  All tiers of Teak and Frame-only Woods received a slight thickness increase in the September 9 hotfix. Teak: +5% total thickness bonus (+2.5% to Planking and +2.5% to Frame) Rare Teak: +5% total thickness bonus (+2.5% to Planking and +2.5% to Frame) Very Rare Teak: +4% total thickness bonus (+2% to Planking and +2% to Frame) Frame-only Woods: received 30% of the Frame thickness bonus of the corresponding Teak tier

  Shipbuilding UpdateAll ship recipes have been updated, along with the recipes for Provisions, Rum, Medicine, Chain Ammo, and the 13-inch Mortar.The weight of nearly all shipbuilding resources has been reduced.Stack sizes, maximum quantities per contract, and quantities available per purchase in shops have been increased for Hemp and Sail Canvas to match the new ship recipes.HMS Victory example:The total weight of resources required to build the ship has been reduced by 55%.The doubloon requirement has been reduced by 24%.The total cost of the ship has been reduced by 20%.FixesFixed issues with incorrect values being displayed in ship tooltips.

• Ship Crafting Readjustment Coming Next Week - 14 August 2026

  Captains, Next week (most likely Monday), we plan to readjust ship crafting costs and the weight of shipbuilding resources and materials. Shipbuilding resource and material weights will be reduced by approximately 2x (e.g. from 0.33 to 0.15) Doubloon requirements will be reduced by 15% - 20% We suggest postponing ship crafting over the weekend until the update goes live.

  Crafted ships have received bonuses to side armor and structure hit points.Heavier crafted ships have received slight bonuses to stern armor.The quality of ships captured from NPCs has been adjusted to increase the value of crafted ships.Stack sizes, maximum quantities per contract, and quantities available per purchase in shops have been significantly increased for resources and materials used in shipbuilding.Trader ship cargo capacities have been increased to provide more opportunities for hauling.

• August 11 Hotfix: Santisima Trinidad Recipe & Combat Experience Clarification - 11 August 2026

  Today's hotfix fixed an issue where doubloons were missing from the Santisima Trinidad crafting recipe.Clarification regarding negative combat experienceThe update included a small rebalance of the combat experience thresholds for ranks. Player ranks themselves were not changed, but the difference between the new and previous experience thresholds may, in some cases, result in a negative combat experience value being displayed.Negative experience shows how much combat experience the player is missing for their current rank. The player's rank itself remains unchanged.

  Rules of Engagement UpdateWhen initiating a PvP attack, only the battle ratings of the attacking ship and its target are compared. The attack cannot be initiated if the target ship’s battle rating is more than six times the battle rating of the attacking ship.This restriction does not prevent a higher-rated ship from attacking a lower-rated ship. The total battle rating and size of the attacking and defending groups are not taken into account.Examples. • Rules of Engagement Spawn Distance Changes - 28 May 2026

  Rules of Engagement ChangesPlayers joining an ongoing battle will now spawn farther away from the enemy the later they join.Example: if the initial spawn distance from the enemy is 750 m, then by the 45-minute mark it will increase to 2250 m (750 + 1500).Other ChangesSlightly increased the repair and turning bonuses granted by the Bravery perk.

• May 14 Update: Combat Repairs and Bravery Perk Changes - 14 May 2026

  The cooldown reduction provided by the Combat Repairs perk has been increased. When you sink an enemy, the cooldown of hull and sail repairs is now immediately reduced by 8 minutes instead of 3 minutes The Bravery perk now also adds armor and sail repair amount bonuses, and its ship turning bonus has been increased from 1.5% to 5%
