  • Where Was I Again? - 20 June 2026

Greetings, adventurers! Clarissa here! It's been a pretty great Next Fest so far! I've gotten to meet quite a few cool streamers who've really taken to Enigma Heart, we've received some really valuable feedback on the game and how we can improve things going forward, and it's just been immensely gratifying seeing how much the game is resonating with people. You, the players, are why we do this. And it's been awesome. In our Next Fest wrap-up post a few days from now, I'll give shoutouts to some of the especially nice interactions we've had -- and new friends we've made -- this week.A Funny Thing Happened to Me on the Way to the Grain MillSo, over the past month, I've gotten several requests for this feature, and while I wouldn't say I've brushed it off (I take every bit of feedback seriously, whether I ultimately act on it or not) I must admit that I've resisted it a bit.Enigma Heart has…

  • Power Up With Pride! - 5 June 2026

Greetings, adventurers -- Clarissa here! Power Up With Pride 2026, a charity speedrun marathon supporting Point of Pride, is ongoing now, and we're thrilled to be a part of it! I'll be on the couch on Sunday as speedruns Enigma Heart's demo! I'll be chiming in wherever I can, mostly to explain details, maybe laugh a bit at how silly the cutscenes are in auto-skip mode, and just generally have a lot of fun raising money for a great charity. We're on at 5:11 p.m. EDT. You can find the full schedule for the marathon here, and the times are displayed to your local time zone so you know exactly when to tune in. (But also, check out the other runs too -- it's a great cause, and a lot of great games are being played this weekend!)Hope to see you there!Power Up With Pride 2026:When: NOW! 5-7 June 2026Where to watch: Enigma Heart:Run starts: Sunday 7 June @ 17:11 EDTPlay the demo: As always, you…

  • Unlimited Power (Until It's Not) - 3 June 2026

Greetings, adventurers!Clarissa here. In what's hopefully the last update before Steam Next Fest (barring any bugs -- knock on wood!), we have a handful of small improvements, and one rather significant one:The Little Stuff (but just as important)Fixed a bug where, while in a dungeon that has a map (in the case of the demo, Danab Palace and Brygate Grain Mill), if you load a saved game that's in that same dungeon, the dungeon map system got reset, making the game think that there's no map for the current dungeon. Selecting "Map" from the pause/magic menu would then show you the overworld instead.A conversation with Hilda during the Penny quest that triggers automatically if you go to the Purple Labrys first, wasn't skippable. It can now be skipped with a button press, like any other NPC conversation.Fixed a bug relating to player placement after a New Game or Continue following a very s…

  • Demo update (25 May 2026) - 25 May 2026

Greetings, adventurers!Clarissa here. We proud to announce another update to Enigma Heart's demo, available now! We've received some wonderful feedback from demo players, and have incorporated quite a bit of it.UI/Quality of Life:One of the biggest changes is the UI screen shown above. Previously, there was no way to review which skills you've learned and which ones you had yet to learn, except when picking a new one during a level up! The new "Skills" screen, available directly from the main menu, fixes that. When interacting in towns, signposts no longer take precedence over NPCs. If there's a villager nearby, and you press "Talk", you'll talk to that person, even if you're standing directly on top of a sign. That's the way it should have always been. :)Both the post-boss fight lore dump cutscene and the end-of-demo epilogue now advance their text by a user button press, rather than by…

  • Bug fixes and QoL update - 22 May 2026

Greetings, adventurers!Clarissa, lead dev here. The response to the demo has been overwhelming in the best way! Thank you so much to everybody who's played -- and is still playing -- Enigma Heart's demo so far. Remember to wishlist Enigma Heart if you haven't already, and spread the word! We've been collecting feedback and doing more playtesting ourselves ahead of Next Fest, and we've got a bit of an update that's available right now. Here's a rundown what's new and changed:Steam featuresFixed an oversight in the Monsters, Ink. achievement where an enemy was left out of consideration for the achievement. The required-enemies list is now accurate to the demoAdded a new hidden achievement, Grind Your Way to Success, which rewards being able to destroy the enemy Paro-ita, which can only be destroyed with a skill learnable after achieving level 15. Someone actually did this, which blew my mi…

  • 1,000 Wishlists! - 13 February 2026

Hello, adventurers! Clarissa, lead dev of Enigma Heart, here. Yesterday, we crossed 1,000 wishlists! That means quite a lot to us. Each wishlist represents someone who saw something in this project that resonated with them, and felt it was worth keeping an eye on. That's huge. Thank you. 💜️When I began work on Enigma Heart back in 2024, it was just a rough prototype: a between-projects experiment, really, to see if I could take a cult-favorite formula (from basically my favorite game of all time), flesh it out, modernize it, and add themes and a story that meant something to me. Obviously, something clicked along the way and it became much more than an experiment. And while there's certainly a ways to go, the fact that 1,000+ people are excited about it now is pretty awesome.Where We Are NowEnigma Heart is mostly feature-complete: the combat feels good, there are only a handful of skil…
