  • Refreshing shop no longer causes freeze + 3 new artifacts - 18 September 2026

Thanks to 夙无囿 for pointing out in their review that the game can freeze if you refresh the shop often enough. Previous playtesters had apparently not amassed enough wealth to trigger this condition or simply had found what they were looking for earlier. Either way, this bug has now been fixed, allowing you to refresh the shop as many times as you'd like! And in order to keep all this refreshing worth your effort, I've added 3 new artifacts to the game. Two of which will allow you to gather even more gold, for even more shop refreshes! Best of luck

  • Cancel button for tile upgrade in rest area and buffed final boss HP - 8 September 2026

I found that it was possible to soft-lock yourself if you had a fully maxed out inventory and then went to the tile upgrade section in the rest area. So I added a cancel button to that, so you can easily back out of it. Plus I figured it's nice to be able to choose something else if you made a mistake. I've also seen pretty much everyone just completely destroy the final boss because by the time they get there, they're very powerful. So I increased his HP from 300 to 999. Let me know if you can still manage to kill him in a single turn now!!

  • The first 2 tutorial levels can no longer result in a bugged board state - 5 September 2026

Similar to the bug mentioned in the patch I released yesterday, it was still possible to soft-lock yourself in a position where no more moves are possible, but the game doesn't register it. This time in the first two levels of the tutorial. Mainly the second level. Luckily this was an easy fix and now you can safely run out of moves again, even in the tutorial!

  • Passive artifacts no longer cause a bugged board state - 4 September 2026

I knew I had to have missed some bugs, but you move at a record setting pace! It turns out if you had any of the 3 artifacts that upgrade your tiles at the start of your turn and then managed to run out of moves to play, the game would soft lock. This has now been resolved. Thanks for being so quick to notify me of the issue!

  • Tiles & Vials is out - 4 September 2026

After receiving a lot of very useful feedback on the demo, the full version of Tiles & Vials is now out and can be purchased! Thanks to everyone that helped me make it a reality!!If you do find any bugs or have other feedback, please let me know through the in-game feedback form, the Steam forums or on Discord. I always want to make the game better and would love to hear what everyone thinks.

  • Demo Update #5 - 14 July 2026

After seeing multiple playtesters miss things in the tutorial or just flat out get discouraged by the text block they had to read, I knew I needed to improve this part of the game. So with this update I've added indicators to highlight which elements require your attention, as well as improved the pacing massively. You now see each message one by one, instead of as part of a big text block, which was never a good solution.Quality of LifeReworked the tutorialImproved the pacingAdded highlight indicatorsReworded some messages

  • Demo Update #4 - 9 July 2026

Some players rightfully pointed out that the main menu was quite bland compared to the scene where you choose your character. And when watching people play the game for the first time, I noticed that the loadout screen gives a bad first impression because it's not immediately clear what goes where. While working to improve both of these aspects, I also added some nice transitions between each screen to improve the general feel of the game.Quality of LifeRedesigned the layout of the loadout screen where you choose your tiles and artifactsImproved the look of the main menuAdded transitions when navigating to a new screen, instead of having a hard cut

  • Demo Update #3 - 27 June 2026

I realized some players were getting stuck early on in the demo because the fights felt too difficult or because they put themselves in a sticky situation by picking a 3rd tile type right away. So I've tweaked the difficulty a bit, so it's easier to start out and made sure players don't have the option to pick new tiles for their inventory until they are a few fights in.BalancingLowered the difficulty of the first few fightsRemoved tile selection from the first few fightsContentAdded 3 new artifacts to help with board control

  • Demo Update #2 - 8 June 2026

Some playtesters noted a few more things to improve upon, so with the goal of getting the demo nice and polished before Next Fest starts, I made a few more changes.BugfixesThe tutorial no longer breaks if you go in and out of character select before reenabling the tutorialGetting stuck in the tutorial no longer forces you to choose from the 3 vials that you would in the normal gameYou can no longer gain more energy than the amount of energy shown on screenQuality of LifeAdded the same internal border style to the Artifacts window as the Inventory windowAdded sound effects for whenever an attack gets fully blocked or dodged

  • Demo Update #1 - 4 June 2026

Thanks to everyone who has played the demo and especially to those leaving me feedback and reviews! It's been really fun seeing people engage with the game. As part of that, there's also been a few small bugs discovered, which have been fixed in the latest patch that just went live.BugfixesYou can no longer access a certain locked character by going through the tutorialThe artifacts that spawn offensive or defensive tiles now also spawned upgraded versions of those tiles, provided you have them in your inventoryQuality of LifeAfter beating the tutorial, you are now sent to the character (and loadout) selection firstThe coins that spawn after you gain a bunch of gold no longer block your mouse clicks
