- Lantern Forge Version 1.10 Released! - 6 September 2015
We are happy to announce the release of version 1.10! This release includes some pretty major updates to the way the game generates, loads, and saves maps. It also improves the lighting system. All of these things work to substantially reduce in-game lag! We know this has been a major complaint from the community, so thanks for being patient. There's also a fair bit of game balancing in this release. Base movement speed for players has been increased. And the attack speed and durability of many items has been bumped up a bit as well. This will only affect newly generated items that you craft or find as a drop. We've made some visual enhancements to GUI elements and icons for better visibility. And, of course, we've added a few new items to the game to be discovered.

Hey Lanterns and Forgers, So to get this month off to a good start we are going to be releasing pictures of some of the content for this month BUT those pictures are not going to be the complete image. We are adding some objects/items for you this season that are themed for the holidays but sometimes just like in horror movies the lights go out and you cant really make out what is in the shadows. In case you missed the discussions: All you lanterns out there we have a bit of a treat for all of you and also a way for you all to really help us out. We have set a couple of milestones up that we are reaching for and for each of the minestones that we reach we are going to be doing giveaways to the helpful users who helped us reach those minestones. Currently we really want to focus on getting our social networks brimming with action so we are going to take the time to tweet about what you all are doing in lantern forge! Spanish support has now been added! Both French and Spanish can now be selected from the launcher menu. We want to thank our French and Spanish-speaking players for being patient with us. Sorry it took so long! New items have been added. This update adds a number of new items. There are new blocks: clay bricks, cobblestone, and wooden planks. All of these can be used as floor blocks as well as for walls. There are some new sofas to check out. Birch, willow, maple, copper, and iron seats can now be crafted. A few of these are a little more whimsical than current sofas! A fence gate has also been added. And for those of you who may have missed the last update, be sure to check out the copper lamppost and the red, blue, and green portals. Bug fixes. We're excited to announce that multiple language support is now added! At this time, French support is live, but Spanish and Portuguese should follow within a week. Bug Fixes There was an issue for people using Windows account names with accented letters. This bug resulted in a crash due to write permissions. Lantern Forge should now properly decode these letters, fixing the access issue. A minor bug was with the button alignment in windowed mode. This should now work correctly. We've been hard at work tracking down and squashing bugs. First, a huge Thank You to all of you who've diligently posted sighting information in our community forums! We've uploaded a new build to Steam tonight, which should fix at least a few of the bugs many of you have run into. Music Issues This is one of the biggest bugs. We had some bad file pointers that caused the game to crash every time it tried to load a certain track. The bad pointer is now fixed. Also, the game won't attempt to play missing tracks any more. Additionally, if you set your music volume to 0, the game won't attempt to load any music at all. Polygon Collisions We've taken care of a couple of the collision issues as well. I'm not certain they're all gone, but they will be less frequent. Thanks again for your patience and helpful bug reports!
