Hello Cosmonauts! The Cosmic cosmonaut Demo, version 0.1.5 is out now, with a couple of smaller fixes: The use of Escape key is now more intuitive. It will close more of the currently active window or screen, making navigation quicker and more consistent. Minor adjustment to Ruroli's (purple alien) dialogue. Hello Cosmonauts! I bring a new update, in the form of version 0.1.3. New Content Diamond Rain: Added a "Diamond Rain" curiosity to Neptune. Alien Translation: There's now a short new section before meeting the purple alien, showing the player that there is now translation being done by the onboard computer. Improvements & Quality of Life Radar: Ships are now displayed with different colors on the radar for better identification. Dialogue: Updated dialogue scenes to now show character names. The text and name panels have also been improved. UI: The general text display in the GUI has been slightly improved. Gameplay: The in-game passing of days has been slowed down by 4 times. Fixed an issue where no quest arrow would direct the player back to the station after destroying satellites (quest step). Addressed some Mars voice lines not matching the character or causing text to skip. Fixed missing selection outline for Laika Station. Corrected typo in Laika Station commander dialogue ("you.s" to "you."). Corrected typos in Rikhter R23 weapon description ("acual" to "actual", "pobably" to "probably") Improved: Sol target practice quest now correctly sets its tracking target while in progress. I'm pushing hard across all aspects of the game – from core mechanics and level design to polishing existing features and squashing pesky bugs. It feels fantastic to see everything coming together, and because of this momentum, I have some exciting news: I am officially targeting the end of May or early June for the release of the public demo! Although quite a few elements of the gameplay in Cosmic Cosmonaut are not related to combat, there will be a time where you will be required to defend your fleet in fierce cosmic battles. As fleet commander, you command a fleet of up to 9 ships, carefully choosing your composition to maximize your strength. Your opponents will also have a fleet of up to 9 ships, ready to challenge you at every turn. These battles are in real time - making sure that there's always action on the screen at any time. Targeting You can take control of your ships' attacks, either by letting them automatically target enemies or by manually focusing fire on specific vessels. Special Abilities You can also use powerful special abilities that can turn the tide of battle, for which you can purchase ammunition to replenish these abilities and maintain a tactical advantage. Hey everyone! It's been a little while since I last checked in, so I wanted to give you a quick update on what I've been working on. Quests There's been made significant progress on the quest system, which will add more depth and direction to the gameplay. Quests for example can now have starting and ending conditions, and can respond to events in game. There's also a quest target indicator next to your ship, so you never lose the way. For more experienced players, this indicator can be turned off! Trade I've also been refining the trading mechanic, making it more dynamic and rewarding - as each trading port has it's own prices and available goods. To expand the universe, I've added more planetary systems for you to explore, each with its own unique characteristics and things to explore. A few years ago It all began a few years ago during an open day at ESA ESTEC. The experience was surreal. Walking through the corridors of a place where dreams of space exploration are turned into reality was like stepping into the future. But it was the presentation by a Romanian cosmonaut about the Space Race from the Soviet Union's perspective that truly ignited my imagination. Their words painted a picture of a world where the Soviet Union was not just a geopolitical entity, also talked about some of the stories and things that happened behind the scenes.
