  Well hey there stranger! Long time no see. Today marks a whole YEAR since we launched into Early Access.. and a whopping eight months since our last public update. Now, a lot of you have been playing on our Beta branch since February, but there's plenty new here for that lot as well. So let me shed some light on what's been going on at the Lab: Following our 'Physics Update' last October, we got straight to work on a modular board setup so players could customize more than just colors. In refactoring the board setup we created a LOT more work for ourselves & had to essentially rework every system in the game to accommodate.. and while doing that I revisited the question "should we add a skater?" since doing so would likely require similar reworks. • Physics & Replay Update - 8 October 2024

  Hey hey hey! So we've been focused hard on physics for the last month or so & made BIG progress on some core mechanics. Is the work done? Not by a long shot.. but things are moving in the right direction and we're excited to share where we're at. We had a lot of goals going into this update & one of the most crucial was to soften the learning curve for new & existing players by making board control overall more intuitive. To that end, we have two new stats - Auto Level & Grind Stabilization - as well as a handful of physics refinements. Along with these changes, we've filled in some large gaps in the Replay System! Replays now have sounds, slomo, and keyframing; PLUS you can see your control overlay in replay & watch your precise inputs throughout gameplay. • Object Dropper Update - 20 August 2024

  Hi there! Since our last update, we've been set on making progress with SkateLab's Object Dropper. Our primary goals were to add the abilities to spawn new objects, and to save & load map layouts.. and of course to add more placeable objects to the game. This necessitated reworking a lot of the object dropper's back-end to enable more flexibility for us and modders. In the time it took to do that, we managed to accomplish a few more things.. and today we're stoked to be sharing the progress with you!
