Year ONE update 1.2.0This update introduces new leaderboards for all levels. The old leaderboard will be visible and show the Top 10 of year one players.Levels now have a timeframe of 30 minutes to get a new highscore for the Steam leaderboard. - Steam bug fixed - 19 March 2025
After the last update, there was an error in the communication with Steam. Game saves were not loaded into the Steam cloud, and achievements, statistics, and leaderboards were not transferred to Steam. The problem has now been fixed. You should now be able to use all Steam features again. Sorry for the inconvenience. If there are still problems, please contact us in the Steam Community. Also added a "friends" highscore list.
- Controller issue solved - 12 March 2025
Until recently, there was a problem with Steam Input templates for controllers. It caused the game to simply crash. Now I've finally fixed the problem so you can use your accessibility features as usual. All changes: Controller Input templates now works as expected. New options to disable clouds and effects in levels. System setting changes are now saved faster. Game files are now compressed to improve performance. Have fun playing.

- Update 1.1.5 - "Balance" update - 6 March 2025
The “Balance” update brings a mixture of new mechanics and improves the old ones. In addition, some of the monsters have been adjusted and new monsters have been added. New upgrades available: “Mucky Boots” increases movement speed by up to 50%. Can be purchased from Robin in the saloon. “Sharp Edges” increases the damage dealt by a critical hit by up to 300%. Applies to all weapon types. Can be purchased from Alex in the shop. “Enlightenment” increases the damage of tricks such as the aura or the card trick. This is just a small update with mostly bug fixes. - "Trapper" update 1.1 now live - 30 January 2025
Since Periodicity - Hats and scars launched in December 2024, the game did pretty much as I expected. I got feedback, some valuable, some not so much, and I had some ideas left that didn't make it into the game. So I continued development and here is the patch 1.1. Aside from bug fixes and performance improvements, I added new weapons to let you change up your playstyle. There are also new upgrades in some of the stores to help you on your way. In terms of UI I tried to optimize the game for Steam Deck while also improving the 1920 x 1080 look and feel. Every vendor has a sign now so that you know which one is in which building. I also overhauled the glossary to show and explain almost all the items. This makes keeping track of items you have and don't have easier. Today the time has finally come. The full version of Periodicity - Hats and scars is now available in store and starts with a big discount. Many thanks to everyone who played the demo and gave feedback. The full version has got a few more levels, weapons, tools and tricks. You can play it on Windows, Linux with Proton or on Steam Deck. - Steam cloud saves - 11 December 2024
Steam cloud saves Good news for everyone who has activated cloud saves. Now you can end a session on your Windows or Linux (proton) PC and continue playing later on your Steam Deck. If you don't have Steam cloud saves enabled, you can of course save locally as normal. Steam Achievements There are now Steam achievements. So you can show your friends what you can do. Maybe there are also a few incentives to start one more run. Steam Leaderboards With the leaderboards on Steam, you can compete directly with your friends to see who can score the most points. There will also still be a local highscore. Please remember to add Periodicity - Hats and scars to your wishlist so that you don't miss any updates and, above all, the release of the full version at the end of December. - New weapon Update - 5 December 2024
In Periodicity - Hats and scars you can equip three weapons at the same time. Here I briefly explain how it works and which weapons are available so far. Hats Each hat in the game gives you a different weapon. There are currently three hats and the option to go out without a hat. These are almost always long-range attacks. The classic cowboy hat is the first hat you'll find. It gives you a pistol that shoots an aimed bullet at a nearby enemy. Further bullets are possible. However, these will not be aimed. The scare crow hat shoots two feathers at the same time. More feathers can be added to make it easier to hit opponents. The bowler is a classic. It gives you a shotgun that doesn't shoot as far, but has a wider spread. Tools Tools help you to loot materials so that you can rebuild the village.
