  • DevLog: "Submerging" Below the Horizon - 16 August 2026

Climb to the second floor, and you'll catch the sunrise 15 seconds earlier. We all know the Earth is round, but on a human scale, treating it as flat usually works fine. In reality, though, the curvature kicks in much faster than we expect—which is exactly why modern naval defense is inherently so difficult. This update focuses on enemy AI air defenses. By the mid-20th century, rapid advances in aviation rendered traditional surface warships largely obsolete. Massive battleships faded into history, but a few surface combatants remained. To survive, they adapted, bristling with anti-aircraft weaponry. Decades of evolution followed, pushing air defense systems to the point where modern ships can intercept targets even in outer space.Over the past few months, we've been implementing the core mechanics of these defenses. Large interceptors launched from a VLS excel against high-altitude targ…

  • Development: Clockwork Fleet - 27 February 2026

First, I apologize for the year-long silence. As I'm in my final year of university, I spend most of my days chained to the lab. But don't worry—I've been steadily chipping away at this project in the background. Most of my recent progress involves friendly and enemy AI. As you know, many games feature AI-controlled enemies or racing cars. But let's face it: those aren't real enemies. Their actual job is to hold out for a few minutes before gracefully losing. They aren't genuinely trying to beat you. In military sims, however, balancing this handicap with realism is a constant struggle. For sim enthusiasts, realism is king. But if the AI attacked with the uncompromising ruthlessness of a real military, you'd have to restart the first tutorial 68 times just to beat it.I didn't want to do that, so I started researching how to build optimal AI. I began with a simple Switch-case finite state…

  • Development : Ballistic Missile Submarine - 19 October 2024

Knights with swords galloping across the plains, engaging in fierce battles... long ago, that's what war looked like. Then, the miracles of industrialization by modern civilization changed everything. Weapons became more powerful and complex. Making tanks and fighter jets required loads of factories. So, wars began to be fought in factories. The path to victory was outproducing the enemy in weaponry. But this was a tough task. Then the generals had a brilliant idea: destroy the enemy's factories. A new era of warfare had begun. Around the same time, scientists were working on a new bomb that could obliterate entire factories and cities. It was perfect for this new age of war. Everything was there at the right time. To quote Victor Hugo: "Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come." Submarines and Nuclear Weapons We often think of submarines as smart hunters, but that’s on…

  • Development : Explosion Artist - 10 September 2024

I remember playing GTA5 back in 2013 and being absolutely thrilled by the thick, immersive explosion effects. I would steal a tank from the military base and go on a rampage, destroying every vehicle in sight. Those explosions were addictive! Now, I’ve finally transitioned to being the one creating explosions (safely, of course). A famous Japanese sculptor once said, “Art is explosion.” He meant it metaphorically, as a way to express emotions. But I believe "explosions are art". This isn’t a metaphor; creating beautiful explosions requires an artistic touch. Nowadays, these experts are known as VFX artists. The only problem was, I had no experience or knowledge as a VFX artist. But then again, most developers are not great at predicting future problems, which is why game release dates get delayed so often. Feeling lost, I browsed the Unity Asset Store and found some amazing products. Th…

  • Development : Behind the Nuclear Power - 17 July 2024

When I was in elementary school, I couldn’t trust the ground beneath my feet. I feared it might one day sink into a sea of magma. Fortunately, that was a misunderstanding on my part. When you look at a cross-section of the Earth, it seems like there’s a vast amount of molten rock beneath the crust we live on. But in reality, it’s not liquid. Due to the high pressure underground, it remains solid even at high temperatures. This phenomenon was discovered hundreds of years ago, back when science was still called alchemy. By applying high pressure to a substance, you can prevent it from melting or boiling. This discovery revolutionized navies centuries later. Pressurized Water Reactor One of the critical issues in reactor development was finding a way to isolate water contaminated with radioactive materials. As water passes through the reactor core, a nuclear reaction called the (n-p) react…

  • Development : Torpedo in the water - 16 June 2024

Stealth is not the only reason submarines are said to be the most powerful. Modern torpedoes have unparalleled power on the battlefield. Since the advent of the self-guided torpedo, all kinds of decoys have been developed to fool it. However, it is now known that many of them do not work well enough. The torpedo's search algorithm is designed to either ignore the decoy or return and attack again even if it misses the enemy. In other words, it is very advantageous to the attacker. Asymmetries like this are also a bit tricky to create games. Looking back at other games, it is clear that unbalanced weapons ruin the battlefield. Therefore, I have established these policies. - Avoid making the torpedo’s search algorithm more advanced. Simplifying maneuver patterns during re-attacks allows defenders to avoid them. It also does not have advanced target identification capabilities such as image…

Short description

ARKWHALE is a new submarine casual simulator. As the captain of a submarine, you will devise tactics, navigate your vessel, and carry out dangerous missions to annihilate enemies. Experience powerful weapons and advanced underwater technology!

About this game

"Mankind built a new Ark to protect civilization. But unlike in the first time, they faced a paradox that was itself a disaster." ARKWHALE is a new submarine casual simulator. As the captain of a submarine, you will devise tactics, navigate your vessel, and carry out dangerous missions to annihilate enemies. Operate complex nuclear turbines, adjust the weight of ballast water, and utilize a high-performance sonar system to ‘silently’ dominate the seas around the world. **Note** This is a personal project developed by students. Therefore, the game may contain some basic bugs and issues. These are expected to be gradually improved with updates, but there may be inconveniences in the initial release. Your understanding is appreciated. Beautiful 3d models A multitude of playable submarines, including those from US, Soviet Union, Britain, and Japan! Beautiful 3D models crafted for this game highlight the allure of submarines! Seven boats are available at the initial release, with more to be added in updates. Manually Controllable Reactor System It’s not just about combat! Operate a nuclear submarine from scratch with your own hands! Control rods, turbine rotation, circulation pumps, condenser temperatures, steam bypass valves… Come and experience the culmination of complex engineering technology! Casual Sonar System Underwater acoustic models are different from the real thing. But the iconic sonar screen is there to help you relive reality. Diverse Mission Modes Three game modes are planned! Quick Play: Speedy and exhilarating, concluding in 15-30 minutes. Situation Mode: Overflowing with realism, lasting over an hour. Story Mode: An emotional journey exploring hidden underwater history. (currently under development). What This Game Does Not Do This game is not a hardcore simulator. Therefore, the performance and operation of the weapons featured differ from their real-life counterparts. I started making this game with the hope that more people could easily experience submarine warfare. Thus, while maintaining the essence of ‘submarineness,’ we adhere to the basic principle of not making it overly complex.

Price History Overview

USD uses SteamPulse's own locally recorded daily store snapshots, so this overview reflects the exact regional price history that SteamPulse has captured for this currency.

Coverage And Tracking Window

  • Snapshots: 1
  • Coverage: Oct 6, 2026 to Oct 6, 2026
  • Lowest observed: $0.00
  • Highest observed: $0.00

ARKWHALE's USD price history spans from Oct 6, 2026 to Oct 6, 2026, with 1 recorded snapshot across 1 calendar day. Each row records the available final price, listed base price, and discount metadata for that observation. Within this coverage the lowest recorded price is $0.00, the highest is $0.00, and the first visible tracked price is $0.00. These comparisons apply only to the snapshots SteamPulse holds; missing observations can contain changes that are not represented here.

For USD, SteamPulse uses locally captured regional storefront snapshots and does not reconstruct older prices with exchange-rate conversion. The chart and table show the values recorded for this exact currency from the stated coverage start. Additional snapshots extend that record, but they do not fill unobserved days or prove what the storefront displayed between observations.

Discount Windows And Sale Timing

  • Discount windows: 0
  • Discounted days: 0 days
  • Deepest markdown: No discount tracked
  • Latest sale window: No sale window tracked

ARKWHALE's tracked USD rows do not contain a discount window. This means no available snapshot in the stated coverage has usable discount metadata; it does not prove that the game was never discounted. Missing snapshots or archived rows without complete metadata can hide a sale, so SteamPulse does not infer pricing strategy from this absence.

If a later snapshot includes discount metadata, it will appear here with its recorded depth, price, date, and sale name when available. Until then, this section should be read only as a description of the available rows, not as evidence about the publisher's promotion policy.

Observed Price Changes And Stable Runs

  • Observed price drops: 0
  • Observed price rises: 0
  • Longest stable run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking
  • Current run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking

Outside rows carrying discount metadata, the tracked price has not recorded a separate price rise or drop yet. That means the observed undiscounted level has stayed stable across the snapshots SteamPulse currently holds. This is a statement about the recorded coverage only; it does not prove that an older or missing price change never happened.

The longest unchanged price stretch in the current record lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00, from Oct 6, 2026 through Oct 6, 2026. Among rows without discount metadata, the longest unchanged run lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00. The latest run records $0.00 for 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking as the same recorded undiscounted price. Run lengths describe consecutive stored observations only and do not establish that a price is permanent.

Latest Snapshot And Sales Context

  • Current price: $0.00
  • Current list price: $0.00
  • Distinct observed prices: 1
  • Source mode: SteamPulse local tracking

The latest tracked snapshot records ARKWHALE at $0.00 in USD, with no active discount metadata. Across the available history SteamPulse has recorded 1 distinct final price in this currency. This supports comparisons with the lowest, highest, and most common values present in the retained record, subject to the stated coverage limits.

The live sales view and Steam sales record provide calendar context for these dates. A date overlap can be compared with a named Steam event, but it does not prove why a publisher changed a price. As new daily rows arrive, this overview recalculates its observed prices, discount windows, and run lengths automatically.
