  • July update - 4 August 2026

July Development Update, Infrastructure, AEF, Security & MoreHello everyone! It's been another busy month here at Furr-Tec Studios, and we'd like to share what we've been working on across our infrastructure, the Avatar Exchange Format (AEF), Anti-Extinction, and the technology powering our ecosystem.Much of our recent work has focused on building the foundations that will support the project for years to come. While these improvements aren't always immediately visible, they are essential to delivering a stable, secure, and scalable experience.Account InfrastructureOne of our biggest milestones this month has been upgrading our account infrastructure to PostgreSQL 19 Beta 1.This upgrade improves overall database performance, reduces latency, and helps us streamline account creation. It's another important step toward opening public account registration. Our account system is being built a…

  • SDK Annoucement - 1 May 2026

Greeting, Agent We are excited to share that our Avatar SDK is scheduled to begin rolling out very soon, starting next month in May. Our original goal was to release in April... but other things had come up, so we had to postpone the Avatar SDK release. Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we made sure the SDK was ready for testing. Current SDK Status At the moment, the SDK can port any avatar as long as it contains valid VRC files. In simple terms, if you have successfully uploaded your avatar and can use it in VRChat, it should be compatible with our porting process. Before porting, please make sure you do the following: - Upgrade your shaders to Poiyomi 10 - Unlock all materials before porting - Create a backup of your avatar project - (Seriously, create a backup) The SDK is powerful, but there is still a rare chance it may mutate or alter parts of your project in…

  • Major Upgrade to Unity 6 and Unity 7 - 13 September 2024

Greeting Agents! It’s time for another major update! Some of you may have heard about our previous plans to migrate to Unreal Engine 5. After some heavy technical evaluation and unity getting there act together, we’ve made the decision to stick with Unity due to the significant challenges in porting over our unreleased mechanics and features to UE5. But don’t worry—there’s still plenty of exciting stuff on the horizon! We are full steam ahead on Anti-Extinction, now on Unity 6, with Unity 7 support coming soon to the alpha branch in our playtest version. What’s New Since We Last Spoke? A lot has happened, so let’s dive in: - Unity Issues? Solved! We’ve overcome several roadblocks we faced with Unity, thank goodness. - Demo Delays: Unfortunately, the release of our demo is delayed due to financial constraints and ongoing efforts to secure new investors. - Visual & Performance Upgrades: W…

  • Feedback on moving to Unreal - 8 June 2024

I hope you're all doing well! I wanted to share some thoughts and get your feedback on a significant decision we're considering for Anti-Extinction. Due to ongoing issues and lack of support from Unity, we're contemplating a gradual transition from Unity to Unreal Engine. Below is a detailed list of the problems we've been facing: Core Issues: Unstable Editor: Basic features frequently crash the entire editor window. SRP (Scriptable Render Pipeline) Issues: Beyond my control and Unity is not addressing them. PhysX Problems: The update from 4.3.1.X to higher versions is causing severe issues with the physics system, which is crucial for Anti-Extinction. Check out the discussions here: Stuttering Issue (https://issuetracker.unity3d.com/issues/a-1000-times-heavier-gameobject-will-stutter-when-colliding-with-a-lighter-gameobject) Physics Performance Regression (https://forum.unity.com/threa…
