Unfortunately, the Kickstarter didn't quite reach its funding goal (but PewDiePie appeared, so not too bad after all). Years later, I managed to revisit the idea and implement it in Bad Cheese (although utilizing different hardware - stationary, not handheld). One of the things I appreciate about being an indie gamedev is the ability to create everyday devices that aren't limited by production requirements or manufacturing costs. Each such device can be any size, consist of an absurd number of parts, and just has to make sense within the created world. One example of such devices is the Grab Pack from the Poppy Playtime, series which I really like. Interestingly in this case, the dynamic worked in the opposite direction, because after seeing them in the game, players actually started creating their own Grab Packs. Hello Cheese Slices! Did you miss us? Once again, we come to you with a new cheesevlog, made by the creator of Bad Cheese, Simon Lukasik. Today, let's talk about the Eggdaddy. In the game Simon's making, Bad Cheese, the protagonist can meet his dad in various incarnations (see previous cheesevlog). Today we'll talk about another daddy character, Eggdaddy, who was inspired by the 1933 film “Alice in Wonderland”. At some point in the game, the player accidentally wakes up Daddy and he starts patrolling the bathroom looking for the source of the noise. His body takes the form of an egg, which rolls around patrolling the tiled corridors. Here you can see the first sketches of what Daddy Egg looked like. If Daddy sees the player, he starts shooting with egg goo. If we get hit, our movement will be greatly slowed, but we still have a chance to free ourselves. Unfortunately, if Daddy is faster…
