- DEADMETRO Update 20 - 30 June 2026
New Characters Our game has undergone a complete overhaul of the character system. If your character does not appear, please create and edit it in the main menu before starting the game, as this may be due to conflicting player preferences. We've replaced the player characters with completely new male and female models, along with an entirely new set of outfits. We've also added a completely new selection of clothing, giving players more options to customize their characters. Each outfit has different durability and appearance, but the difference in protection is minimal. If you need better protection, you'll need to equip armor, which provides much higher defense against infected attacks. Added military trucks as new spawn locations for military armor. Military uniforms can be found inside green crates marked with a star logo. These crates are located inside white military trucks with…
- DEADMETRO Update 19 - 3 June 2026
Movement This animation overhaul marks a new standard for Dead Metro, improving both movement fluidity and overall mobility. We have also added additional animation details. When players look around, the character's head will now turn in the same direction as the camera. Another detail added in this update is dynamic equipment movement. Items attached to the player's backpack will now move naturally along with the character. Improve Movement Improved vaulting animations to make climbing over obstacles smoother and more natural. Additional details have also been added, such as switching the hand position of equipped items while climbing, allowing players to carry a torch without it disappearing during the animation. Piercing Bullets The combat against the infected has changed significantly. Players can now make better use of firearms, as bullets can penetrate infected bodies. A single sh…
- DEADMETRO Development Update 18 - 9 April 2026
In this update, we improved Dead Metro’s gameplay by adding new items and player-support equipment, along with a new type of vehicle and additional systems. WEAPON ATTACHMENT Players can now aim down sights, and we’ve also added more weapon attachments—such as scopes and bayonets—allowing players to customize their weapons to match their playstyle. Players can craft all weapon attachments at the crafting table. Currently, some weapon attachments—such as grips and stocks—do not yet affect recoil control, so shooting behavior remains unchanged for now. We also added two aiming options for third-person mode: aiming down sights and an over-the-shoulder camera aim. In first-person mode, aiming is limited to aiming down sights only. We are currently working on improving weapon recoil and will introduce these changes in future updates. This will add more challenge to gunplay, making weapon att…
- DEADMETRO Development Update 17 - 26 February 2026
In this update, we redesigned the appearance of the infected, especially the standard infected, which have been completely reworked. We also introduced profession-based infected variants to add more variety and better align with the world and story we want to present. You can encounter these infected throughout the map. However, some variants have not yet been added to the game. They will be introduced in future updates alongside additional systems that will help create new gameplay experiences. Lighting We enhanced the visual presentation by bringing back a more natural color tone. Instead of relying on heavy color grading, we now use the colors of objects within the environment to shape the overall mood and atmosphere, resulting in a more realistic look. Visual authenticity is just as important to us as the gameplay experience. Fixes Increased item respawn time from 30 minutes to 2 ho…
- DEADMETRO Development Update 16 - 4 February 2026
In this update, we improved infected behavior to feel more realistic by reworking their movement animations. Walkers in particular now move in a more aggressive and unsettling way, making encounters with them more challenging. Point of Interest Added a system that allows the infected to interact with the environment. While walking through the city, you may encounter some infected crouching and engaging in certain behaviors. On Fire Infected can now catch fire if they run through active flames. Be careful, a Hazmat Suit infected will explode if you shoot the gas tank on its back. Alert Causing more damage or making loud noises will attract a greater number of infected, making survival more difficult. Movement Infected movement is no longer strictly linear. We added a dispersion system, so when they attack, some infected will break off and rush in from different directions, surrounding th…
- DEADMETRO Development Update 15 Hotfix 1 - 26 January 2026
Fixed offset issues between triangular roofs and triangular foundations.
- DEADMETRO Development Update 15 - 26 January 2026
In this update, we focused on improving player-buildable structures by adding new material options for base building, including wood, stone, and metal. New Building Plan Players can now build using three different building plan types—wood, stone, and metal. Door and Windows We updated doors and windows to have distinct differences and varying durability levels, along with small additional features—such as metal sheet windows that can be opened. Material Adjusted the spawning of resources used for building, such as stone gathering. Previously, decorative-only rocks can now be harvested more frequently. We separated harvestable rocks from regular rocks—harvestable rocks appear slightly brighter. Players can identify them by observation or by looking for the circular indicator that shows they can be collected. Add Added half-wall parts and triangular roof pieces. New Function Added a rotat…
- DEAD METRO Development Update 14 - 9 January 2026
For this update, we spent a significant amount of time improving the game—fixing various systems, adding new items, making minor adjustments, and introducing new perspectives to enhance the overall experience. Add More Item Dead Metro’s item system is designed around different item types and tier levels. After the previous update, we found that the existing item pool was not sufficient for crafting—some item types only had white-tier items available, which limited crafting possibilities. To solve this, we added new items with additional rarity tiers beyond white. This helps expand the crafting system and better supports survival gameplay. We also introduced new, valuable items that players can sell to NPCs in safe zones. FPS We developed the FPS mode based on feedback from our community, as it was an exciting feature we wanted to bring into the game. The main goal of adding FPS mode is…

- Development Update 12 - 10 December 2025
Peek We improved the movement system even further. Previously, the player’s view was limited while aiming, making certain angles difficult to see. Players can now peek to adjust their view and create new tactical options, reducing visibility restrictions. Camera switching over the shoulder is now smoother. Not only is the switch itself easier, but the animation has also been refined. For example, when aiming after switching shoulders, the weapon-holding posture now adjusts to match the new camera angle. keybind We’ve updated the player’s control layout to support the new peek system. We also adjusted the default key bindings to make frequently used actions easier to press, while moving less-used buttons further away to avoid accidental inputs. Lockpick Previously, unlocking gun crates or gun lockers relied on RNG, making success very difficult and forcing players to carry many lockpicks…
- Development Update 11 Hotfix 1 - 22 November 2025
Fixed red barrels can now explode and destroy trees. Fixed the issue with using fuel on small generators placed inside buildings. Fixed red barrels can now destroy shop windows. Fixed an issue where the FOV behaved incorrectly after the player died while aiming.
- Development Update 11 - 21 November 2025
This update took considerable time to complete, which caused a delay in its release. Red Barrel The red barrel, yes, you know exactly what we mean. It’s the red fuel barrel that can now be shot and exploded. When it blows up, it leaves behind burning fire that continues to deal damage if the player gets too close. We’ve added gas cylinders that players can pick up and throw at the infected. They can be used as a tactical tool to clear paths or escape from groups of infected, introducing new ways to plan and survive in dangerous situations. Tent We’ve added tents where players can now search for items, to make the game feel more realistic. Previously, when exploring the forest, players could find tents with nothing inside — this update fixes that issue. Player Spawner To reduce repeated spawns in the same location, we’ve added multiple player spawn points. This ensures that each new star…
- Development Update 10 Hotfix1 - 4 November 2025
-Fix missing footstep sounds in the Small Sand map.
- Development Update 10 - 3 November 2025
In this update, we’ve enhanced environmental details by improving scene props and adding new gameplay elements in certain areas. Call Horde There’s now a chance that when opening a car door to search for items, the car alarm will go off — attracting a horde of infected to attack the player. Be cautious and always have a plan ready, because if that alarm starts blaring, trouble is coming. Detail We’ve added more detail to vehicle bodies, enhancing surface textures and visual definition to make them blend more naturally with their surrounding environment. Sit Down We’ve added a new system that allows players to interact with chairs and sofas by pressing E to sit. Currently, this feature only works with player-owned decorative furniture, but we’re planning to expand it so players can also use benches and other seating objects placed around the map. Repair Limit Previously, the weapon repai…
- Development Update 9 Hotfix 1 - 27 October 2025
-Fixed that the infected were unable to climb over vehicles.
- Development Update 9 - 27 October 2025
This update focuses on improving overall balance and performance. From our previous updates, we noticed gameplay issues after testing, specifically, item distribution for players during each gameplay loop took too long, as basic crafting materials were often difficult to find. To address this problem, we’ve added new lootable props that contain essential crafting items, allowing players to access basic materials more easily and start building their base faster. Trash Loot We’ve added more environmental detail by decorating areas with piles of trash, giving the map a more dynamic and detailed appearance. These props also serve as new loot points where players can find basic crafting materials such as oil, scrap metal, and iron pipes. Additionally, these props can provide visual cover during PvP encounters while also helping to improve scene performance by reducing visible complexity in c…

- Development Update 8 - 16 October 2025
In this update, we’ve redesigned the zone transition points to create a seamless connection between the city and desert maps. The new paths give players more freedom when crossing between zones. We’ve also replaced the large rock cliff that previously blocked the city with a small garden area located between the city and the desert map. This change helps adjust the gameplay tone and serves as a preparation area before entering the next region. Not Sand We’ve reworked the desert map environment, introducing a new atmosphere with taller trees that provide more shade and create a more open, comfortable look. The overall tone and theme of the game are being redesigned to feel more like an island, so we’ve replaced the previous tree types with taller ones to reduce density. Of course, this change directly affects performance, and at this point, it can hardly be called a desert anymore. FIX C…
