- Dev Blog 2: Suits, Faces, and the Math Holding It Together - 13 September 2026
Hello, Spacers!Today, a look at two things we've been heads-down on lately - how characters work under the hood, and what it actually takes to simulate a solar system at real scale.🧑🚀 A New Foundation for CharactersWe're moving to a new universal framework that will power both player characters and NPCs. It gives us a lot more flexibility across body types, outfits, and future customization options. This system is the base for everything more detailed we want to add later - faces, body shapes, and beyond. We've also significantly upgraded our spacesuits compared to the older versions you might remember, and this is just the start. ⚙️ Building a 1:1 Solar System: What the Engine Couldn't DoThree things we had to build from scratch, because Unreal simply doesn't handle them out of the box.Multi-axis gravity. UE supports gravity on a single axis by default. For a realistic space environm…

- STAGE V: Playtest Update - 2 September 2026
Playtest Update - Demo Timing & What's NewHey, Spacers! We have an important update regarding the Verse Project demo.We previously planned to release the demo by the end of August. We've decided not to rush it out and instead spend some more time testing and improving the current build. We're sorry for the delay. We also don't want to replace one missed date with another, so we're not announcing a new demo release date yet.As part of that process, a major update to the Steam Playtest is now live. The new build is currently available to a limited number of playtesters, and we'll gradually expand access as testing continues. Here's an overview of the biggest changes.Hubs- Major updates to hub interiors and recovery areas - New NPCs, background drones and environmental details - Updated lighting, screens and ambient audio - New points of interest and navigation targets on the MoonTutorials- E…
- Meet the BAO - Your First Ship in the Demo - 30 August 2026
Hey, spacers! The demo is close, so it’s time to take a closer look at the spacecraft every pilot will receive for free at the start: the BAO. The BAO is a light reconnaissance craft built to reach places nobody has surveyed yet. It is manoeuvrable, economical on fuel, equipped with a sensitive scanner and difficult to detect thanks to its low thermal signature.Everything about the craft is focused on that role. Its cargo hold is minimal, there are no passenger seats, and the armour provides only basic protection. The BAO carries what it needs for reconnaissance without the additional weight of systems that would not help it complete the job.Fly out to an unsurveyed area, find out what is there, deploy a beacon and return home. The BAO is not meant to stay on site - it goes in first, gathers the information others will need and marks the way forward.Every pilot will begin the demo with o…
- About the playtest - and what's next - 24 August 2026
This week our trailer traveled a lot further than we planned for, and thousands of you found the game at once. Welcome - genuinely glad you're here. Some of you also found the playtest. Quick context: that was an old build, released months ago for a small number of concurrent players. It was never meant to handle this kind of traffic, and its current state isn't a fair picture of the game. We've closed it for now.Instead of patching an old build, we're putting that time into a proper demo, coming this month a newer build, more mechanics, and servers sized for the audience we suddenly have. Every bug report from the past few days made it to us and is being put to work. Thank you for those.Wishlist the game to catch the demo the moment it goes live. And if you want updates more often than we post here - this is where we hang out:Discord | Reddit | Twitter/X
- Dev Blog 1: What You Build Stays Built - 4 August 2026
Hello, Spacemen!Starting with this post, we're moving to a new format for our updates. Instead of dense patch notes, we'll be sharing smaller, more regular dev diaries - picking a couple of things we're working on and telling you the story behind them in more detail. This time, we want to walk you through two things that shape what it actually means to live and work in the Verse universe.🏗 Every Resource You Deliver Goes Somewhere RealVerse starts at a very specific point in history - humanity has barely stabilized the Earth-Moon system. The infrastructure exists, but just barely. Everything beyond that doesn't, and none of it appears on its own.Every resource you mine and deliver goes somewhere real. The system tracks exactly what's been contributed, and toward what. When enough has come in to push a construction goal forward, it moves forward. When it hasn't, it waits. That means early…

We are truly glad to walk this path together with you and believe that many more discoveries lie ahead.---🎁 Holiday Test Client UpdateTo celebrate the holidays, we’ve released an update for the test game client, which includes:• Early version of the starting tutorial The first step toward the future missions and quest system.• New settings options Including motion blur toggle and inverted controls.• Station hub improvements Updates and visual improvements to the main hall environment.• Stab…
- Stage IV: Update Available - 27 February 2025
🫡 Hello, Spacemen! The Verse Project team is excited to introduce a new update for our technical demo. Yes, this is finally Stage IV! However, this time, we have significantly deviated from our initial plans to focus more on important aspects. We have concentrated on performance, network code optimization, orbital flights, and combat systems. We hope this will add more variety to the gameplay experience, even at this early stage of development, and pave the way for new features in the near future. 🚨 Remember: the technical demo is not a full-fledged game with complete gameplay, graphics, and visual effects. It is merely a demonstration of our capabilities and may contain various issues and bugs. 📋 What's New? 🪐 Orbital Flight We've lifted the restriction on flying only near the station—now you can embark on a journey around the Moon. However, you cannot fly closer than 80 km to the…
- Stage III Update Available - 5 November 2024
🫡 Hello, Spaceman! o7 We’re a bit late this time, as we needed to spend extra time on polishing, optimizations, and additional adjustments. The main goal of this update is to create truly large orbital structures that you can freely move around. This approach was chosen from the beginning to lay the groundwork for a variety of objects in space and on planetary surfaces. The project demo is available on the project website. This will be available on Steam at a later date. 🚨 The tech demo is not a game with full gameplay, graphics and visual effects. It is only a demonstration of our features. Here’s a brief list of what’s included in this update: Station Exterior Our first space station, HOST, which you’ve already seen from the inside, has received significant upgrades and added exterior details. This is not the final implementation, and we’ll continue to improve model and texture deta…
