- Gamescom Demo - 29 August 2024
This year we presented Astera for the first time at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. It was a very exciting moment for us to see the game played live by so many people. It was also an eye-opening event and it helped us better understand what the focus should be for the next development cycles. To name just a few areas that need to be improved: Game controls: there are still a few annoying glitches that are making the combat less fluid than we would like it to be. Story telling: we need to employ better narrative design techniques to convey the game’s story. Information design: some of our systems can be overwhelming when first unlocked in terms of information required to process. We need to introduce these systems at a slower pace and explain them better. Visual upgrades: we are still using many placeholders for environment, visual effects, and animations.
