  Hey everyone, hope you are off to a lovely summer so far. Over here at Hoftware.io, we are working hard to continue to iterate on It Takes a Village and provide better and polished gameplay mechanics to the game. Its been a while since we've had a proper update, so lets dive right in to the new features that I've been working on the last months. Forest Biome As a villager, you're going to want to build your village. To do so, you're going to need some new resources and recipes in order to do that and to progress in the game. Over the last two months, I've been planning and building out the first biome/level that you will take on in the game. In the image above you can see my crude attempt at level design.   Hey everyone, its been a month since my last update for It Takes a Village so I thought I'd take some time to fill you in on what's been going in the dev cave these last weeks. Village Life The main focus has been primarily focused around village life and making it as engaging as possible. I've added a basic dialog system for the villagers to give them a bit more personality and not leave them like the soulless workers they previous were. New Enemies Every good game needs expressive and interesting enemies to fight. It Takes a Village is no different. Last week I added a Cyclops enemy to be the first real test you will face as a hero in training. It has a range of AoE and ranged attacks to choose from based on its current situation.   Hello World! This is the first of many devlogs to come as I continue to develop It Takes a Village. If you are reading this, let me first thank you for your support from the bottom of my heart. Its always been a dream of mine to be able to create on a game for people to enjoy and I hope you find that in It Takes a Village. For this first devlog, I thought it'd be good to give a bit of context on the project and myself as I develop the game. First off, my name is Brandon, and I live in London, UK working full time at a fin-tech in town. I work on It Takes a Village in my free time, and I have been working on the project since I got married last July. I am a solo developer who has worked on the modeling, coding, and marketing for this project. With all of these hats, patience is a virtue in seeing progress with this game.
