Pryzm has been updated to include support for more controllers, especially on macOS where support was previously not as good. I am now able to use more older controllers that did not even register before. Do note that players on macOS are still better off WITHOUT Steam Input, due to the phantom X360 controller issue that appears or Steam Input simply not allowing the controller to work at all. Ver 1.1.7 Update Note: Updated controller support (may require a remap for your current controller) Clarity changes during events in the story will now be shown as part of the text immediately

- Pryzm: Gameplay Basics Video - 15 April 2025
Given how unknown Pryzm is, there isn't much gameplay footage for those wondering what kind of game this is. So here is the basic video tutorial of the main game shown during Next Fest for those who may be interested beyond the demo. It includes adventure portions, some hints, and one combat sequence.
- Strategy 1: True Pryzm Battles - 5 March 2025
For those who have attempted a True Pryzm run, it is immediately obvious that the enemies are much more difficult and require a different strategy compared to Normal difficulty. While most enemies could be brute forced through with spamming Attack or even using Escape, enemies now hit harder and have new actions. New enemies such as the Drainer type in the screenshot above not only attack but can also absorb precious clarity. Since starting clarity is significantly lower in True Pryzm, this means that it is almost necessary to do some clarity absorption from enemies during a True Pryzm run, The good news is that almost all enemy types contain more clarity to be absorbed by the player as well. (Hint: The leech type enemies are the best for this because they are weaker and give more opportunities for clarity stealing.) Learning to manipulate the risk probability becomes more crucial. Abso…
- Game Details 7: Rank Criteria - 22 January 2025
As you attempt to achieve rank S in either mode, you may be wondering what the requirements for it are. Ending points are rewarded from the following: Survivor count: 2 survivors = 10 points, 3 survivors = 20 points Clear time (game time, not actual real time with fast forward): Under 90 minutes = 20 points, between 90 and 150 minutes = 10 points Clarity: 1 point for every amount of clarity remaining under 20 or below, 21 points if remnant clarity is above 20 20 points if the relic is found 20 points if the last boss, Dzyll, is defeated, and an additional 10 points if the best ending in True Pryzm is attained The final rank is calculated based on the total points. Below 20 points: E 20 to under 40 points: D 40 to under 60 points: C 60 to under 80 points: B 80 to 100 points; A Above 100 points: S Also, if your ending rank is green in color, it means it is a no continue clear and the time…
- Game Details 6: Overcoming Randomness - 11 December 2024
Randomness is a challenge facing all who are trapped in the Pryzm. It is the result of the entity Dzyll altering space and time. But it did not count on some humans to have the ability to circumvent it. it is why events can be redone (at the cost of clarity) once it has been observed. This doesn't apply to just finding items. It also applies to the probability of avoiding enemies. For example, in Richard's A scenario, he is often attacked by a tainted even if he attempts to avoid it. By redoing the same scenario, his chance of avoiding increases until it eventually becomes guaranteed. This works for many other such events. However, one major factor that shapes the Pryzm happens at the very beginning of the story, the first act to be exact, the one that many players tend to skip through. Depending on the choice on the first night as seen above, players can lock in some parameters in adva…
- Game Details 5: Items Found and Clarity - 31 October 2024
Anyone who has played Pryzm will know how precious clarity is. It usually only keeps depleting. However, there are various items scattered around the world, such as the voice recorder above. When found, it INCREASES clarity by 20. The challenge is that the location of such items is changed with every New Game. You can certainly attempt to find them by revisiting stages, but each visit costs more and more clarity. So there needs to be a decision whether you want to search for them as part of your strategy or to head straight for the end goal. There are some items that remain in the same area, such as the diary above. Spoiler hint:The key to the door it is located behind is in the very same house, so you only need to redo that scene once if you didn't find it the first time. Definitely worth the clarity spent, even with a pesky enemy encounter. Be warned. There are some items and paths th…
- Game Details 4: True Pryzm Mode - 22 September 2024
Players who have beaten the game with a rank of B and above will notice that True Pryzm mode becomes unlocked next to New Game. What does this mode do? In short, Normal (New Game) mode was merely the tutorial to get you familiarized with the game mechanics and True Pryzm is the REAL difficulty of the game. Changes in this mode include: Lower starting clarity Aggressive enemies that deal more damage New enemy types Hints that show new paths are all turned off Certain enemies carry more innate clarity to absorb New areas that expand the lore and can lead to the true ending (hint is in the image) True Pryzm will test all that you've learnt from Normal mode and challenge the strategy that you will follow. There is more than one way to make it out and it is dependent on what you are trying to achieve. Are you merely trying to escape? Are you trying to save specific survivors? Are you aiming…
- Autoscroll Fast Forward Feature Added - 24 August 2024
A new Autoscroll Fast Forward feature has been added in version 1.1.4! This makes the game fast forward during the text adventure sections when autoscroll is activated. It should make replays much quicker. It is deactivated during combat, the main character selection screen, and within the options menu. Do note that this will speed through text and events that you may not have seen before. Use it at your own discretion! It also does not make speedrun timings faster as it also speeds up the internal game clock, so it still qualifies for the leaderboards. Lastly, fast forward only works within each game mode that has been completed at least once. Please give it a try and let me know if it breaks the game in any way. Thank you and keep escaping the Pryzm (at a faster rate)!
- Game Details 3: Continue+ Mode - 14 August 2024
Have you survived the Przym or are you still trapped in it? Either way, you may have been wondering what the Continue+ option does. Every new game changes certain parameters that requires a slightly different escape strategy. The overall story is generally the same, but how you survive it varies, especially if aiming for a good rank or specific achievements. Pryzm offers players some help if they find it too difficult. This is where Continue+ comes in. For those wondering how saving works, this game will always auto-save at the start of every area or scene so players do not have to complete a run in one sitting. Simply quit the game and pick up where you left off. Continue+ mode only appears just after you complete an entire game or get a game over, replacing the regular Continue auto-save file. Selecting it puts you back into the game at the start of the second act while retaining ever…
- Ver 1.1.3 Update - 8 August 2024
Ver 1.1.3 Update Notes: Fixed a bug that may crash the game towards the later part of the story Added a warning on the title screen for selections such as New Game that an existing autosave will be overwritten if proceeding, reminding players there really is only ONE autosave allowed at any time
- Pryzm Available Now - 7 August 2024
The time has come to enter the Pryzm. Can you figure out the fastest way out given the specific parameters in your run? Who will you be able to save? Will you be able to discover all aspects of the lore? The game is available now for Windows and macOS with the BIGGEST DISCOUNT at launch (like my other games). Thank you for giving my mostly niche and unknown titles a try (or even knowing they exist)! Follow the game to get hints and tips on how to improve your runs and ranking.
- Ghost of the SEA Showcase - 2 August 2024
Pryzm is part of the Ghost of the SEA Showcase, featuring horror games from Southeast Asia. While Pryzm contains themes of the supernatural and horror, THERE ARE NO JUMP SCARES OR OUTRIGHT DISTURBING IMAGERY. The main FEAR comes from having only ONE auto save while wondering if the next decision might end up spiraling a run towards an unrecoverable GAME OVER. Try the demo to get a feel for the first act of the story before the full game is out on August 7. Thank you for your interest.
