  Hello all.Today I will be releasing The Carrier and Crows V2, just in time for the PVE Survival Crafting Fest.This update moves the game into Unreal Engine 5 with updated visuals, optimization, bug fixes and balance changes.The update will be free for anyone who already owns the game, and for those who don’t, the game will be available at 75% off for the duration of the festival.The demo has also been updated to reflect the changes to the base game.To accompany the event, I will be holding a sale for my second game, Lifecycles of the Traveler Spider. • The Carrier and Crows Polish Update and Demo 2.0 - 17 August 2024

  Hey all, After some time away from this project, I decided to revisit and clean up some of the games shortcomings. Here are the changes I've made: New features: -Added an interactive map that can be accessed with the M key. -Added a white embers effect and windchime sound when close to any interactable objects -Added outlines for the choppable chunks in the Giant Tree Trunk. -Added death screen with situational advise depending on death type -Cleaned up the audio ducking for all death transitions, menu transitions, and loading screens -Cleaned up the audio cue distances from some placeable items Bug Fixes: -Fixed awkward camera movement during some of the cutscenes and events. -Fixed Rifles not deactivating sometimes on death during Crow Bear sequence. -Fixed some out of place foliage -Fixed interaction distance being too long Balance Changes: -Increased The day length in the day night…

  Fixed gathered items that drop 0 quantity adding a blank item to the inventory. Fixed closing the inventory while dragging an item causing mismatched inventory.

• Patch1.06 is now live. - 24 May 2024

  This Patch Includes: -Added visuals to the opening tutorial and trimmed down some of the text. -Added an item info popup window when hovering an item in the inventory. -Increased the duration of day cycles, night cycles are still the same duration. -Added options in the graphics menus for vsync and max FPS. -Fixed screen resolution settings on first launch for computers running at a scaled desktop size.

• Patch 1.04 is now live. - 30 March 2024

  This patch includes: -Added buttons to close all menus, the esc key works to close all menus across the board, as well as the inventory key to close the main inventory and the interact key to close all secondary inventories for placeables, key inventories and tool box inventories. -Added Difficulty slider to the start of the game. This affects the amount of resources required for both learning and learned recipes. It can be set from 0.5x to 1.5x. If you have and existing save the amount of resources required for all recipes will not have changed. If you would like to play with modified resource requirements, please start a new game from the main menu. -Added confirmation menus when closing the beginning tutorial and when selecting your difficulty at the start of the game. -Fixed arrows getting stuck mid air when shooting a moving target that doesn't receive damage.

  -Added a pop up notice that triggers when trying to gather or swim with no health. -Added a Modifier Key that can be used in combination with left click to add resources to crafting lists faster. -Added a new key bind entry in the controls menu to customize the crafting Modifier Key. -Updated the opening tutorial to include info on the Modifier Key. -Increased the drop rate of meat and rawhide from rabbits. -Fixed the first hit on tree clusters not producing any drops. -Added points of interest to the map found at the start of the game. -Added Documents submenu to the pause menu that saves all found documents for viewing anytime in game. • Update adding an opening tutorial and objectives help menu is now live. - 28 February 2024

  Hey all, For those having trouble finding their way in the Carrier and Crows, I've added some more easily accessible info on the games various mechanics. Now when you start a new game you will have the option to read a brief tutorial about the basics such as the workings of the crafting window, interacting with landmarks and so on. There is also now an objectives tab in the pause menu, where you will find drop down lists for the biomes you have visited. For each objective is a dropdown that explains the mechanics for that objective. so If your stuck on an objective you can visit the objectives menu and find the objective your having trouble with. I am also keeping busy working on my next game and look forward to sharing more on that soon, but will continue to support the Carrier and Crows as long as it has an audience. • Added some fixes and functionality changes to the controls and graphics menus - 16 February 2024

  Graphics menu: -The list of selectable resolutions is now dependent on the users desktop aspect ratio, so if the desktop aspect ratio is 16:9, only resolutions with that aspect ratio will be displayed. This is to prevent non uniform scaling of the UI and mouse cursor location disparity. -Windowed Fullscreen has been disabled. This is to avoid mismatching resolutions in the menu, as Unreal Engine locks the resolution in this mode. The same results can be obtained by setting the window mode to windowed and the resolution to your monitors native resolution. Controls menu: -Added options to bind the left and right attack buttons. General Notes: **If you have an exiting save, you may need to reapply your settings.
