- Shotgun Cop Man just got a free DLC that proves every game is better with bullet time - 22 June 2025
My Friend Pedro was a Flash game that evolved into a standalone release in which you played a man who used his skateboard gun-fu skills to kill bad dudes at the command of a talking banana (named Pedro). It was a lot of fun. I gave it an 81 . You could throw a frypan into the air and then ricochet bullets off it in slow-motion... Read more.

- SHOTGUN COP MAN IS OUT TO ARREST SATAN - 2 May 2025
Hello everyone, Victor is here! For me, the process of making a game usually involves a very wide spectrum of emotions. It can swing from crushing self doubt, to a feeling of childlike euphoria, all within a single day. When making My Friend Pedro the width of the emotional spectrum expanded beyond what I knew possible, in both directions. With Shotgun Cop Man, I wanted to see if it was possible to spend most of the time making the game on the ‘happy’ side of the spectrum of emotions. I wanted to focus on the parts of making games that feel natural and inspire me the most. The parts that keep me in that sweet creative flow state. It was always a bit of a gamble and uncertainty if a scaled back, focused, type of game like Shotgun Cop Man would work and find its audience. While it’s still early, and the game might not have a similar mass appeal as My Friend Pedro - I’m so, so grateful for…
- Shotgun Cop Man review - 30 April 2025
Shotgun Cop Man is a throwback to an earlier age of indie games, before the phrase roguelike deckbuilder had occurred to anyone, an age when 2D puzzle-platformers with a single mechanical hook were all the rage. "In this one you can reverse gravity." "In this one you can rewind time." Well, in Shotgun Cop Man you jump by shooting at Hell... Read more.
- Shotgun Cop Man (Nintendo Switch) Review - 30 April 2025
It’s hard to know what to say about Shotgun Cop Man that I didn’t already say when I previewed it back in February . The demo presented me with a game that was so fundamentally rock-solid that all I could really do was conclude it was excellent and move on. However, if the demo only gave me a taste of shotgun justice, the full game delivers a double-barrel blast of excellence. Much like its predecessor, My Friend Pedro , Shotgun Cop Man continuously evolves as you play, growing more complex and increasingly engaging the deeper you go. I touched on it briefly in my preview, but I’ll reiterate in case you don’t feel like searching for it. Shotgun Cop Man ’s plot is simple—you are Shotgun Cop Man , elite officer of the Shotgun Cops. You have one mission: to go to Hell and arrest Satan. It’s almost elegant in its simplicity. Throughout my playthrough, I kept waiting for some kind of Dante’s…

- Oh snap! Here we go again - Announcing Shotgun Cop Man! - 21 February 2025
Oh snap, here we go again! It’s getting close to 6 years (!!) since the launch of My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas. Bananas, indeed! Since then I’ve released the mobile version of My Friend Pedro (subtitled Ripe for Revenge) and experimented with a handful of prototypes of varying potential. But it wasn’t until about two and a half years ago I stumbled on to the seed that would blossom into Shotgun Cop Man, a precision platformer where your weapons are your wings. The idea of using a shotgun to propel yourself across the levels really resonated with me because of its simplicity close to the core of the design of the game. It felt like anything I’d build around that hook would be interesting not only for me to explore, but for players to experience too. I quickly found myself getting stuck playing longer than I intended while developing the early prototype, which is a good sign! I…
