- 1003.24 Update - 3 October 2024
The number of cartridges spawned has again been slightly reduced, but the number of typewriters in the game has been slightly increased. The game difficulty has been split into Normal and Hard. On Normal difficulty, no cartridges are spawned, and instead saves do not require cartridges. All saves created prior to the patch will be designated as Normal difficulty. We originally considered auto-saving as the game progressed, but it was difficult to determine if the player's current state was a good time to save or not, no matter how many conditions were in place. If the conditions were too tight, the auto-save might not work well, and conversely, it might save in situations that were too dangerous. For now, we removed the biggest conditions for saving and added additional typewriters that were too far away from the typewriter. The added typewriter is also available on the Hard difficulty.
- 0926.24 Update - 26 September 2024
Fixed an issue where the scene would stall on a black screen during data initialization on first run.
- 0918.24 Update - 18 September 2024
Fixed an issue where creatures would not leave the cabinet for long periods of time. Reduced stamina consumption per second when running by 25% and increased stamina recovery rate by 10%. We've also made some minor adjustments to creature movement speed. Reduced the feeling of creatures wandering around when the player is in a cabinet. Added descriptions for lights and sounds.
- 0915.24 Update - 14 September 2024
The number of typewriter cartridges create has tripled. We wanted to make sure that while players were exploring the underground in search of objectives, they were also prioritizing the search for cartridges, but we realized that when you're being chased by monsters, it's not always worth the risk to search for cartridges once the objective in the current area has been completed. We believe this is because we have intentionally hidden information about how many cartridges there are in total in the game, and what the algorithm is for distributing them throughout the game. We're not sure what the right number of cartridges is for optimal balance, but we've decided to drastically increase the number to address the all-too-frequent frustrations we encountered early on. Loading a saved game will also regenerate the number of cartridges that should be added.
- The Cesspit is now live! - 13 September 2024
The Cesspit is a first-person adventure horror game set in the deep, dark sewers. With only limited resources, you must escape the dark and deserted sewers relying on sight and sound! We've done a lot of testing and tweaking in preparation for launch, but due to the limitations of a two-person development team, there may still be gaps, unexpected bugs and errors. If you're experiencing any issues or have any feedback, please feel free to post in the Steam Discussion!
