! Greetings gunners, We have a lot of little changes and a few bigger ones with this update. The full changelog will be at the bottom of this post for those who would like to see all that's changed. News Article Overhaul The biggest change we wanted to share is that we decided to bring the narrative of the world into greater focus. To do so, we have drawn a greater focus on the newspaper, and the articles therein contained. Now, when you clear an area of hostiles, you will be greeted with an article from one of the news correspondents writing on the events impacting the city of Harland. To allow you to have a fuller picture of the story, we have also added a newsroom to the title screen for you to reference back to articles discovered on your tours in the trenches.
