Most 1 year old babies can:Wave when someone is leavingUse their thumb and pointer finger to pick up small thingsPull themselves up to a standing positionUnfortunately Cardaire hasn’t yet learned to do any of these things, but I’m still hoping it’ll get there eventually. It’s been an absolute joy seeing so many people interact with and enjoy the game. Pick up a copy for yourself, or gift one to a friend. Buy a copy and prop your couch up with it. Buy a whole bunch and fill your freezer so you’re stocked for the dead of winter. - v2.0 Has Arrived! - 17 January 2025
aeiou here, let me be the first to welcome you to Cardaire 2.0! Be sure to talk to the collector, as he may have some stuff for you if you've already got an active save file. There's SO MUCH to go over with this update, but here's the highlights: Stick around after the patch notes for a little thank you and thoughts on where we go from here. Patch Notes AI Updates: There is quite a lot to explain in terms of how the enemy AI thinks, so I will get into as much detail as I can here - but there are a BUNCH of systems that were updated to generally function better and make the enemy AI a more worthy opponent. I want to note the enemy AI is still able to make "mistakes". I find it good for new players to be given edges to learn from these mistakes, and it also is valuable for experienced players as they get to "outsmart" the enemy duelist. This also scales with duelists as the game progresse…
- Coming Soon: AI Improvements, Cosmetic Options, Post Game Content - 2 January 2025
Turn Pass Hello seasoned duelists and fledgling card slingers alike, it's aeiou here. Hope you've had a nice December. Me? Well I've been doing my favorite thing - working on game content :) It was a really cathartic experience returning to making content for Cardaire post launch. Things moved a bit faster now, and I was able to move with better purpose having seen a wider audience play and react to the game. You never really know what players will have strong positive OR negative reactions to until the game is in their hands. I'm happy to announce I'll be releasing what I've dubbed the "2.0 Update" quite soon. With this update I have two major goals: Address the most popular piece of feedback I've gotten about the game (looking at you enemy AI) Add just a lil' bit more post game content (Art by Rama Widjanarko) What to Expect As much as I would love to make sweeping changes to the in-d…
- v1.1.42 The gift of typo fixes (mostly) - 25 December 2024
I come bearing the gift children want most this time of year... Various typo and bug fixes! This will probably be the last major update for the next week or so as I settle in for the holiday season, but that doesn't mean I'm done with Cardaire quite yet... Expect an official announcement early January, but I'm currently working on a lil' expansion to implement a couple of the most requested changes, and fill in a couple of holes in the post game. Bug Fixes: - Fixed a bug that would cause the prices in Pop's Shop to squish - Corrected the wording on Fire Up to follow the templating on other targeting effects - Corrected Mulligans Up, Down, and Right running sprite to no longer be misaligned with her other sprites - The card Gwen gives you will now correctly mark itself as collected - Fixed the wording on Pyroblast - Fixed the wording on Aegis of Light - Fixed a music trigger in Final Fro…
- v1.1.41 - 20 December 2024
Bug Fixes: - Removed ability to click on overworld npcs/objects to interact with them - Technically was never intended behavior for them to be clickable, but it was something left over from other parts of the game engine. Since their hit-boxes for clicking were so small it was super annoying for players who thought this was the only interaction method. - Fixed an issue that was keeping phase shift from working after first unlocking it (If phase shift is not activating for you, try exiting and re-entering Junction Hub)
- v1.1.40 Fourty, Flirty, and Absolutely Fabulous - 15 December 2024
Beep beep, make way. Have a buncha bug fixes to drop off! I've also been taking a deeper look at the fishing system, so though you might not notice any difference in game it's running a lot smoother than it did last patch. Definitely let me know if you see anything I broke in the process tho. Bug Fixes: - Fixed a spacing issue with Martial Arts Master's description text - Fixed "Spacey Duelist" npc name - Fixed a bug that would break Mulligan's sprite if you phase shift while fishing - Space Man Sam's name has been corrected to "Spaceman Sam" - Fixed Sam's portrait picture not showing in some dialog - Majorly fixed up the code that handles fishing. Should be no noticable difference as a player, but behind the scenes it runs a lot smoother. - Updated the text on a sign in Moon Mountain Forest
- Devlog 2: One Piece at a Time - 8 December 2024
I got it one piece at a time And it didn't cost me a dime You'll know it's me when I come through your town I'm gonna ride around in style I'm gonna drive everybody wild 'Cause I'll have the only one there is around - "One Piece at a Time" Wayne Kemp and Johnny Cash One Piece at a Time If ya didn't know I'm aeiou, and I made this thing. From 2020-2023 I went back and forth working on a project I called "Project Electronic Cardboard". It was stuck in a frustrating loop of starting back up and then one thing or anther leading to it being back-burnered again. So I set out into 2024 the goal of finishing it as best I could with the mantra from that ol' country classic "One Piece at a Time". Every day I did a little bit of work, slowly piecing together something that might not be perfect - but was uniquely mine. This devlog shows just a small amount of that process. I believe making a game i…
