The Wildlife Update brings a brand-new way to document your off-grid journey. You can now discover an expanded fauna ecosystem featuring 34 unique animal species roaming across the Outbound's four distinct biomes. Photography System Visit the new Wildlife Outpost in the first biome to download the blueprint for a craftable camera. Fine-tune your shots with professional settings, including Exposure/Brightness, Depth of Field focus points, Saturation, Contrast, and Zoom. Every photo is saved directly to your Steam library and to your hard drive. Journal Update The camera automatically detects animals in view. Framing a species and taking a crisp shot logs the animal as 'collected' in a brand-new tab in your personal journal. Patch 1.1.8 just went online! Multiplayer: Fixed empty Download Terminals. Sometimes the last Signal Tower in a biome did not contain any downloads, which resulted in an empty UI. Multiplayer: Some minor stability fixes. Controllers: Improved Dog Companion Radial controls (smoother selection). Controllers: Added a missing dead zone for a stick.
- Hot Fix 1.1.7 - 971 - 10 August 2026
Hot Fix 1.1.7 - 971 just went online! This hot fix fixes the issue with the frame rate drop when using a mouse with high polling rate that started just before the weekend. This issue seemed caused by a system update that our game couldn't handle as expected. We were luckily able to patch this on our end. We apologize for any inconveniences caused. We are working on a fix for Epic Games Store and PC Game Pass right now.
- Patch 1.1.7 build 12479 - 9 August 2026
Patch 1.1.7 build 12479 just went online! We've received multiple reports from players experiencing severe lag when moving their mouse cursor over the past couple of days. We're not sure what's causing the problem, but we'd like to try rolling back a recent change we made to the input system. We hope this will fix the issue. If this doesn't fix the issue, please reinstall Outbound and let us know if the problem persists after downloading and installing this patch. Any additional information that could help us identify the cause of this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Patch 1.1.7 is now live! Bug Fixes Fixed an issue where the progression of players who joined friends' games was not saved properly in some cases. Usability Added a direction indicator to the dog companion radial menu when using a controller. We were able to track down and fix a very important bug with this patch. Many of you reported losing your progression while playing with friends. Thanks to your help, as well as the save files and logs you provided, we were finally able to identify and fix this frustrating issue. We thought we had fixed it in the previous patch, but it turned out there were multiple underlying issues causing the problem, which is why it kept happening. Patch 1.1.6 is now live! Bugfixes Fixed that while playing with controller you could give the Dog companion commands that were not unlocked yet. Fixed that while playing with controller you could check the Dog companion storage while not being in range of the dog. Fixed a regression introduced in patch 1.1.5 which caused environment states, like the broken bridges, to not properly sync at the start when a player joins another session.

Patch 1.1.5 is now live! Bugfixes Fixed an issue where a re-joining player could lose either their customization, inventory items, tools, or upgrades, or a combination of those, when they had a problem connecting to the server. Fixed syncing of picking up a carrot on a plate in multiplayer. Fixed that a red flower plant would show as a cactus plant when the save game was loaded. Fixed that players could shortly show an animation of running while interacting with something (if the player would run towards the interaction and immediately interact). Improvements Both carrots on plates and cups of coffee under coffee machines now respawn after a while.

Patch 1.1.4 is now live! Bugfixes Fainting while fishing does not lead to a buggy state anymore. Fixed a couple of fishing spots where you could fish on land. Sound of airplanes is properly paused in pause menu (single player).

We cooked up some fantastic additions for Outbound that we're happy to share with you today! Patch 1.1 is now live! This is a larger content update that introduces Fishing as the main feature, along with new buildable items such as fish tanks, stairs, and doors to expand your base-building options. Fishing Added Fishing! Added 3 Fishing Rods to obtain and craft, each required to fish in different areas. Fishing Rods can be obtained from newly added Download terminals. Added a new fisherman's hut to explore in the first biome. Added a new fisherman's hut to explore in the second biome. Added a new fisherman's cabin to explore in the forth biome. Patch 1.0.15 just went online! Bugfixes Multiplayer: Fixed syncing the pouch upgrades of the dog companion. Multiplayer: Fixed on syncing areas the vehicle drives in, which could in rare cases lead to showing the end of demo screen. Fixed the energy forecast of putting a Silverbark Lumber in the Power Unit, which provides twice the energy. Add colliders around the oases in the Canyons biome. Prevented respawning the large blocking logs at the Coast, and allow the trunk one to be harvested. Fixed the water color of the river at the top of the Mountain in the 4th biome (this was unintentionally pink). Patch 1.0.14 just went online! Bugfixes Fixed a number of issues with the elevators in multiplayer. Fix in multiplayer where in some rare cases a character would be displayed twice in the vehicle. Fixed that the dog cannot reach areas where it would go underwater. Fixed that it is now allowed to build ladders on the side of the School Bus.
