- Quest Mode's Other End Game - 16 August 2026
The main challenge of Quest Mode is to beat it in the fastest time possible during the first run for the leaderboard timing. Grinding can make characters overpowered, but it obviously takes longer. However, there is also another end game in this mode and it is the final perk called Parallelism. This perk allows the overpowered Quest Mode character to be used in Arcade Mode and helps anyone who would like to tackle those harder badges! Of course, using custom characters in Arcade Mode disqualifies the score from the leaderboards. And for those who want to crank up the Arcade difficulty, nothing is stopping builds that are significantly underpowered. The perk can be activated as many times as there are fragments to spend, although, only one custom build can be registered for each of the three characters. A new build will replace the previous one. So go set up those custom characters and p…
- Charge Up and Use the Pulse Shot! - 27 May 2026
The charged pulse shot is not the same as a screen clearing bomb in other shoot 'em ups. This is more like a grenade in a run and gun, except this can be replenished easily by building the pulse meter. It is more powerful than the normal shot, can cancel all enemy projectiles, and can damage enemies that the normal shot cannot. When used with a pulse wave active, it becomes an even bigger and more powerful pulse shot!
- Extend the Pulse Wave! - 13 May 2026
Don't want to wait for the pulse wave to cooldown after it ends? Then extend it if you have one more pulse stock. in Arcade Mode, extending it will cancel all enemy projectiles and deal damage to enemies, usually destroying small ones. If you keep collecting orbs to maintain the pulse wave, it is possible with extensions to be inside a pulse wave for a much longer time! Try to find the best spots to do this!
- 1.0.2 Update - 13 May 2026
This small update changes the Audio volume scale down to 10. Players may have to readjust the audio options if they changed it before. It also adds a Catalog section on the title screen to view other games.
- Use the Pulse Wave! It has other benefits! - 23 April 2026
Just another quick reminder to use the pulse wave and to use it often. in Arcade Mode, it can cancel blue enemy projectiles, bullet-seal small enemies and some heavy enemy patterns, and also reduce player damage taken to only 1/3 of a health bar! It will make that 1CC so much easier to achieve.
- Use the Pulse Wave! Use it often! - 27 March 2026
Just a quick reminder to use the pulse wave and to use it often. It not only slows downs enemy projectiles caught in it, enemies that are also in its range take INCREASED damage! You can tell by the green debris that flies out (showing that the "ducks" are not really yellow...). If you're holding off from using it and running out of time on bosses, then you're playing for score, which requires much more accuracy and skill. If you're playing for survival, keep using it and watch enemies pop quickly.
- Update 1.0.1 - 18 March 2026
Thanks to one of our players who discovered that the game doesn't pick up the analog left and right triggers anymore (when they used to) without Steam Input enabled, this update brings them back. If you're on Windows and have been using Steam Input, you probably wouldn't even have noticed this. Enabling Steam Input is still the recommended way to go if on Windows since it is able to pick up inputs from all sorts of controllers besides the standard configurations. If you're on macOS, Steam Input should be DISABLED to prevent macOS from picking up both your controller and a phantom X360 controller that macOS seems to incorrectly detect due to Steam Input.

- Game Details 1 + Updated Trailer - 16 October 2025
Background For the very few who have been playing my games from the beginning, you can tell that I have a strong preference for arcade games, especially with a Neo Geo aesthetic. And when I say arcade games, I mean the kind you put coins in to play, not simply because it is labeled like in Apple Arcade. While games have evolved into AAA blockbusters, I have tried and failed to find any interest in such modern gaming. I do appreciate the technical and visual prowess on display, but they all do not capture that short 20-30 minute, easy to pick up, difficult to master experience a pure arcade game can offer. Since we cannot rely on companies today to make this particular kind of entertainment like they did in the 90s, we have no choice but to make them ourselves. Shoot'em up or run & gun? After my first shoot-em up Heli-Cats, I wanted to continue doing another one that allows more shooting…
