- Demo update v. 0.26.1 - 25 May 2026
Hello everyone! Just a quick heads-up: yesterday we published a new update for the ScribeRPG demo. This update includes two important changes:1. Expanded starting area We extended the opening area of the game to give new players more time to get familiar with the mechanics and absorb all the information introduced at the beginning. We hope this makes the opening feel more comfortable and easier to settle into.2. Sprite lighting fix for GeForce 5000 series cards We discovered a rendering issue affecting sprite lights, mostly on GeForce 5000 series cards, which caused visual glitches during sunrise and sunset lighting. After a lot of testing and bug hunting, we found out this is actually a Unity-related issue. As a workaround, we switched the game’s rendering to the Vulkan API, where these glitches do not occur. Not the fix we expected - but after a very long round of research, testing, and…
- ScribeRPG demo update - 1 May 2026
Hello everyone!Yeah… this one took us a bit longer than planned - but hey, life happens. The important part is: it’s here now, and we think it was worth the wait 🙂🔥 The new version of ScribeRPG demo is live! 🔥Here’s what’s new:1. Brand new control scheme We’ve completely rebuilt the controls scheme from the ground up. Returning players - definitely check your key bindings. All updates are reflected in the in-game hints and tutorial.2. Improved combat feel Close combat just got a big upgrade. Movement now directly controls your character’s facing direction instead of turning your character with the cursor. Making fights feel more fluid and natural. In shooting modes, the original behavior remains - the character always faces the cursor.3. Auto weapon holster No more constant micromanaging. Your character now automatically holsters their weapon after a set time. Want control? You can t…

- ScribeRPG Development Update - 6 December 2025
ScribeRPG Development UpdateWe’d like to give our followers a quick update on our current progress in game development and how close we are to releasing our free demo.Long story short: we’re close. But that doesn’t mean we’re done. We’re running our first internal playtests and implementing improvements, as well as fixing any bugs that come up. These early playtests are very important to us, and we believe they will help make our game more solid and more user-friendly.It’s incredibly interesting to observe people playing our game for the first time. We’re gathering tons of valuable information about how our mechanics work and how the game feels overall. We think we’re really hitting the mark here. Otherwise, the demo is almost ready for release, and if everything goes well, we will release it sometime at the beginning of 2026.Wish us luck! And if you can, please spread the word about Scr…
- Developement progress - 10 July 2025
Hello everyone!Let’s share a few words about where we stand with the development of the promised ScribeRPG demo.As you might expect, we're mostly fixing bugs and polishing content. No surprise there - it probably sounds like the classic game dev line when trying to look super busy. 😉 But trust us, in our case, it's absolutely true. Our bug list grew, especially after we completely rewrote how the game handles controls. We did this not only to support fully customizable controls, but also to ensure that any type of controller works with Scribe RPG. It might sound routine, but this change was a major challenge for us.But we did it, and now the game easily recognizes controllers and switches to the correct bindings automatically. That gave us a solid foundation for the next big step: Steam Deck support. We believe our game is perfect for Steam Deck users, so we want to make sure the experien…
- Scribe RPG is packed with action. - 28 April 2025
This is just a showcase of the kind of action you can expect to encounter in Scribe RPG. We’re working hard to fine-tune all the systems and enemy AI to deliver a fully playable demo in the highest possible quality as soon as we can. Please spread the word about Scribe RPG and add it to your wishlist. We truly appreciate any support. Thank you!
- NPC patrol an navigation - 3 March 2025
Hello everyone! We've just successfully implemented our advanced patrol and navigation system for NPCs! As simple as this feature might seem, it took us much longer than expected - but we’re certain it was worth the effort. Originally, we planned for classic NPC behavior, like in most action platformers. This meant NPCs would mindlessly walk back and forth, waiting for the player to show up and then get clobbered. Since our game has many other features, we thought simple NPC behavior like this would be enough. But we changed our minds. 🙂 We decided to let NPCs move through the world just like the player can, actively chasing player and navigating the obstacles of our organic environment. This has added a whole new level of dynamic gameplay, creating unpredictable encounters throughout Scribe RPG. Now, we’re charging full steam ahead toward finishing our free demo, fixing bugs, and poli…
- Scribe RPG Development Update - 7 January 2025
After a long period of radio silence - when we were fully focused on development - we’re excited to say we’re back up to full speed! Our goal is to release a playable demo of the game soon for all of you to check out and, hopefully, enjoy. What we have: The entire demo and all its content are already in place! We’re now fine-tuning the writing, quests, and other gameplay elements, as well as finalizing the graphics and sound. What we are working on: We’re wrapping up and fine-tuning our combat mechanics, and most importantly, we’re implementing a robust navigation system for our NPCs. Originally, this wasn’t something we had planned for the game. However, NPCs patrolling the world or actively chasing the player - using everything the player can, like ropes, ladders, platforms, and ledges - felt like a must-have. We believe it greatly enhances gameplay versatility. Please stay tuned much…
