HDR on PC hasn’t improved much in 2019. Despite there being more HDR gaming monitors than ever before, the very s for HDR continue to be quite expensive compared to non-HDR monitors, and the situation around Windows 10 support for it is still a bit of a mess. However, provided you’re willing to fight through all that, then the next step on your path to high dynamic range glory is to get an HDR compatible graphics card. Below, you’ll find a complete list of all the Nvidia and AMD graphics cards that have built-in support for HDR, as well as everything you need to know about getting one that also supports Nvidia and AMD’s own HDR standards, G-Sync Ultimate and FreeSync 2 . - THQ Nordic buy up Saints Row and Metro - 14 February 2018
THQ Nordic , publishers of the Darksiders games and recent jankfest Elex , have bought Koch Media, the companies have announced . Koch are the father-company of Deep Silver, who publish games like Saints Row , Metro , Dead Island , and Homefront: The Revolution . That means THQ Nordic now own alllll of those bad boys, among others . Due to all the combined plates this company now spins, they could now make a game where the hero of Mighty No. 9 fights jazzy paint-monster De Blob in a doomed bid for supremacy on Mars, aka, Red Faction 3. We’ve told you about the most overlooked games and what has us excited for next year , but we haven’t had a good grump yet on the RPS podcast, the Electronic Wireless Show . So this week the team discuss the worst games they played in 2017. John thinks the misogyny of House Party puts it firmly in the bin, and Brendan is still wiping the red dust from his eyes after woeful survival game Rokh . But Matt can’t bring himself to call any game terrible, not even Star Wars Battlefront 2 . It’s not all negative vibes, however. We’ve also been smiling at pretty and poignant Gorogoa , climbing a mountain in Getting Over It , and shooting our way through Destiny 2 ‘s Curse of Osiris expansion. We’re only a bit scroogey. NEW FEATURES • All Agent vehicles are now equipped with a weapon that fires a circular shockwave, affecting nearby vehicles and people. It can be activated with: PS4 – Circle button, Xbox/PC gamepad – B button, PC keyboard – Q key. HARDWARE SUPPORT • PC: Agents of Mayhem now supports CPUs without SSE 4.1/4.2 such as the AMD Phenom and Phenom II. While the game should now run on these CPUs, they are below minimum requirements and we do not offer technical support. - Report: layoffs at Saints Row dev Volition - 27 September 2017
Saints Row and Agents of Mayhem studio Volition has laid off about 15% of its employees this week, according to a Kotaku report citing three unnamed sources. While layoffs after a big game launches aren’t uncommonas studios become far less busy (Agents of Mayhem came out last month), reportedly Volition general manager Dan Cermak was among those let go – and that is a touch more rare. Or so the reports say. Supposedly parent company Deep Silver was unhappy with sales of Agents. That’s not surprising, as it hasn’t made much of an impact and our John’s Agents of Mayhem review just didn’t like it that much. (more…)
