  • Major Update: Knights of the Round - 8 February 2026

It's time for more dungeon building, future overlords! Today's update focuses on making dungeon building more meaningful. Right now the dominant strategy is to place a group of super monsters at the dungeon entrance and leave the rest empty. Not exactly in theme with the game. New abilities, stealth and shield, will let heroes strike deeper into your dungeon. Stealthy heroes sneak past the first few monsters, while shielded heroes take no damage early on. Dungeons will need 2-3 combat rooms to effectively deal with the variety of heroes. Healing monsters is now harder. To compensate, dungeons can have up to two infirmaries. The best monsters will need to step out of the fight for a round or two in order to heal up before returning. The design goal is to encourage players to have more combat-ready monsters and to convert an empty room into a healing utility room. The Hero King is getting…

  • Major Balance Patch + New Challenge Mode - 14 October 2025

Greetings, future overlords! Today's update contains a big balance patch, plus a new challenge mode. The biggest change is buffs are now additive instead of multiplicative. The goal here is to tighten the gap between optimal builds and common strategies. Some players are dealing millions of damage, while most players are only doing a few thousand. Many thought the Hero King wasn't possible to defeat, while at the same time, the Hero King is easily being one-shotted by other players who took advantage of the exponential compounding of multiplicative buffs. Balance Percentage buffs are now additive. Increased EXP gain from defeating a hero from 20 -> 50. Reduced Hero King HP from 262k -> 65k. The Hero King has a new passive, Aura of the King, which prevents monsters from healing on level up while he is in the dungeon. Decreased Brutal Hunger buff from 10% -> 5%. Decreased Brutal Beast hun…

  • Patch Notes v0.4.4 - 28 September 2025

General Upgrading a monster in the tavern will now immediately add a copy of that monster to the inventory. Updated some ability descriptions to be more clear. Bug fixes Fixed a bug where monsters in the tavern would sometimes have incorrect values on their tooltips. Monsters with the Boss Crown will now keep their larger size when leveling up. Highlighted monsters will keep their highlight when leveling up. Fixed an error that could occur when abandoning a run with the map open.

  • Patch Notes v0.4.3 - 19 September 2025

General You can now delete unwanted items from the inventory. Added text to make it more clear the Hero King can be defeated in the demo. Bug fixes The skeleton cost reduction skill now affects level 2 + 3 skeletons. Monsters can no longer level up after dying. And in case you missed it, check out the v0.4.2 patch notes. https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3136320/view/755037723268481543?

  • Patch Notes v0.4.2 - 15 September 2025

General You can now preview a hero's path through the dungeon. To see the preview, hover over the spawn point or the hero preview icon in the bottom right. Reworded some tooltips that describe how heroes move through the dungeon. Default volume level is 20% quieter. Balance The price multiplier of levelled monsters has decreased from 4x -> 3x. Bug fixes Fixed an issue where merging monsters with artifacts would merge their buffs twice. Capped attack at 2 billion, preventing integer overflow issues with monster attack becoming negative. Fixed an issue where the resolution setting was not being saved in window mode. Fixed a crash that could happen when you had a level 3 monster in the loot deck. Thanks to everyone who played the demo! I have a mountain of feedback to sort through and attempt to prioritize. Keep sharing your thoughts and I'll keep putting out patches.
