- The Volcanic Biome - 22 August 2026
Hey there, Glintseeker!A few weeks have passed since we release the Glintseeker Island Demo, and as promised, here's our first small biome update: Introducing the Volcanic Biome.🌋 To keep exploring and mining interesting, we want to give each biome its own identity. This includes the visual look and feel, a variety of enemies and hazards, unique ways to explore and travers the caves, and of course a new gimmick for the mining minigame: To break through the hard layers of rock in the Volcanic Biome, you'll have to use your hammer to balance the "Exploulder", getting it into the right position before it explodes. One more thing: We'll also be at gamescom next week in Cologne from August 26th - 30th, Wednesday to Sunday. Hey, Glintseekers!In our Playtest many of you have asked for character customization, and we're happy to say that you can now create your own Glintseeker. From hairstyles and hair colors to eye color and other appearance options, there are many ways to personalize your Glintseeker! The feature is still work in progress and we'll continue to add and improve customization options, but we wanted to give you a first look at it. We've also added two game modes. Hey everyone!My name is David, and I’m one of the three developers behind Glintseeker Island. Today we simply want to say thank you to all of you in Japan.We recently started our first public playtest on Steam, and the response has been far beyond anything we expected. Out of the more than 10,000 players who joined the playtest so far, over a third came from Japan alone. Seeing so many players from Japan explore our little island and what lies below has been incredibly moving for our tiny team.What makes this especially meaningful to us is that many of the games that inspired us originally came from Japan. Back in high school, the three of us spent countless hours playing together on our Game Boys and Nintendo DSs.
