- Fangtopia is a scarily delightful puzzle city-builder that I could probably sink my fangs into for a few hours - 19 November 2025
A bit of creepy crawly, low-key city building? Ah, go on then. October and Halloween might be behind us, but Fangtopia is a puzzle game stroke city builder that still feels appropriate for late autumn. Having had a go with its demo, it's deceptively simple, in fact it felt so simple I wasn't entirely sure if I was doing anything at all. But when it clicked, all the pieces fell into place resulting in a pleasantly chill time. Read more

The studio was co-founded by industry veterans James Brooksby and Adrian Hawkins and - since its founding in 2019 - has built a passionate and talented team. “The team at Absolutely Games have loved making Fangtopia thus far, and we're really happy that the demo had many of our players - including our friends and family - asking for more,” says James Brooksby, CEO of Absolutely Games. “Now with Secret Mode becoming our publisher, we can grant that wish and get cracking on making Fangtopia even more spooktacular!” Secret Mode is the independent publisher behind cosy titles such…

- New & Improved Demo! - 22 October 2024
Hi everyone! We’re very pleased to announce that a new demo is available now for Fangtopia! We will also be participating in the Steam Scream Fest starting October 28th. Here’s a rundown of some of the changes you can expect to see in the new demo… New-style Monster Tiles Monster tiles have been revamped in a couple of key ways. Each monster type now has its own distinct pattern that can be previewed before placing them. Not only does this make it clearer what will happen when placing monster tiles, it enhances what they bring to the tile-laying puzzle. Monsters now also animate more while on their group of tiles, helping bring your spooky worlds to life. Ghost Trains You’ll now be able to create spectral rail networks to connect your world! We spoke about ghost trains in a previous devlog, and since then have made some changes to how they work. We found having fixed directions for trac…

If you’re playing Fangtopia for the first time because of the event: welcome! We’d love to hear your feedback and ideas! As part of the Steam demo release, we’d like to share a sneak-peek of some new landmarks that will be available in the full release of Fangtopia. Take a look and let us know what you think… Exotic Arboretum: An elegant greenhouse for prized supernatural plants! Giant Beanstalk: A towering plant that stretches into the clouds! Stack O’Lantern: A meeting spot surrounding a totem tower of carved wooden pumpkins! Which is your favourite? That’s all for now… stay spooky!
- Feature Preview: Ghost Trains - 25 July 2024
Today we’re excited to share a feature you can expect to see in the full release of Fangtopia… Ghost Trains! These spectral locomotives will travel across your world and add a new dimension to the core puzzle gameplay of Fangtopia. To add a ghost train to your world, you’ll be placing railway tiles, each with their own shape. Carefully rotate these tiles to form one continuous route. The longer your route, the more points you will score! In addition to railway tracks, you’ll be able to place special station and mountain tunnel tiles. Station tiles allow you to bridge the gap between two railway pieces that might not otherwise fit together. Mountain tunnel tiles allow you to extend your rail networks through mountain ranges and go for even higher scores. And finally, a big thank you to everyone who has checked out our demo so far! You can play it here if you haven't given it a go yet: ht…
- Fangtopia Announced! - 19 July 2024
Hi everyone! With the announcement of Fangtopia today, we wanted to write a small devlog introducing the game and the team behind it. If you’d like to play a demo of the game head over to our Itch page! Who are Absolutely Games? We’re an independent team based in Guildford UK. We’re passionate about strategy and tactics games of all varieties, and we released our first game earlier this year: Classified: France ‘44. What is Fangtopia? Fangtopia is a relaxing building game inspired by titles like Dorfromantik. As a loyal servant of Viktor the Pumpkin King, you’ll be expanding his spooky kingdom one tile at a time, creating a world suitable for your not-so-scary monsters. Why are you making it? We started thinking about Fangtopia as our dev time on Classified was coming to an end. We loved playing Dorfromantik and games similar to it, but found that the aesthetics of these games tended to…
