• Assassin's Creed Rogue is the latest Ubisoft open-world game to add achievements - 30 January 2025

  Assassin's Creed Rogue is one of the most overlooked entries in the Ubisoft series, and it's easy to understand why. It launched in November 2014, on the same day as Assassin's Creed Unity. While Unity was the next-generation offering, Rogue acted as the final outing for the previous round of consoles, but made its way to PC early in 2015. If you missed it the first time around, now might be the ideal time to give it a second chance, as Ubisoft has just brought Steam achievements to the open-world game as part of its continued rollout. • Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered sets sail in March - 11 January 2018

  Assassin's Creed Rogue (aka Black Flag 2) is getting a remastered launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. All DLC missions and weapon packs will be included, along with a new outfit - the one worn by Assassin's Creed Oranges hero Bayek in last year's new game. There's 4K support if you're on a PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X (alternatively, it runs at 1080p on PS4 and Xbox One). Read more…

• Assassin's Creed: Rogue gameplay: max settings at 60 fps on LPC - 11 March 2015

  Wonder how good a "last-gen" game can look when it's maxed out on PC? The answer is pretty much what you'd expect. It's not that Rogue looks bad, but clunky animations and texture pop-ins make its older target hardware very evident. Overall, it's a lovely game while you run around killing people (read our review ), but its visual flaws are apparent in the context of a brand new, big budget PC game. Watch the video above to see for yourself. A quick note: the gameplay was recorded at 1440p, but unfortunately we encountered an error while exporting that wouldn't allow it to export at full-res. • Assassin's Creed: Rogue is out now with day-one patch - 10 March 2015

  is now out for the PC—and so too is the day-one patch. Assassin's Creed: Rogue tells the tale of Shay Patric Cormac, a young initiate of the Assassin Brotherhood who grows disillusioned with his new gang when he realizes that they're not quite the stand-up guys he thought they were. It all comes to a head in a spot of unpleasantness that leads Cormac to switch sides, and much of the game is actually played as a Templar, the sworn enemies of the Assassins. I suppose that's technically a spoiler, but given that the twist has been the focal point of the game's entire marketing campaign (like the launch trailer that came out last month), I feel safe tossing it out. And with the launch of the game comes the release of the launch day patch, which as Gameranx notes is a lighter list of fixes than might be expected.
