• Accidental Finish Patch - 18 December 2024

  Some players were finishing the level without realizing, which meant to collect em' all they needed to restart the level. Now there's a caution message prior to the final hotdog.

• Community Feedback Quality Improvements - 7 October 2024

  A few small updates based on community feedback: - Modified the base of the river so hotdogs can't get lost under water (Inspired by TofuPope!) - Fixed typo in Spanish translation (caught by TofuPope!) - Improved the way forced camera perspective works in the clover area. Now uses the regular first person mode rather than changing the angle of the third person mode, which can feel unexpected and claustrophobic (thanks for the feedback Zeinstein!) - Added a soft landing sound and a little wind landing animation to make the character falling feel a bit less weightless. The animation could use a bit more work, but it's a good start. Also increased terminal velocity. (Thanks MapleThunder!) Enjoy!

• Quality Settings - 7 September 2024

  Added Quality settings to make the game playable for more folks, and more enjoyable for some people who are already able to play but with lag or weird graphics. I also updated the menu style for the Options menu to make it more readable. Please note that playing on low quality settings also increases the look sensitivity. I'm planning to add look sensitivity settings in a future patch, but for now, play on whichever setting feels the best!

• Forgotten Trees - 13 August 2024

  As part of the lighting fixes and updates from my last patch, I deleted one type of tree that was particularly troublesome. There was one place where this modified a puzzle, and needed to be rectified. Easy!

• Gravity and Lights - 13 August 2024

  While working on Level 2 I've made some changes that affect Level 1 in positive ways. The first change is that I've optimized some of the sky lighting. This should lead to some performance improvements. The second change is that hotdogs respond better to gravity. Sometimes hotdogs resting on targets remained suspended in the air even after the target under them was destroyed. This should now be fixed.

• Language Update (for Kyle)! - 16 July 2024

  This update adds a few language options to Goblin Hotdogs: Français (French) 中文 (Simplified Chinese) Русский (Russian) Español (Spanish) Português (Portuguese) Deutsch (German) 日本語 (Japanese) Polski (Polish) 한국어 (Korean) These translations were done using a combination of Google Translate, DeepL (an LLM focused on language translation), and, in the case of French, assisted by my own (limited) bilingual abilities. French was my first choice for inclusion because of my Canadian heritage (et c'est un hommage à mon homme Kyle). The rest of the languages were chosen because they represent the top 10 most popular languages among users on Steam. There is no speech in any human language within the game. The amount of text in the game is also intentionally minimal, and the plan it to keep it that way even as narrative is added. The menus have been changed to use symbols in some places to further…

• Jump n' Jitter - 4 July 2024

  Incremental improvement tackling a couple quality issues: Players have reported a drop in framerate in some of the forested areas. While I haven't eliminated this issue completely (yet), the issue shouldn't be quite as bad, as I've pruned the forest in the areas that were worst affected. Goblin no longer does "Bugs Bunny style" mid-air running. lol the right version of this would be cute, but this version wasn't, and the "footsteps" sound mid-air was sloppy rather than fun. Fixed!

• Post-Game Scoreboard - 4 July 2024

  An incremental update that adds a scoreboard to the post-level screen, showing the player's current run and their best run, and encouraging them to find all the hotdogs if they haven't yet done a complete run.

• Deploy the Hotdog Safety Net! - 27 June 2024

  A couple players reported a bug in which a couple specific hotdogs were prone to clipping through the ground after the hotdogs were shot down from their initial positions. I'm not yet sure why this is occurring, and I hope to find a proper reason and a proper fix, but in the mean time, I have deployed the Hotdog Safety Net! If a hotdog clips through the ground, you should still receive credit for finding the hotdog, indicated by a sound and an uptick of your "hotdogs found" counter. A better solution may follow, but for now this should ensure players at least get the credit they deserve. Cheers! Jon, Spritemage Games

• Minor Patch - Edge Casing - 24 June 2024

  Updates: Flattened ground around a couple hotdogs that were reported clipping through the ground (this may only be a partial fix). Force perspective in the clover grove to give the player the sense they're in the thick of the plants. QoL around the edges.
