- Masters of Albion - Update 1.1A - 6 May 2026
Hey everyone,We’ve got a small update rolling out today for MoA. Update 1.1A fixes a few sticky issues and sets us up for our upcoming larger Update 1.2. ChangesThe Founders Paint Pack is now available in all future saves for players who purchased the game within the first week of release rather than the previous game-save based approach. It will unlock after activating the Wyrmscar Beacon. -Thanks to the community for raising this with us. We agreed that the original setup didn’t feel quite right, so this should make the pack feel more fitting going forward. Enjoy your paints from now until the end of time. We’ve also fixed a crash that could happen when picking up a hero whose weapon had two or more runes applied. You can now apply runes with intended freedom.Turrets built before the Day 13 task should now be recognised correctly, preventing a block in intended progression. Thanks agai…
- Steam Deck verification criteria continues to confuse as Masters of Albion is marked Unsupported, despite devs considering it 'fully optimised for handheld' - 5 May 2026
Masters of Albion is the new god game by Fable creator Peter Molyneux. Ahead of its early access launch in late April, studio 22cans addressed its Steam Deck compatibility in a blog post. "We have spent a significant amount of time setting this up, making sure that Masters is a smooth, playable experience on the Deck," the blogpost reads, "and it is time to let you all know that—YES!—Masters of Albion is Steam Deck Compatible.".. - Build Competition: Our Favourites - 5 May 2026
Hello everyone! We recently ran a little build competition over on our Discord, and thought it would be fun to share some of our favourite entries here on Steam. It was great to see what people had been making, and there were some really creative builds. Let's get stuck in and look at some submissions. First up is Absent, who turned their Arena into a mighty spectacle, using the large plot to build a beautiful little market, complete with stalls and thriving gardens built atop yesterday’s massacre. Lovely. Here Cyardor has created an all-round industrial powerhouse. Chunky and efficient. Part metal mine, part smelter & part family home. I hope you're treating those workers well? MAK has transformed the once quiet town of Oakridge, choosing to expand not outwards, but upwards! We hope his people are alright with the long drop down to ground-level.ShyShaman made the cosiest of them all. A c…

- This legendary game designer's swan song strategy game isn't off to the strongest start, but I'm still itching to play god - 25 April 2026
Legendary game designer Peter Molyneux's latest - Masters of Albion - isn't off to a stellar launch. While a city-building god game amassing over 300 Steam reviews in a couple of days is a decent go for a relatively small team, said reviews landing at 'mixed' can threaten to make it a bit of a hard sell going forward. - Peter Molyneux has made a proper game again rather than a monetization experiment, and I really hope he finishes it - 23 April 2026
Masters of Albion has Peter Molyneux's paws all over it. The art style and arch British humor channels Fable, and it's even set in a place called Albion (not the same Albion as Fable, of course). It's all very gentle, very quaint, like I've just opened an Enid Blyton or Jill Barklem picture book... Read more.
- What We're Hearing: Launch Day - 22 April 2026
What We're HearingWe’re seeing your reports and feedback, and we’re on it. Here are a few of the most common issues right now.Performance & StabilityImproving performance and stability is a top priority. This will be a main focus of an upcoming update. Optimising across a wide range of systems is something we’re continuing to improve, and we know there’s more to do. Masters of Albion is running a lot under the hood, from close up detail to large scale simulation, and we’re working hard to make that experience smoother for everyone. The Heroes GuildSome players are unlocking the Heroes Guild earlier than expected by progressing quickly. In certain cases, this can stop the game from recognising its construction as part of the main flow. As a temporary fix, you can reload using the Load Day feature on the title screen. Make sure to load a day before purchasing the Heroes Guild. We are addres…
- Masters of Albion does what Peter Molyneux promised, "it brings joy" - 22 April 2026
When I spoke to Fable creator and 22cans founder Peter Molyneux about Masters of Albion earlier this year, he told me that he simply wanted it to bring "joy." It's a word that resonated throughout our discussion: one that Molyneux is clearly passionate about. It's been a rocky road for him, after all: post-Lionhead, things haven't been easy. Unfortunately renowned for his tendency to "overpromise" and underdeliver - something he's since apologized for profusely - there's a lot riding on Masters of Albion. Reputationally, it could be the salve that Molyneux needs, but it could also mark the triumphant return of the god game - a genre that hasn't really been well-served since the Black and White days. It's a title that I've been excited about since its reveal - I'm a longtime Fable fan, and spent my youth tinkering with Black and White. My hopes, then, were high. Read the rest of the stor…

- You know it's bad for AI when even Peter Molyneux, king of overpromising, is tepid on its use in game dev: 'I think we have to be very, very careful' - 22 April 2026
Peter Molyneux has somewhat of a reputation for overpromising that I will now proceed to gently rib him for—sweeping statements about carving your name on a tree and that name still being there years later, to the fiascos of Godus and the awkwardness of Curiosity, which promised a life-changing revelation inside a blockchain cube and then… didn't do that... - Peter Molyneux's right about one thing: It's sad how no one seems to care about god games anymore - 22 April 2026
We're just a few hours out from the early access release of Masters of Albion , which creator and legendary hyperbolist Peter Molyneux is pitching as both his swansong and " redemption title ." To mark the occasion, Molyneux recently took to YouTube to field questions from fans about his career, Masters of Albion, and where his god-game obsession stems from... Read more.
