  • Update v1.0.2 - Cutscene bug fixed - 24 July 2025

Hello, this update fixes a bug with cutscenes not playing, and showing instead a black screen.I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Enjoy spellcasting!- Marco

  • Update v1.0.1 - 19 July 2025

Hello players, With this update I address the clarity of some interactions. There have been complaints about how in the third level there are some objects don't tell the player that they can be interacted with.Floating rocks with crystals now have a floating animation.Gates that can be lifted now have a green crystal in the middle.Besides this, in level 1, in the part where you unlock Fireball, I changed the color of the last panel to black, so you can more comfortably move around once you solve the "secret" puzzle.I also updated the demo. I'll admit I am guilty of having ignored it before release since I was considering to take it down, but I changed my mind just before release.Changes in the demo:There were some gates that you couldn't freeze, typically they are timed and close very quickly. They are to avoid some common softlocks, and are now red in the demo as well. There is also a p…

  • Runa Illustra is out now! - 17 July 2025

Hello readers,Today marks a very special moment for me: Runa Illustra is finally released after two years of development! This project has been a huge part of my life, and I’m incredibly proud to share it with the world. At its heart, Runa Illustra is a puzzle game with an experimental drawing mechanic that lets you manually draw runes to cast spells and solve challenges. If you enjoy games like Portal or The Talos Principle, I think you’ll feel right at home here.Over the past two years, I’ve met so many amazing people, both at events and online, and I’ve had an absolute blast bringing this world to life. Looking back, I’m grateful for every step of the journey. Now, with the game finally out in the wild, it’s time for me to start a new chapter. I’ve been experimenting with some new ideas already, and I’ll definitely share more when I have something to show.Until then, I hope you enjoy R…

  • Tutorial Update - Demo v1.0.9 - 27 May 2025

Hello everyone! I recently had a playtest session at a local event, where I had the chance to see with my own eyes how completely new players interact with the game. The poor communication has been one of the biggest issues of the game, but all my previous playtesters were already familiar with the game, so testing the onboarding has been a challenge. I realized that most players had absolutely no clue what the game wanted them to do, so I had to guide them through the very first level before they could enjoy the game. At the end of the day, I learned that it was a necessity to explain step-by-step what the player needs to do to overcome the very first puzzle, but they also need from the very start all the knowledge needed to finish the first level. User experience was the second issue. Some interactions were unclear, with most players overlooking important details. In this update, I tr…

  • Demo Update 1.0.7 - QoL features - 5 May 2025

Hello everyone, In this update I mainly added quality of life features, trying to address the confusing onboarding for some of the players who tried the demo. Introduced a manual where there is an explanation on what each unlocked spell does, and how to use it. When drawing a new spell, the spell guide will open automatically. It also always opens at the page of your currently "equipped" spell. When a new spell is unlocked, it will sparkle in the draw menu, until it's drawing is confirmed. This way, it should be easier to locate the newly unlocked spell in the list. Because of the introduction of the guide, I removed some of the pop-ups that appeared throughout the demo. I also optimized some of the game assets, as I received some complaints about it. The main culprits were some of the trees which had an excessively high amount of vertices. Hopefully this should improve the experience f…
