  • MIRO 1.3 - 25 June 2026

Hi everyone! It's been a while, but I have one update before we go into the Summer Sale! (Yeah, if you are planning on buying, wait for a few more hours! It will have a good discount)This update has a bunch of under the hood stuff, as I have upgraded to Unity 6! With this, I took my time to update most of our shaders to be more performant, and also fixed some rendering issues that were bothering me for a while. This is a big change, a lot of the API has changed between our old version and this one, so there might be new bugs that I was not able to catch. Here's a quick rundown of what is actually changed on this update:Better creature behaviorCreatures have more behavior trees, herbivores can fend themselves when attacked, some creatures can become curious about each other and some carnivores can engage in stalking patterns.Creature spawn rules have changed, planets should feel more aliv…

  • MIRO 1.2: Anniversary update! - 25 March 2026

Hi! Some of you might have seen the latest status announcement, so I won't repeat myself. Go read it, if you haven't. I'm sure you can find it under the news tab or something. You're smart.Today is release day for MIRO 1.2, an update that I've been patiently building over the last few months. It's not huge, but it improves some areas that were a bit lackluster. It's time for the changelog!Terrain diversity!I've changed how terrains are created. You should have more mountains and ridges to explore. It's easier than ever to get lost in a valley and be forced to climb your way out of a canyon. You should also see more bodies of water during your travels.Flora visual overhaul!I've reworked all leaf and grass textures in the game, to make sure they are less flat and look better in the distance. This has helped me upgrade my design tools, so it will be easier to add more flora variety for the…

  • Present and future of MIRO - 19 March 2026

Hi!It's me, trevizor (or Glauber, in the offline world)It's been a while, no? I hope you are all doing well. There are some reasons why we haven't launched too many updates. A lot of things have happened in the last year, and so many plans have changed. I'll give you a quick update on what those things are and where we are going next.Once MIRO's was released, I immediately started working on a new project. It was an action-packed game set in MIRO's universe. The game featured online multiplayer and procedural cities to explore and battle enemies. Of course, it was too big for a one-person team! Who could've thought!? I backported a lot of this project's features into MIRO, so that's why we had a few updates during this year.During this time, I've also been approached by a publisher, promising to work on MIRO's marketing and help me reach out to new audiences. It was an interesting intera…

Hi everyone! It's been an incredible journey so far, and seeing your reactions and how each of you approached the game has been even better than what I was expecting. MIRO is a passion project, developed barely by three people and I'm really happy with the reception. People enjoying the game is the most important thing to us.And while I was fixing all bugs and issues you guys reported, I was also working on some other things totally in secret. So, let's get to the point of this post: content added in version 1.1This update adds a lot more procedural assets to the pool, you'll notice that the flora has been upgraded with new tree models, leaves, and bushes. Some trees can get really weird.
