  • Free Enhanced Edition update available now! - 30 October 2025

For the last few months, we’ve been going through the mountains of feedback you guys have given us since release. We’ve been seeing what we can do to improve on frequently highlighted points of frustration; what we can do to add in features you felt were missing for the game to feel complete. • KCD2 publisher's stunning, troubled Norse RPG gets a whole new version just two months after launch, and it changes everything - 30 October 2025

How long should a developer leave a game before dropping an enhanced edition? It's a difficult question. The original Baldur's Gate released in 1998 (a lot of people forget BG3 has two predecessors), with Beamdog's enhanced edition landing in 2012. The spruced up version of Neverwinter Nights arrived in 2018, 16 years after its inspiration, with Aspyr Media's enhanced version of its sequel dropping in July of this year, 19 years later. In each of these cases, there's a decent chunk of time between the original and its touched up version, but this is 2025, and weird things are happening. Echoes of the End , which released on August 12 of this year, is getting an enhanced edition, and given it sits at only 425 lifetime reviews, that's somewhat surprising. Read the rest of the story... In the meantime, see you in Aema!

  • Echoes of the End review - unrelenting battles spoil a cohesive action-adventure - 23 August 2025

Choreographing the rapid-fire blows of combat in a game can be a delicate business. Think the 'tough but fair' ethos of Dark Souls that's encouraged masochists to slug it out within the game's decaying ruins, or the barely perceptible increase in reload time for Halo 3's sniper rifle from 0.5 to 0.7 seconds - a tweak that Bungie implemented to prevent the weapon from dominating matches. Such considerations enable developers to craft satisfyingly visceral fights without being too frustrating; to impart the adrenaline of combat without reducing wins to hollow victories. • Patch 1.02 | Hotfix #1 - 21 August 2025

Tomorrow marks ten days since we released Echoes of the End, and what a whirlwind it’s been! We’ve been absolutely thrilled with the support and reception we’ve received so far, but make no mistake, we’re listening to your feedback, too, and this patch, now live, is the biggest we’ve done yet. This update includes some considerable improvements to combat to make it feel more fluid and responsive, including the ability to cancel out of attacks into a dodge or parry, and some changes to how the camera and slow motion effects react to your actions. You can check out the full patch notes below (minor spoiler alert), and keep your eyes peeled for a video going into more detail on some of these changes on our YouTube channel very soon!

  • Echoes of the End (PC) Review - 19 August 2025

I blindly went into Mykur Games’ Echoes of the End, and that was for the better. From preview reactions, some noted how this game and production could be compared to that of Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 . Mykur Games also had around a 40+ team size, and invested a lot of their craft into a narrative-driven AA-title. After finishing Echoes of the End, I could say there were so many creative elements and eye-catching environments—in some ways better than Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 . Echoes of the End is a cinematic third-person action-adventure game. It blends a deeply personal, character-driven story with thrilling magic and sword-based combat, engaging traversal, and thought-provoking puzzles. Inspired by Iceland, this epic adventure offers a mature, rich, and immersive experience in a breathtaking and original fantasy world. Step into the shoes of Ryn, a vestige…

  • Update - Patch and combat update coming on Thursday - 18 August 2025

Tomorrow marks a week since the launch of Echoes of the End, but that doesn’t mean we’ve been resting on our laurels! After last week's updates, the team has been hard at work reviewing more of your feedback on combat and other issues you've encountered since launch, and we’ll be rolling out two more updates this week in response. The first, coming tomorrow (please refer to the update at the bottom of the post), focuses on stability and polish, fixing several crashes, soft locks, and other technical issues players have reported, such as missing terrain on certain hardware. You can expect improvements to a few of our boss encounters as well, with Skuggi in particular receiving balance tweaks (as well as a fix to a rare bug causing players to not receive a skill point upon defeating him), and Zara’s shield gaining clearer visuals and sound effects to communicate its function to the player.…

  • Update - A fix to shader-related stuttering - 15 August 2025

As we mentioned in our patch notes yesterday, we've been hard at work implementing and testing a fix to the shader precompilation issues that have caused some players to experience hitches and stuttering during gameplay, especially in the game's earlier chapters. Today's update (which is now live!) should go far to address these issues, but we encourage you to let us know if you still encounter hitches during gameplay after updating. Thank you all once again for all your support, and we hope you continue to enjoy your time in Aema!

  • Update - Day 3 patch - 14 August 2025

The day 3 patch is live! This patch addresses some of the critical issues that have been reported since the game launched a couple of days ago. You can expect another patch coming tomorrow addressing the shader precompilation issues that have been causing visual hitches for some players, in particular in the game's earliest chapters.Check out the full patch notes below!

  • Update - Patch tomorrow and performance fixes Friday - 13 August 2025

It’s been a busy couple of days here at the Myrkur Games studio, and we want to start by thanking you all for the incredible support you’ve shown the game! As we mentioned in our last post, we’ve been keeping a close eye on the performance issues some players have reported, particularly hitches and stutters in the PC build caused by shaders not being captured correctly for precompilation. We have found the source of the problem, which should address stutter issues caused by shaders being compiled during play.Tomorrow we’ll be implementing and testing these changes, and we’re confident we can deliver them to you on Friday, just in time for a smooth weekend of gaming. In the meantime, you can expect another patch tomorrow addressing several other reported issues.Thank you again for joining us on this journey. We hope you continue to enjoy your time in Aema!

  • Regarding feedback on performance issues - 12 August 2025

The game has been live for around five hours now, and as expected we're seeing user feedback pouring in! We're thrilled to see you all finally be able to enjoy Ryn's story, but unfortunately we are seeing that some of you are experiencing some performance issues, particularly in the game's earlier chapters. We want to assure you that we are actively looking into these reports and will be moving forward with patches to address this rapidly. To help us with this, it would be extremely useful if you would report any performance hitches you experience here in the discussions for this news post, ideally including the following:Where in the game you experienced them. What graphic settings you are running the game on (including quality settings, resolution, DLSS or other).Your hardware specs (including CPU, GPU and RAM).Thank you all once more for your support on this adventure, and we hope we…
