- New Character: Swordswoman | Wretch 2.0 Reveal #8 - 22 September 2026
Greetings, warriors!Previously, we shared the concept design of a new female character while keeping her weapon hidden for the time being, leaving everyone to guess what she would wield.Today, it’s finally time for the reveal: the new character joining Wretch: Divine Ascent is the Swordswoman, and her weapon of choice is a two-handed greatsword. (Bigger and heavier than the Knight’s sword.)Concept Art – Not Representative of Final QualityFor those of you who joined in the guessing before—did anyone get it right? In addition to her weapon, the Swordswoman will also feature two special mechanics: “Quick Activation” and “Full-Power Heavy Strike.”These mechanics mainly affect the startup and recovery of her attacks. So even with a greatsword in hand, she can still be surprisingly agile in certain situations.Concept Art – Not Representative of Final QualityHow can a two-handed greatsword “mov…

- “The Byways.” Wretch 2.0 Reveal #6 - 15 September 2026
Greetings, warriors. We’ve been sharing glimpses of the maps, new characters, and gameplay coming in 2.0. This time, we’d like to briefly introduce the lore behind our PvE mode. For now, we’re calling this new mode “The Byways.”The name comes from a question you may have pondered amid your PvP battles: What became of those who could climb no further?Along the edges of the Divine Ascent, the lingering resentment of the fallen gathers, slowly forming the Byways.Within them, you will encounter shadows left behind by past tragedies. The fear of victims, the cruelty of tormentors, and the fervor of onlookers can all take shape as “Dreadshades” that attack intruders. Deeper within, an “Anchor” holds this suffering in place, forcing the same tragedy to unfold again and again. The boss we introduced previously, the Lord of the Prison Gates, is one such being. His prison will be the first doorway i…

- New Feature: Enchanting | Wretch 2.0 Reveal #6 - 9 September 2026
Hello, warriors! It’s been a while since our last official feature preview. We’ve still been working overtime to develop new content, so we’re giving it everything we’ve got!Today, we’re introducing a brand-new meta-progression feature in PvE: the Enchanting System. In short, you can enchant equipment of certain qualities to add new stat effects and make it even more powerful.First, you’ll need to collect the required materials and unlock Enchanting in the Talent Tree. Once that’s done, you’ll be able to use this new system.Enchanting consumes resources, which can mainly be obtained through PvE exploration. The number of inventory slots occupied by an item affects the amount of resources required for enchanting. Generally speaking, the larger the item, the more resources it will consume.Enchanted items will gain entirely new affixes. You can spend resources repeatedly to reroll these affi…
- The Ruler Seated Upon the Throne — Wretch 2.0 Reveal #5 - 12 August 2026
Hello, warriors!Previously, we’ve been gradually sharing the new PvE map and new character coming in Wretch 2.0. This week, we’re continuing with more new content. In the brand-new PvE mode, players will not only explore the map and fight enemies along the way, but also face powerful Bosses. The one we’re introducing this time is the Prison Gate Overlord (temporary name). He was once a prison warden who strictly upheld his duties. He never asked why the prisoners were brought here. He simply registered them, locked them away, and maintained order within the prison. As time passed, the suffering accumulated within the prison gradually consumed him. And the silent brother who had always followed by his side also became a part of this prison. Now, he is the anchor of the prison of the mind, and the true master of the underground labyrinth. There is no true exit here. No matter which path you ch…
- Wretch: 2.0 Content Reveal #4 - 22 July 2026
Hello, Warriors,Last week we shared that a new female character would be joining 2.0. Now her concept art is finalized — she will be the second female character in Wretch: Divine Ascent.Slender frame, steady stance, wielding something in her right hand...This time, we've hidden her weapon. Keeping it a surprise for now. We're still refining her combat animations. When the time is right, we'll reveal more about her gameplay mechanics. Don't forget to follow us.Just like the Pirate's "Evasion," the Executioner's "Charge," and the Gladiator's "Legion Stance," this brand-new female character in 2.0 will have her own unique mechanic. So here are two questions for you:What weapon does she wield? What kind of special mechanic will she have?Take a guess — maybe we'll end up thinking the same thing!
- Workload Doubled?! - 14 July 2026
Hey Warriors! We're deep in development on 2.0, and sometimes we can't help but think — making a game really is "a different beast every day." This update isn't quite a reveal — more like a progress report. Remember the first time we shared the PvE mode map in 2.0?It was static, top-down, looked like a flat mini-map — almost like a concept sketch. After some time in development, we've "remade" the map. It's now a full 3D scene, and the camera perspective has changed as well.Yes, the workload went up — but compared to a 2D mini-map, this gives a much stronger sense of actually being on an expedition. And when it comes to how character movement is presented, it'll look a lot better too. For more info on 2.0, keep an eye on future updates. We'll share all sorts of progress — game-related, or maybe not (?). As always, please note: everything above is still in development and does not repres…
- Wretch: Divine Ascent 2.0 Content Reveal #3 - 10 July 2026
Greetings, warriors! We've been deep in development on new content recently, so patch updates may slow down a bit for now — but this won't last too long.In 2.0, every character will be able to freely choose and fight across both PvP and PvE modes (everyone's going full loot-and-scoot mode, if you will). And the Stairway will also welcome a brand new female character.AI-generated, for illustrative purposes onlyWe've already designed an initial concept for her, but we're not quite satisfied with it yet, so we're still polishing it.Compared to our first female character, the Pirate, this new character will wield purely cold weapons, creating a striking contrast between the weapon and the character's appearance. Please note: The current information does not represent the final version — anything may change during development. We'll share more about the new character's design once we have furthe…
- Wretch 2.0 first look #2 - 7 July 2026
Hey Warriors!Last week we shared some early info on the PvE mode, and seeing how excited you all were in the comments — saying you'd come back to play — that was great. We're working hard on the PvE mode, and we hope to live up to your expectations.During development, we've been calling the PvE mode "Explore Mode" as a placeholder. But now we're wondering — should this codename carry over to the official release? That's still an open question.Screenshots are from the development version and do not represent final quality. When you enter Explore Mode, you'll see a camp-like hub screen with the "Explore" label. Here you can gear up and upgrade your characters and equipment before heading out to explore. We want to give the PvE mode a dedicated name that distinguishes it from the PvP mode's combat-focused experience. For example, the mode where you pit your fully-built powerful characters a…
