- Update Notes for 1 Sep 2026 - 31 August 2026
Gameplay: Added “Follow Me Car Bays”. Follow Me Cars are no longer stationed on Runways, but a new buildable area called the “Follow Me Car Bay”. When placed next to a taxiway, Follow Me Cars will meet aircraft on the taxiway. Follow Me Car bays also need to be joined to that taxiway with a road. This new system avoids Follow Me Cars using Runways and avoids the issue of Follow Me Cars needing to race across the Runway before the next flight arrives (which is very difficult with the recently introduced Longer Runways). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3792479240 Separate Follow Me Cars Bays will be needed for inbound and outbound aircraft. For inbound aircraft, Follow Me Cars meet aircraft next to the Follow Me Car Bay and take them to their stands. They will need a road connection, to return to the Follow Me Car Bay. If they are placed too close to the end of the…
- Update Notes for 1 Aug 2026 - 1 August 2026
Gameplay: Added the option to play with “Longer Runways” when starting a new game. Longer runways present an extra challenge to the player as they take more space and good service times will require combinations of landing and takeoff runways. To ensure the player can actually build a longer runway when starting, two random extra tiles will be given to the player upon starting with this option. Gameplay: Added the “Hangar Space Optimization” upgrade, which adds one extra vehicle slot to Hangars. This should compensate the need for recently introduced Tyre Trailers and Access Platforms to occupy space in Hangars, without making the game too easy. The upgrade will require first the Flight Check Service upgrade. Statistics: Aircraft Average Sizes are now shown in the Statistics Menu.
- Update Notes for 18 Jul 2026 - 18 July 2026
Gameplay: Introduced “Operational Disruptions”. Occasionally, an aircraft might now arrive with a tyre fault, light fault, or sensor fault. The arriving aircraft will come with a warning message by default. Tyre faults will require a special Transporter with a “Tyre Trailer”, while light and sensor faults will require a special Transporter with an “Access Platform”. Players have two options for dealing with Operational Disruptions. The first option is to ignore the problem. In this case aircraft will order themselves the relevant Transporter from outside. It will arrive via the Airport Road Entry. In this case the Operational Disruption is just a minor inconvenience, possibly delaying an aircraft’s turnaround time. There is unlikely to be a penalty in Service Rating as Aircraft with an Operational Disruption have an increase to their Desired Service Time. Saying this, very long distance…
- Update Notes for 13 Jul 2026 - 13 July 2026
To prepare for future developments, we have had to change the format of save game files. Unfortunately, old save games will not be able to fully load lists of previously purchased vehicles and staff, taxiway-road crossings may need rebuilding, escalator directions may need resetting, and gate linkages reset. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this will cause, however, it will give us better flexibility for the future. Gameplay: Added the option to limit the maximum size of aircraft accepted at each individual Apron, Hangar, and Gate (in fact this new option was the first change requiring the aforementioned change in save game format). Gameplay: Optimized the aircraft taxiing algorithm. Previously aircraft reserved their whole path upon starting to taxi. This resulted though in some aircraft with only short counterpropagating paths having to wait a long time for aircraft that might…
- Update Notes for 5 July 2026 - 5 July 2026
Gameplay: Added the Hire Car upgrade. This will increase passenger usage of the Car Park, further reducing the load on the Terminal Entrance. Gameplay: Added Visitors who will wait for passengers just outside the Baggage Claim. Visitors park their cars in the Car Park when waiting and so increase slightly the usage of the Car Park. Gameplay: Added High Pressure Pipes Upgrade.
- Update Notes for 1 Jul 2026 - 30 June 2026
Gameplay: Added the Car Park, which can be built directly next to the Terminal Entrance when clicking on the Terminal Entrance. Only one Car Park can be built per Terminal Entrance. The Car Park should reduce the load on the Terminal Entrance while allowing a small income per Car. Gameplay: Added Cars to use the Car Park. UI: The Petrol Station now correctly reads its pricing information as per car instead of per passenger.
- Update Notes for 17 Jun 2026 - 17 June 2026
Workshop: In the “Load Game” menu, players now have options to upload their save games to the Steam Workshop, share them, and browse other players’ uploaded games. Please note that this feature is only available to players who have agreed to the Steam Workshop terms and conditions. Players will need to subscribe to other players’ content in the Steam Workshop, before being able to see it in the game. Gameplay: Added two new passenger airlines.
- Update Notes for 6 Jun 2026 - 5 June 2026
Gameplay: Existing Catering Trucks are too large to connect to the smallest Size 0 propeller aircraft. To allow the catering service to still be provided to such aircraft, we have now introduced smaller Catering Vans at Catering Buildings. These vans are only useful for these smallest of aircraft, but they are cheap. Gameplay: Added a new passenger airline. Options: Added the option to turn off low fuel pressure warning messages. Fuel pressure can still be verified at Aprons, Gates, Fuel Tanks, etc., by selecting them and hovering over their icon.
- Update Notes for 23 May 2026 - 23 May 2026
Gameplay: Introducing the Fuel Hydrant System upgrade, which allows the player to build underground fuel pipes. These allow more efficient supply of fuel to aircraft, particularly for larger aircraft. The pressure in the fuel pipes is governed by a physical model. The pressure must reach a minimum value at an Apron or Gate for the fuel pipe connection to operate. Pressure is released upon refueling (with larger aircraft causing more pressure loss). Pressure takes longer to build up in longer pipe networks, but can be increased by placing Fuel Pumps along the line. Gameplay: Hydrant dispenser trucks are now available at fuel depots. These replace fuel trucks when sufficient pressure is available at a fuel pipe connection. Hydrant dispenser trucks are cheap and can refuel any aircraft size in a single visit (as they use the underground pipe connection). Gameplay: Fuel tanks now require th…
- Update Notes for 18 Mar 2026 - 18 March 2026
Statistics: The Statistics system has been overhauled. It is now possible to cycle through more graph options. Arrows have been added to the budget screen to allow the player to see the history of budget entries for previous days. Unfortunately, we had to change the format in which we store game data to make these changes possible. This means that old save games will not show statistics correctly. However, these games can still be loaded and will begin accruing new statistics automatically. Statistics: Private Jet and Military Aircraft visits are now counted in statistics.
- Update Notes for 13 Mar 2026 - 13 March 2026
Gameplay: Aircraft of Size 3 and above will now require two trips from Fuel Trucks to be refueled. However, Fuel Depots now allow the purchase of a larger variant of the Fuel Truck, which is capable of refueling large aircraft in a single trip. The disadvantage of large Fuel Trucks is that they occupy two parking slots in the Fuel Depot. The aim is that composition of Fuel Trucks becomes relevant, similar to the recently introduced Tug composition. Gameplay: Delivery Lorries no longer go to Cargo Depots or Catering Buildings at night. This helps avoid the need to wait for lorries at night time and allows faster progression to the next day. Graphics: Added Refueling Animations for both types of Fuel Truck. Graphics: Fuel Delivery Trucks (which deliver fuel to the Fuel Depot) now have their own model (to distinguish from the Fuel Trucks that take fuel from the Fuel Depot to aircraft). UI:…
- Update Notes for 1 Mar 2026 - 1 March 2026
Gameplay: Tug Depots now allow purchase of up to three different types of tugs, including the Standard Tug, Light Tug, and Towbarless Tug. This is to make purchasing vehicles at the Tug Depot more strategic as each tug type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Tugs purchased can later be sold (at a price depending on whether the Circular Economy upgrade was purchased). The initial Standard Tug that comes with a new Tug Depot can not be sold. Note that unfortunately some old save games will not reload with tugs purchased previously (as they don’t have a defined type) so some players will need to purchase tugs again. We are sorry for this, but we can not always maintain full backward compatibility when making changes. Gameplay: Added Standard Tugs. These can handle all aircraft sizes but have a slow turnaround time as the towbar takes time to connect and disconnect. Gameplay: Added L…
- Update Notes for 22 Feb 2026 - 22 February 2026
Gameplay: Some transit passengers will now go to wait outside their next gate before their next flight arrives. This can help improve passenger service times (provided the transit passengers policy is enabled). Gameplay: Added more seats for transit passengers (by cafes, smoking lounges, and bars). Again, this should help improve passenger service times (when the transit passengers policy is enabled). Gameplay: Doubled the capacity of gardens. Gameplay: Added the ability to mark tiles with a given colour (red, yellow, green, or blue). This is to help players plan future developments. Graphics: Air Marshals now have lit wands at night.
- Update Notes for 6 Feb 2026 - 6 February 2026
Gameplay: Added two new passenger airlines. Gameplay: Added passenger families. Some passengers will now be part of a family and they will move through the airport together. As a family will checkin and pass immigration together, this has a slight improvement in the time it takes for all passengers to reach their gate. There is also a slight improvement in performance as we don’t have to calculate every passenger’s path fully independently. UI: Family members will often have the same family name, depending on their nationality. For some nationalities, children will take family names from both parents (e.g., for Spanish families). Gameplay: When an aircraft is ready to board, all passengers stand up simultaneously. While this is less realistic, there is a slight improvement in the boarding time (the previous behaviour was that passengers would standup at staggered times). Similarly, when…
- Update Notes for 24 Jan 2026 - 24 January 2026
Gameplay: Added a size 3 passenger aircraft. Gameplay: Added two new passenger airlines. Gameplay: Added monorail trains. These are unlocked together with the level 2 construction upgrade. Monorails should help passengers travel longer distances faster and can be used to connect multiple terminal buildings. Note that monorail tracks might not always automatically find the desired orientation and may need manual rotation (using the "R" key by default).
- Update Notes for 1 Jan 2026 - 1 January 2026
Gameplay: Added a size 0 propeller passenger aircraft. Currently this aircraft is only available for the North America, Europe, and Oceania continents. Gameplay: Size 1 propeller cargo are now available for the Europe and Africa continents. Gameplay: Added six new passenger airlines and two new cargo airlines. UI: When browsing airlines in the options menu, a view of each airline’s aircraft is now shown. Misc: Added more passenger nationalities. Rebalanced the nationalities associated with aircraft arriving from different destinations to be more realistic. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3636614422
- Update Notes for 25 Dec 2025 - 25 December 2025
Gameplay: Added a size 1 propeller aircraft. Currently this aircraft is only available for the North America, South America, and Asia continents. Gameplay: Added three new cargo airlines. UI: The Fuel Depot now correctly shows when fuel tanks are empty upon reloading a save game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3630742743
- Update Notes for 22 Dec 2025 - 22 December 2025
Graphics: New tree/bush styles have been introduced for the South America, Asia, Africa, and Oceania continents. Misc: Fire trucks at Fire Stations will now give “Water Salutes” to Cargo Aircraft at Aprons on rare occasions (e.g., the first time an aircraft of a larger size arrives at the airport). Fire trucks will only be dispatched if the Fire Station is not too far from the corresponding Apron (to avoid causing delays). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3628376708
- Update Notes for 16 Dec 2025 - 16 December 2025
Graphics: An option has been added to change the style of hotels. Graphics: Check-ins and Baggage Claims now have Christmas Trees. UI: In the options menu, players can now see the sizes of aircraft and regions served by each airline. Gameplay: Added two new passenger airlines.
- Update Notes for 24 Nov 2025 - 24 November 2025
Gameplay: Added size 0 propeller aircraft for passenger services. Note that such aircraft will not use level2 gates (as jet bridges are not compatible with the small height of these aircraft). Gameplay: Added six airlines for the new size 0 propeller aircraft (one for each continent). Languages: Major changes to the German translation in preparation for upgrade to an official translation status. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3611577679
